Power Places of Dorje Shugden

Power and sacred places exist in each religious tradition of this world. For instance, the River Ganges for Hindus, Mecca for Moslems, the River Jordan for Christians, Bodhgaya for Buddhists of all traditions, and many other sacred places. For centuries, these holy places have attracted millions of people for one common purpose: a place of peace to nurture their inner selves with love and compassion.

In conjunction with International Religious Freedom Day on 27 October 2015, DorjeShugden.com would like to share with you some of the power places that are very closely associated with the World Peace Protector Dorje Shugden. May we always have the fortune to be in one of these sacred places.

Wutai Shan – Five Peak Mountain

A panoramic view of the sacred Five Peak Mountain

This is none other than the holy abode of Lord Manjushri blessed by the Buddha Shakyamuni himself. The origins of Wutai Shan or Five Peak Mountain date back to about 2,600 years ago. The entire mountainous abode including its distinctive five peaks was mystically beautiful. There was a hermit meditating in one of the caves in that area and during the night, lights shone from the mouth of the cave, attracting the attention of nearby villagers. The hermit was a man of few words who had already realized the ultimate truth of all things. Within the Buddhist tenets, this realization is known as the ultimate wisdom of Emptiness or Shunyata.

News spread of this hermit and his ability to show magical powers in the middle of the night and his discourses which touched both the lay householder and the highly advanced thinkers of the day. Many were drawn into that area and their minds were blessed with wisdom and the nature of compassion.

The shape of the mountains formed a natural fort for people to be guarded from the lures of modernization of China. The five peaks were said to represent the five fingers of the Buddha and a small valley called Tai Huai lay in the middle of these five peaks, in what was considered the Buddha’s palm. Each of the give peaks served as the abode of one of the five different forms of Manjushri while Tai Huai was the centre of activity. It is here in Wutai Shan that over 360 monasteries were built over the centuries in honor of the Buddha of Wisdom, Manjushri.

The emanations of his body pervade the whole world, the pure deeds of his speech protect the doctrine, and the thoughts of his mind possess the ten powers.

Many monks and laity alike would come annually to Five Peak Mountain from all over the world for a pilgrimage into the holy space of Manjushri himself and it is widely known that the greatest Buddhist Masters throughout time studied and gained realizations here. Manjushri was very well known to have manifested time and again in different forms in order to teach the Dharma and display skillful means, thus ensuring that the Dharma would be imprinted into the minds of people here.

It is also very well known that Lama Tsongkapa’s father had a dream in which a monk from the Five Peak Mountain of China requested to stay in his house for 9 months, and was housed in the family’s prayer room. This dream is interpreted to mean that the monk from Wutai Shan is none other than Buddha Manjushri himself, and would take rebirth in their house thorough the womb of the mother.

The physical and geographical aspect of Five Peak Mountain also coincides with the Mandala of Dorje Shugden. Apart from being the abodes of the five forms of Manjushri, they are also the abodes of the five lineages of Dorje Shugden. The main form of the protector resides in the central peak flanked by the other four emanations in the other four peaks. From the scriptural point of view, Dorje Shugden’s five families are emanations of Manjushri’s body, speech, mind, activities and qualities. Wutai Shan being the holy mandala of Manjushri is also therefore the same pure land of Dorje Shugden.

Furthermore, there is distinct evidence that the Yellow Hat lineage was passed down from the great Kyabje Pabongka Dechen Nyingpo to Kangsar Rinpoche, who in turn passed this lineage to Master Neng Hai, who then brought the sacred lineage of the Gelugpas back to China. Master Neng Hai’s work was based in Wutai Shan where he was instrumental in translating the essential texts such as the Lama Chopa, Lamrim and Ngarim Chenmo into Chinese. It is also widely known that a strong following of Dorje Shugden is prominent within the monasteries of Five Peak Mountain today.

Hence, whenever we call upon the infallible protector Dorje Shugden, do contemplate his qualities which are the same as those of Manjushri, for his wish and love for has no end.

Tushita: Within the Throne of Father Je Tsongkapa

The great Dulzin Drakpa Gyaltsen not only reincarnated as Panchen Sonam Drakpa but because of his self-mastery of full enlightenment, he was able to emanate in many places and many forms at the same time to enact virtuous deeds to serve both sentient beings and the Dharma.

For example, in Tushita Heaven, he sits on the right side of Lama Tsongkapa, who appears as a main Bodhisattva disciple of Maitreya called Jamphel Nyingpo or “Essence of Manjushri”. Under Lama Tsongkapa’s throne in Tushita Heaven is also the mandala of Dorje Shugden complete with the 32 deities and palace.

When Tagpu Pemavajra astral-traveled to Tushita Heaven and requested the teachings of Dorje Shugden, he saw the mandala of Dorje Shugden appear from under the throne of Lama Tsongkapa. Given the fact that Dorje Shugden arose because of his vows and prayers to protect the essence of Lama Tsongkapa’s teachings, and given his dedication and devotion to his Lama, it is apt that he sits right under his master’s throne to effectively protect and serve his Lama.

It is important to understand that both Lama Tsongkapa and Dorje Shugden are in essence Manjushri; and as he is a fully enlightened being, he has no ego as to who is to teach and who is to serve. Both manifest as if in a drama to tame our minds and to set us onto the path of Enlightenment.

Sakya at Mug Chug

When Tulku Drakpa Gyaltsen was murdered, he arose as the dharma protector Dorje Shugden through the power of his prayers and the slight wrathful energy generated in his mind. Upon arising as a protector, his first thought was to visit his Lama’s holy temple in Tashi Lhunpo; however he realized that the time was not right when the eight brothers of Namtose formed a circle surrounding the boundaries of the monastery. Thus, Dorje Shugden went instead to the Sakya temple in Mug Chug and identified himself to be one of the great patriarchs of the Sakya lineage, Sakya Pandita.

Having heard Dorje Shugden’s explanation, the Sakya throne holder at that time accepted his request to be enthroned as a Dharma Protector and even wrote a beautiful liturgy in his honor. As the “youngest” and newest Dharma Protector, prayers to Dorje Shugden were efficacious and would bear fruit more swiftly for Dharma activities to grow and increase. He was later given the status of a high protector and was often associated with two other Tsen protectors Tsiu Marpo and Dorje Setrap. Together with Dorje Shugden, they were known as Gyalpo Sum or the “Three Blazing Brothers”. They were enthroned in the high office of the Sakya Monastery and it still remains there to this day.

Keajra

Keajra is the pure land of the Dakinis and can also be simply translated as the “Land of Sky Walkers”. Also known in Tibetan as Khandro, Dakinis are a special class of beings, the hybrid of Female Buddhas and Yoginis who are able to walk the sky. The central figure of this sacred abode is the Tantric Buddha Heruka Chakrasamvara and his consort Vajrayogini.

Due to the kindness of Buddha Vajradhara, there are earthly power places which link the Keajra on earth to the real place unseen by those of little faith and merit. One such place is Kang Rinpoche or Mount Kailash. Mentioned by the Buddha in both Sutric and Tantric texts to be the axis of the earth, Mount Kailash represents both Heruka and Vajrayogini in union. It is said that the King and Queen along with their entourage of mystical deities reside on top of this mountain. Thus all Tibetan Buddhists, both high incarnations and ordinary beings, make an effort to circumambulate the mountain thrice in their lifetime.

Mount Kailash

Along with Mount Kailash, there are 24 holy sites located all around the world which are related to Tantric Buddha Heruka. These are places where the Buddha and other highly attained masters and Mahasiddhas emanated the Heruka Mandala. Due to their kindness, they did not dissolve these mandalas and thus they are still in existence to continue to bless beings who enter their presence.

When Dorje Shugden was Tulku Drakpa Gyaltsen, his tutelary Yidam was both Heruka and Vajrayogini. Thus, his mastery of this tantra has helped him to manifest himself as a Dharma protector today, as well as one of the principle protectors of the Heruka tantras.

Shambhala

Dorje Shugden resides in the mystical land of Shambala

Dorje Shugden also resides in the mystical land of Shambhala, which is closely associated with the Kalachakra tantras. Believed to be hidden within the grand Himalayan mountain range, it is believed to be a place where only those who are pure of heart and mind can live, where compassion and wisdom reigns supreme, and where people are immune to the sufferings of samsara, including aging and desire.

Thus, whenever we recite the invocation prayers to Dorje Shugden, remember that Dorje Shugden is really descending from his celestial and earthly abodes and entering our presence.

Light rays from my heart
Instantly invite the wisdom beings from the sphere of nature
And from all the palaces where they abide.
They become inseparable from the commitment beings.

Addendum

Zasep Tulku Rinpoche’s autobiography ‘A Tulku’s Journey from Tibet to Canada’, published in 2016, provides historical evidence and irrefutable proof that the Central Tibetan Administration is falsifying the facts when it comes to the practice of the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden.

The autobiography of Zasep Tulku Rinpoche, a high lama of the Gelug lineage, provides accurate historical accounts of the Dorje Shugden practice. Click to enlarge.

Historical accounts show that prior to the politicization of the Dorje Shugden practice by the Central Tibetan Administration, this popular deity was relied upon by Dharma practitioners to help in their spiritual practice. Contrary to detractors’ claims about Dorje Shugden being ‘anti-Dharma’, this Dharma Protector practice was traditionally deemed to be suitable to be practiced alongside the Highest Yoga Tantras.

Zasep Rinpoche and his family were able to escape to safety prior to the events of 1959 through the clairvoyance and prophetic advice of Dorje Shugden through one of his oracles, Lama Gelong Chojor Gyamtso.

Oracles of the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden were known for the accuracy of their prophecies due to Dorje Shugden being a fully enlightened deity with perfect clairvoyance. As stated clearly by Zasep Rinpoche in his autobiography ‘A Tulku’s Journey from Tibet to Canada’, Dorje Shugden warned the Tibetans of the impending loss of their homeland but his advice was mostly ignored by the Tibetan government.

The Tibetan government chose to consult the worldly state protector Nechung, and Nechung advised that the Dalai Lama should remain in Tibet where he would be safe. This was mistaken advice, as historical events would later show. Fortunately for Tibetan Buddhists all around the world, Kyabje Trijang Dorje Chang had great faith in Dorje Shugden and consulted the protector for advice on the Dalai Lama’s safety. Dorje Shugden via the Panglung Oracle urgently adviced the Dalai Lama to leave for India immediately and gave the exact escape route. In saving the Dalai Lama from certain harm, Dorje Shugden prevented the destruction of Tibetan Buddhism and preserved the future of the Tibetan culture and people.

Zasep Rinpoche’s account of events concur with monastic records that it was indeed Dorje Shugden who saved the Dalai Lama instead of Nechung, contrary to the claims of the Tibetan leadership.

Dorje Shugden’s practice was first established within the Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism. The Sakya Throneholders regarded this Dharma Protector as an enlightened being and Dorje Shugden, together with Dorje Setrab and Tsiu Marpo formed the triune of Sakya Protectors known as Gyalpo Sum. Today, Sakya practitioners claim that Dorje Shugden was never widely practiced by their lineage but history proves otherwise. The undeniable fact is that before the CTA’s religious ban, Dorje Shugden was practiced first by the Sakyas and was later transmitted to the Gelug school where it was practiced by the majority of the Gelugpas.

Contrary to the CTA’s claims that Dorje Shugden’s practice is sectarian, Zasep Rinpoche’s autobiography shows how practitioners of all four schools of Tibetan Buddhism lived and practiced together in harmony, especially during the early years of exile in India. It was only when the CTA launched a virulent smear campaign against Dorje Shugden that the general public began to label Dorje Shugden a sectarian practice. In truth, Dorje Shugden’s practice is no more sectarian than the practices of other Dharma Protectors such as Mahakala Bernagchen, Achi Chokyi Drolma or Dorje Legpa, who protect the Karma Kagyu, Drikung Kagyu and Nyingma schools respectively.

By the 1980s, the Tibetan government had failed to fulfil multiple promises to return the Tibetan people to their homeland. A scapegoat was needed and they made one out of an ancient Buddhist practice, pinning the loss of Tibet and the failure of the Tibetan cause on Dorje Shugden. In his autobiography, Zasep Rinpoche is of the same opinion, stating that “…the [Dorje Shugden] controversy was orchestrated by the Tibetan Central Administration…”

The Tibetan leadership effectively sanctioned witch-hunts on Dorje Shugden practitioners and persecuted them using government instruments, declaring that simply by being a Shugden worshipper, one was effectively an enemy of the Tibetan nation.

As a result of the hatred against Dorje Shugden practitioners instigated by the Tibetan leadership, virtually all Shugden Buddhists had to fear for their lives, or at least for their safety.

Dorje Shugden’s beneficial practice has continued to thrive due to the courage and commitment of high lamas such as Zasep Tulku Rinpoche.

For centuries, Dorje Shugden has been practiced alongside the highest practices of the Gelug and Sakya lineages. Zasep Tulku Rinpoche’s list of transmission is an indication that the highest scholars viewed the Protector as an enlightened being compatible with their yidam practices.

  9. Really enjoyed reading about a the power places of Dorej Shugden, where the Dorje Shugden will come from to bless practitioners and monks when we do our prayers to propitiate the Great Protector.

  10. Such a beuatiful article about the places where Dorje Shugden resides. It is amazing how Buddha Manjushri, for the sake of all sentient beings emanated into different forms to help. He must be the busiest Buddha of all.. ;p

We are very fortunate that physical places that are directly related to the mandala of a Buddha exist, that means even though we may not have attainment to see the Buddhas, to have vision, we can still step into the Mandala and get the blessing.

It is interesting to know that Dorje Shugden also resides in Shambala. As much as HHDL is against DS practice, he has been giving a lot of Kalachakra initiation, he is somehow connecting people with DS. As a practitioner, we cannot really say we will respect one deity in this Mandala but not another.

Now these places have got more meaning to me. Hopefully I will be able to visit these holy places some day.

  11. Thank you for sharing this information on the holy places where Dorje Shugden resides. It is interesting to know that enlightened beings not only reside in celestial pure lands but they also abide in earthly abodes to benefit sentient beings. Because of this, they are so much more accessible to ordinary beings. Many pilgrims visit Wutai Shan, hoping to get a glimpse of the bodhisattva. Visitors circumambulate Mount Kailash as it is regarded as the centre of the universe, a kind of universal mandala. It is also the abode of Heruka and Vajrayogini! When we invoke Dorje Shugden in our prayers, it is important to remember that the Protector and his entourage are coming from all these holy places!

  12. Absolutely amazing! Thank you Admin for sharing so much information on the holy & sacre sites where Dorje Shugden resides. We are extremely fortunate that these sites which exist 2600 years old still accessible for us ordinary beings.

The pictures of this holy images & sites will definitely help me with my visualization during my prayers.

These earthly power sites are a MUST VISIT for all Dorje Shugden practitioners.

    Regards,
    Kendall Tiggers

We actually inviting Dorje Shugden daily from those sacred places of Dorje Shugden when we recite prayer daily. This make us have a strong connection with Dorje Shugden and we wont miss out to invite Dorje Shugden and pay homage too.

Manjushri was manifested from time to time in different forms in order to teach the Dharma and display skillful means, thus ensuring that the Dharma would be imprinted into the minds of people.

Beside of make connection with Dorje Shugden, we also make connection with Vajrayogini. Buddhas are very compassion and give us special way to help all sentient beings in everyway until out of samsara.

I want to make a strong affinity to Manjushri, Dorje Shugden and Vajrayogini that i never be parted from all of you until enlightenment.

Thank you admin sharing such wonderful informations.

  15. All the while i was thinking that the Power places of Dorje Shugden should be in far heaven. Through this articles, i was surprise that the Power places of Dorje Shugden is so close to us. It is actually in our world system. Not only Dorje Shugden recite in this world – Wutai Shan or Five peak Mountain, Dorje Shugden also recite in Dakini land, and also in Tushita. Dorje Shugden is so close to us. I felt Dorje Shugden is living next to us. I think that is the reason, when we call upon Dorje Shugden, He always attend to us in very fast methods.

    Thanks for this wonderful article

  16. Thanks for sharing this wonderful info and article. Wutai Shan is a place i will visit next time.

  17. Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures of the scared abodes of the holy beings both celestial and earthly of Heruka Chakrasamva and His consort Vajrayogini and also the Buddha of wisdom Manjushri. By looking at these holy photos i feel so blessed already.
We are fortunate to get blessing when enters their presence since they did not dissolve these mandalas due to their kindeness as they are still exiting .
One must really make an effort to visit these sacred places once in a life time if not more.

  18. It is just beautiful reading this article.

Holy places like this are so important, just by being in that area, one can feel generate the merits to do even more dharma work in the future.

  19. What a load of absolute nonsense. This evil spirit has no more power places than Dolchig Karmo where the reliquary ended up after it was dumped in the river.

You guys just make this stuff up and the only people that believe it are you – gullible cult following fools.

  20. Thank you DS.com for posting all these holy sites, is very magnificent to ready and be able to know now about all these holy site wish one day can visit all these holy places.

  21. Incredible information! If only I have read this article before I visited Wutaishan, I believe my pilgrimage would have been more meaningful.

  22. Thanks DS.com for the article. All these power places are related to the purity and enlightened qualities of Dorje Shugden. By invoking the Protector from these power places, in itself shows that the Protector is Enlightened, other it would be contradictory.

Hence, this again shows that Dorje Shugden in Enlightened.

  23. These are amazing and holy places of pilgrimage regardless of religion. I have always been fascinated with Mount Kailash and Shambala since I was very young. I was searching for more information about Mount Kailash which is how I found your website. Thank you for this information and explanation why these places are holy.

  24. i have the great merit doing pilgrimage trip to Five Peak Mountains few years back. Along the town valley at the bottom of five mountains, there are hundreds of smaller temple, more than half of these temple their main statues is Manjushri, and Lama Tsongkhapa with his 2 disciples.

At the Central Peak, there is a temple housing the main form of Manjushri statue, in front of Manjushri statue, there is Tsongkhapa statue with his 2 disciples. On our way to the East Peak, we noticed a BUM logo pointing to a very small walking path located on another smaller hill, and some monks wearing tibetan monks robe walking towards that direction.

It was a great pilgrimage trip. I love the energies and is totally mesmerized in it. I hope to have the merits to make more similar pilgrimage trip i the future.

  25. Thank you for the very informative article. At least one can now relate and visualise where the palaces are when we recite the opening verses :)

  26. Buddhist practitioners, sangha, tulkus and lay people have been going to these holy locations to propitiate to Dorje Shugden who is emanation of Manjushri, especially the Five Peak Mountains for hundreds of years. These places of worship to Dorje Shugden has been made popular due to the trust and belief of practitioners alike. Funds had been donated in kind to maintain these holy places for future generations to pay homage to. Thank you for highlighting these holy places to us.

  27. Wow, these are some of the most prominent pilgrimage sites in the Buddhist world. Dorje Shugden has been amidst us subtly but ever so present as he quietly guides and protects us on the path to Dharma. With more information to shed light, I begin to see how Dorje Shugden is the perfect Dharma Protector of our time. From the origination of his practice that is based on wisdom for an era where people seek knowledge and information and not blind faith to the spaces he resides to remain close to us.

Thank you so much for this informative post!

  28. Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful and sacred places of our lineage and Protector. Knowing the significance of each places, gives rise to faith and conviction that our practise of Dorje Shugden is truly authentic and reliable! Manjushri, Vajrayogini, Dorje Shugden are so compassionate to link places on earth for us lack of merits to create necessary causes to be reborn into these pure lands. No devil will even bother to create these places for us as the devil’s sole interest would be hell and endless rebirth in samsara.

  29. Woah.. all the places where Dorje Shugden resides sure tells us the nature of his being is not ordinary. It can only be a divine enlightened being… one with Manjushri no doubt! How can anyone who knows this create stupid stories that Dorje Shugden is a demon spirit? Only fools who are like sheep are blinded statue, power, fame and superstitious. Why would a spirit come forth from Vajra Yogini’s pure land? Make no sense, cos if DS really was a demon, he cannot even entire Kechara, no?

Anyway knowing where DS comes from helps me to visualise better and increase my faith even more… thank you ds.com

  30. Each time we engage in Dorje Shugden pujas, we are invoking Dorje Shugden from these sacred places. These are not evil places, charnal grounds or other nasty places. These are real sacred places that are inhabited by attained beings. Therefore, it is natural to assume that Dorje Shugden too is an attained awakened being as well. The connection is obvious if you understand the significance of these places.

  31. Dear DS.com

Thank you for posting the article on the Power Places of Dorje Shugden. It certainly helped me to understand more about these sacred places that are mentioned in Dorje Shugden’s prayers.

It is interesting to know that Dorje Shugden was first enthroned in Mug Chug by Sakya Trizin even before he was recognised as Gelugpa protector. This is a good refutation to the CTA’s claims that Dorje Shugden practice is sectarian. So the Dorje Shugden ban is also affecting the Sakya and not only Gelugpa practitioners.

    Michaela

  32. Thanks for this article, it seems Dorje Shugden’s power places are also Manjushri’s power places.

So engaging in the Kalachakra tantra and creating a connection to Shambhala, connects us with Manjushri and therefore Dorje Shugden too. And praying to Vajrayogini and connecting with Keajra connects you with Manjushri (and Dorje Shugden) too.

Hahaha so the Dalai Lama is going around the world giving Kalachakra to all these people who are indirectly creating a connection with Dorje Shugden. And FPMT who disseminate Vajrayogini’s practice are helping their members create this connection as well.

  33. This is really interesting and what I find totally fascinating is how one of Dorje Shugden’s heaven is Wu Tai Shan which is in fact on earth. However this is in line with the nature of Dorje Shugden who chose to take a worldly form so that we can connect with him easily.

Another thing to note is how the Sakya Mug Chug is also another of Dorje Shugden’s pure land, and this would indicate that he is not sectarian.

  34. It is nice to see how important these places are in the worship of Dorje Shugden. And as an enlightened being, these places are both ethereal and physical. It is very nice to know that three of the power places mentioned here are physical places on this earth, and so much closer than the Pure Lands, from which to invoke Dorje Shugden from. These are Five Peaked Mountain, The Sakya temple of Mug Chung and Shambala which is somewhere in the Himalayan region. Very nice to invoke Dorje Shugden from these places.

  35. Thank you for this. Many young Tibetans like me do not know much about Dorje Shugden because we do not have much information, except learning from Lamas. We young people stay and work far from our homecities, so only we can learn from online. I like learning more about this protector because my family is from Chatreng and our Lama is Trijang Dorje Chang, and our protector is Dorje Shugden.

  36. Spectacular places, as we can see, Dorje Shugden is definitely not a minor practice. Dorje Shugden is known to be an emanation of Manjushri, it’s a known fact and it’s written in the scriptures too.

I hope to visit all these holy places one day, just imagine having the opportunity to reside in Manjushri’s holy lands, such a great blessing!

  37. The places where Dorje Shugden resides are some of the most potent spiritual places on Earth and in other dimensions. These are places people go for pilgrimage or aspire to go when they leave samsara so that they can continue their Dharma practice.

It does not make sense how Dorje Shugden is malevolent.

I hope that one day I will get to visit Wutai Shan. I have heard so much about it. And if I am fortunate enough, I may have a glimpse of Tushita. But for now, I will admire that beautiful thangka illustration of Tushita that I am lucky enough to lay eyes. May this contribute to creating the cause for me to arrive there one day!

  38. very nice research into these power places of Dorje Shugden. it seems that WuTaiShan is the only on possible to go with our physical body at this point of time? We should do that in this lifetime and perform Dorje Shugden puja at WuTaiShan, it will be very powerful and blessed.

  39. Everything about Dorje Shugden reveals his innate awakened qualities right from where he resides, Tushita, Shambala and so forth to his various emanations that seem to conform to the entourage of the 32 deity Guhyasmaja. It’s incredible how many people disregard this fact.

  40. Interesting to read that the five peaks of Wu Tai Shan represents the five forms and lineage of Dorje Shugden.

I always like the part where Tagpu Pemavajra astral traveled to Tushita and Dorje Shugden came out from under Lama Tsongkhapa’s throne to give the teachings signifying that Dorje Shugden is there to protect and serve his lama.

The place of Dorje Shugden’s enthronement and power of the Sakya temple Mug Chug together the Dorje Setrap and Tsui Marpo points to the fact the it was originally the Sakya’s that enthroned Dorje Shugden and placed in equal importance with both Tsui Marpo and Dorje Setrap.

Mount Kailash as stated in the article is linked to Kejara, the pure land of Vajrayogini due to the kindness of the Buddha Vajradhara. Mount Kailash is mentioned by the Buddha in the sutric and tantric texts to be the axis of the earth. No wonder so many people try to circumambulate the mountain at least one if not thrice int heir lives.

And, finally Shambala, a place where only those who are pure of heart and mind can live, where compassion and wisdom reigns supreme.

The power places of Dorje Shugden of Tushia, Kejara and Shambala reveals the enlightened qualities of Dorje Shugden.

Now, I understand why so many make aspiration to go to Wu Tai Shan and do the kora/circumambulate Mount Kailash. These power places for us to connect and nurture our inner selves are on this earth and we can access it. Would be good if the Sakya temple is accessible too.

  41. Thank you dorjeshugden.com for sharing of these power places of Dorje Shugden. All of them sound so wonderful as places of pilgrimage to connect with the blessings and energies of the Buddhas. I could just imagine sitting in meditation on the high slopes of the mountains where the cool breeze blew gently against my face, bringing with it the beautiful magical mantras of Lord Dorje Shugden. It would be lovely to have the opportunity to visit but to me the most powerful place would be where my Guru resides, where he commune with Lord Dorje Shugden and where he creates the mandala of compassion and wisdom for all of us. It is where my heart lies in wait to be awaken when my Guru knows I am ready.

  42. We should pay visit to the sacred places more often so that we can do the spiritual activities which will help to heal our body and mind. When we do spiritual activities at the sacred place like Wutai San, I believed that our spiritual results will have great progress with the blessing of Manjushri.

Thank you for sharing these wonderful sacred places.

  44. I’ve always been very fascinated and attracted by these holy places since young. They sound so mystical and after learning more Dharma, I started to realise these holy places really do exist and it’s not just imagination, it’s just our diluted karma that is blocking us from seeing them or even to believe their existence.

We should at least visit Mount Kailash and 5-peak mountain (at least they are on earth can is accessible) once in our lifetime to circumambulate, make offerings and aspirations to make stronger connection to the Buddha. These holy places on earth are imbued by the holy energy of these highly attained beings, when we make spiritual aspirations there, we can create the direct causes to obtain the same attainments like the Buddhas have.

Personally I’ve been to Wutaishan once and it was indeed a very worthwhile trip. The 5 holy plateau resides the 5 different forms of Manjushri where we would need 2 days to climb up. Mount Kailesh would be my next destination :)

  45. All these places are very holy and sacred. If Dorje Shugden is the resident in these holy places, he cannot be a spirit or ghost. I am not surprised Dorje Shugden resides in Wu Tai Shan as this is the holy place of Manjushri Buddha but didn’t know he also resides in Kechara, the paradise of Vajrayogini and Shambala. So Dorje Shugden must have a very strong connection to Vajrayogini and Kalachakra!

Wait, His Holiness has been giving Kalachakra to people around the world, why does he want to connect people to the land where Dorje Shugden resides if Dorje Shugden is an evil spirit?

  46. Nice place to be really. It is wonderful to visit this Wutai Shan. Definitely one of the places i would like to pay a visit in near future. This is a holy place as this is a place where it is believed Dorje Shugden also resides. I am also in awe with the beautiful scenery and Tibetan images inlfuence in this mountain surprisingly. It must be because it flourished during the Qing Dynasty era.

  47. Thanks for sharing this interesting articles and the sacred places of Dorje Shugden. Dorje Shugden is the emanation of Manjushri and therefore it is connected so much with Wutai Shan in China.

Interesting to know that the 5 peaks of Wutai Shan is the 5 forms of Dorje Shugden. Dorje Shugden is so powerful as he can manifest in different places at the same time to benefit more poeple.

I really wish I have the opportunity to visit all the holy and sacred places mentioned above.

  48. How lucky we are to know the powerful Dorje Shugden! Dorje Shugden not only in heaven, he is also in this earth protecting Buddha’s doctrine and guide us to path to enlightenment. He is truly a Dharma Protector which protect our spiritual path.

  49. What will the all the people around the world and in Tibet do now? Dalai Lama says he is happy that Tibet is a part of China and should remain a part of China. So many Tibetans self-immolated for Tibet to be independent and now Dalai Lama did a 360 degree turn and says he wants to go back to Tibet and China and Tibet should be a part of China. So unbelievable. So many are angry and disappointed.

Tibetans are ready to be a part of China if guaranteed full rights to preserve their culture, the Dalai Lama said on Friday.
“Tibetans are not asking for independence. We are okay with remaining with the People’s Republic of China, provided we have full rights to preserve our culture,” the 83-year-old spiritual leader said at “Thank You Karnataka” event here in the city.
Organised by the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), the event was a part of “Thank You India – 2018″ held by the Tibetan community across India to mark 60 years of its exile in the country.
“Several of Chinese citizens practicing Buddhism are keen on Tibetan Buddhism as it is considered scientific,” the Nobel laureate said.
Born in Taktser hamlet in northeastern Tibet, the Dalai Lama was recognized at the age of two as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama, Thubten Gyatso. He fled to India from Tibet after a failed uprising against the Chinese rule in 1959.
China annexed Tibet in 1950, forcing thousands of Tibetans, including monks, to flee the mountain country and settle in India as refugees.
Since then, India has been home to over 100,000 Tibetans majorly settled in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh among other states.

  50. Dear Dalai Lama,

Since you started the cruel ban against the 350 year Dorje Shugden practice, how has it benefit your Tibetan society and Buddhism in the world? Things have become worse and most educated Tibetans can see this. They don’t speak out not because they don’t see your ban as wrong, but you instill fear in them and not respect. It is like fear of a dictator. I am sorry to say so. Everyone is divided. There is no harmony. Before your ban there was more harmony and unity.

By enacting the ban, you split the monasteries, split so many families, split regions in Tibet apart, split your disciples from you, split your own gurus from you, split Tibetan Buddhism apart. You have created so much disharmony.

It is not democratic what you have done to ban a religion within your community. You always talk of tolerance and acceptance and democracy and yet you do not accept and tolerate something different from your beliefs. When people practice Dorje Shugden you ostracize them, ban them from seeing you, ban them from using Tibetan facilities. You know you have done that. There are videos that capture your speech and prove this point. You even had people expelled from monasteries just because they practice Dorje Shugden. Some of the monks you expelled have been in the monastery for over 40 years. Many older monks shed tears because of this.

Many young educated Tibetans lost confidence in you as they saw the damage the Dorje Shugden ban created and they lose hope. Many have become free thinkers. They reject what you have done. So many people in the west left Buddhism because of the confusion you created with this ban against Dorje Shugden which is immoral.

You could of had millions of people who practice Dorje Shugden to support, love and follow you, but you scared them away. They are hurt and very disappointed. They loved you and respected you deeply before the ban. It has been 60 years and you have failed to get Tibet back. Your biggest failure is not getting Tibet back after 57 years in exile. Now you are begging China to allow you to return to Tibet to the disappointment of thousands of people who fought for a free Tibet believing in you. So many self-immolated for a free Tibet and now you want Tibet to be a part of China with no referendum from Tibetans. Just like a dictator, you decide on your own. It was your government and you that lost Tibet in the first place. Your policies and style of doing things do not benefit Tibet and Buddhism. You have been the sole ruler of Tibet your whole life and you still have not gotten our country of Tibet back for us. Our families and us are separated. Yet you create more pain by creating a ban to further divide people. Please have compassion.

No other Buddhist leader has banned or condemned any religion except for you. It looks very bad. You are a Nobel laureate and this is not fitting of a laureate. You should unite people and not separate them by religious differences.

You said Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi did not do right to the Rohingya people in Myanmar due to religious differences, but you are doing the same thing to the Shugden Buddhists within your own society. There is a parallel in this. You separate the Shugden Buddhists from the others in Tibetan society.

You have lost so many people who would have loved and supported you. You have lost so much support around the world. The Shugden Buddhists who love you number in the millions. When you are fast losing support from governments and private people, it will not do you well to lose more.

After you are passed away in the future, the rift you created between the Dorje Shugden and non-Dorje Shugden people will remain for a while and that will be your legacy. Disharmony. You will be remembered for this. Not as a hero but a disharmony creator.

Dorje Shugden will spread and further grow, but you will be no more as you are a human. No one wishes you bad and in fact we hope you have a long and healthy life, but we have lost so much hope and have so much despair because of you. All the hundreds of Dorje Shugden lamas, tulkus and geshes are maturing and there are hundreds of Dorje Shugden monasteries in Tibet who will not give up Dorje Shugden. You have made a mistake. These hundreds of teachers and teachers to be will spread Dorje Shugden further in the future.

The gurus that gave us Dorje Shugden as a spiritual practice and you have called these holy gurus wrong and they are mistaken in giving us Dorje Shugden. How can you insult our gurus whom we respect so much? If they can be wrong, then you can be wrong. Then all gurus can be wrong. So no one needs to listen to any guru? You have created this trend. It is not healthy. Your own gurus practiced Dorje Shugden their whole lives. Your own gurus were exemplary and highly learned.

Dalai Lama you have created so much pain with this ban against so many people due to religion. You are ageing fast. Are you going to do anything about it or stay stubborn, hard and un-moving. You show a smile and preach peace and harmony wherever you go. But will you do the same to your own people? Please rectify the wrong you have done. Please before it is too late. You can create harmony again or you can pass away in the future with this legacy of peace. May you live long and think carefully and admit what was a mistake in having this unethical ban against Dorje Shugden religion.

Contemplate This

.…Instead of turning away people who practise Dorje Shugden, we should be kind to them. Give them logic and wisdom without fear, then in time they give up the ‘wrong’ practice. Actually Shugden practitioners are not doing anything wrong. But hypothetically, if they are, wouldn’t it be more Buddhistic to be accepting? So those who have views against Dorje Shugden should contemplate this. Those practicing Dorje Shugden should forbear with extreme patience, fortitude and keep your commitments. The time will come as predicted that Dorje Shugden’s practice and it’s terrific quick benefits will be embraced by the world and it will be a practice of many beings.
