Important Announcement April 8, 2008 To the Tibetan public and monks, Since earlier time, those following monks under the affiliation of Sera-May pomra, whose names are listed together with their photos, have engaged in mere conceit exaggeration to around six thousands monks, in the name of Dholgyal (Dorje Shugden). For over two months, they obstructed and had to close the clinic, school, kitchen, and the spiritual studies of over 1300 monks in Sera-May monastery, as well as puja and the purification day in Sera Lachi monastery. Nevertheless, they accumulated grave negativities of launching immeasurable activities which contravenes the Gelugpa Charter. Therefore, the lords of law of Sera-Lachi monastery, disciplinarian Geshe Thupten Tendar and disciplinarian Geshe Tsultrim Gyaltsen have excommunicated them from the institution of Sera monastery. We thus call for Tibetan public and monks not to share religious and material resources with these persons.
This is a certificate to the effect that the holder does not share anything with Shugden devotees. Those non-Shugdenites must have this certificate to attend the Great Prayer festival at Drepung and Gaden.
Within Sera Monastery, this ‘certificate’ has to be carried around by the non-Dorje Shugden practitioners in order to be able to attend the Monlam Prayer Festival (New Year’s Prayers) which has been held yearly for 600 years since being instituted by Tsongkhapa himself. This certificate is signed and sealed by the authorities in the monastery that you are ‘clean’ and do not practice Dorje Shugden. It allows you freedom to join in the monastic activities. All this is happening at this moment and is welcomed by the ‘democratic’ exile Tibetan Government.
ID Card for Monlam (Great Prayer Festival) “The certificate for those who have already taken oath (not to share religious and material relationship with Shugden devotees)”
Report from Sera Monastery in South India February 25, 2008 The great prayer festival is being held at Sera Lachi monastery in Bylakupee, Karnataka State. Over 200 police were deployed around the assembly hall. The monks from Pomra who worship Dorje Shugden attended the prayer with protection from the police. But Shugden monks were not given tea, bread, and food, while other monks are having refreshment. These unprecedented horrible things happened as the result of the Dalai Lama’s speech on February 9, 2008.
