Testimony of a Victim of the Shugden Persecutions

It has been two decades since the Dalai Lama and his Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) unfairly and illegally imposed a religious ban against worshippers of the deity Dorje Shugden. And yet, because of who the Dalai Lama is perceived to be and because of his popularity and clever denials, many people are still unaware of the sufferings of Tibetan Buddhists because of their worship of their chosen deity.

Despite the atrocities, the Dalai Lama has denied that there is a ban and this denial is deftly propagated on a number of platforms run by Dalai Lama sycophants who know that the Tibetan people in the exile communities have little means to get stories of their plight out to the world, namely due to fear of retaliation by the CTA.

However, it has been 20 years and you can only oppress people for so long, even if you’re the Dalai Lama, before they reach a point where they choose to no longer fear. In the 20 years since the ban was imposed, the victims who were much younger during the onset of the religious persecution have grown up, and many Dorje Shugden practitioners have become aware of their rights. Some can no longer tolerate the CTA’s incompetence and its bullying ways. Others organized themselves on an international scale to defend their rights to religious freedom. People began speaking out.

This is the testimony of Kalsang Dolma, who was dragged into the controversy in 1996 when she was merely a young girl. She has witnessed how the Dalai Lama and his government have broken the Tibetan community at large, as well as individual families, with this ban. After much suffering, she has decided to speak up. This is her story.

As you say I must consider to share my experience of this ban, I would like to start now.

I was born to Tibetan refugee parents, in Gurupura Tibetan Settlements in Southern India.

My father was in a Tibetan guerrilla army and very kind hearted. His patriotic nature landed him in guerrilla army, fought with Chinese army on the way to India and was never happy with the way the present exile government was moving forward with lies and corruption.

(Editor’s note: the guerrilla army refers to the Chushi Gangdruk who fought against the Chinese army for Tibet’s liberation. The Chushi Gandruk also escorted the Dalai Lama along the perilous journey from Tibet to India)

My mother was a housewife and trying her best to meet the ends. We are five brothers and sisters.

I was with my parents till I completed my class ten. I felt my parents’ pain, my father’s nature, my mother’s hardship.

My father’s enthusiasm and straight forwardness was slowly inviting enemies inside the village. His greatest regret should be his sacrifice for the people and the Dalai Lama, his duty as an army to fight against Chinese.

After 6 decades in India, Dalai Lama became the face of Tibetans in the world, he forgot his escape and hardship, the government started to lie and create confusion among Tibetans, even the guerrilla armies went into two parts.

That very instance when Dalai Lama went against the guerrilla army and mentioned something which was beyond acceptable according to his notion, my father lost his faith in the government and the Dalai Lama.

I can see it was hurting him a lot. Then not long ago, came the Shugden issue to disturb him mentally.

My father trusted and had faith in Shugden because he experienced how Shugden saved his life from the well trained, well-armed Chinese army.

But we never had Shugden picture in our house, never do special kangsol and all.

Unless the Dalai Lama himself declared ban on this, I was not aware of the deity Dorje Shugden.

It was in year 1996, I was not aware of the deity. During the teaching, Dalai Lama declared that those who worship Shugden should not attend his teachings because he will not bless them. The Dalai Lama said Shugden stands as an obstacle in the struggle of freedom of Tibet. As long as I remember, he gave the above reason. That time I know we don’t worship and it was not meant for us.

But my mom told me that our neighbour ‘Dhondrup’ do all the rituals and worship the deity. I felt so bad for him.

And then, I carried on with my studies and since I don’t gossip much, I have no idea what was happening in the society. One fine day after few years of the Dalai Lama’s declaration against Shugden, I went back to my village and I was taken aback by the people’s reaction towards my neighbour just because of his worship of Shugden. He was boycotted in the village.

During prayer sessions in the village, people made offerings to only two of the lamas which actually was for three i.e. Ling Rinpoche, the Dalai Lama and Trichang Rinpoche. They purposely neglected Trichang Rinpoche. Their action poked my father’s sentiment and he tried to make sense with them. His sentiment was leading him to the darker life in the village.

As a daughter, I could not bear to see him sad and grumpy. I told him many times to let them do whatever, not to bother but he never let it go. If in those days, the Shugden worshippers raised their voice against the bully, and had taken proper legal measure, it will be stopped by itself… that’s my thinking.

Then, slowly, villagers actually didn’t like my father’s straightforwardness and friendship with his old guerrilla-days friends who are also Shugden worshippers.

All I remember is that the ban imposed by the Dalai Lama was carried further by the member of the legislation of exile government (the Central Tibetan Administration – CTA) and the poor ignorant villagers.

I was to marry a Shugdenpa and that news didn’t go well with the villagers.

My father passed away and the offering we used to distribute, they (the villagers) didn’t accept. So, my sister went to ask why it was rejected… why we have been met with this reaction. The amdo mla who was main during that time lived nearby said that they have boycotted us considering us as Shugdenpa. We were rejected because of the ban against Shugden and anyone regarded as Shugdenpa was rejected.

In dismay, my family could not do much. That time I was very young and naive.

I wish I was a bit brighter and had complained to the representative office though I know they were the one who initiated this problem. I would have known more clearly about the situation.

For the final rituals for my father’s passing, the monks in Gyurmey Datsang didn’t want to do the prayers for us because of the persecution against Shugdenpa. Fortunate enough, so many monks from Sera Pompara came to finish the rituals.

That was the time my family, my mother, my eldest sister, and my youngest sister openly embrace them and learnt more about the deity in question. My family was broken, those who are married to anti-Shugdenpa, carried on with their life.

I am sure the situation we went through has left a hole in them (who do not follow Shugden ) against the Dalai Lama’s initiation of the issue. Me, I am still learning about the deity. I raise my voice against the bullying, and against the people who step on other’s rights.

Now it’s my youngest brother who is suffering, and left confused.

He studied in SOS (Editor’s note: SOS Children’s Villages) run by the Dalai Lama’s sister. He didn’t embrace the deity but that’s his choice. But villagers never let him be in peace because we, his family were already labelled Shugdenpa. First they demanded a formal letter from his pledging that he will not worship Shugden. Even after that, he is still in dilemma about his status among Tibetans. They can even do this to an innocent boy who only wants to go to school. These Tibetan people still don’t accept him because he was always linked to us.

See, after going through all these emotional break downs, even though we accept it’s our karma, I still feel that Dalai Lama has done that to break the community because first he tried with guerrilla army and since, it did not serve his whatsoever purpose, he did with this. I feel it’s totally wrong and should not play with people’s mind.

I am stronger and wiser today to tackle with these kind of bullying which continues. I sort of become very sensitive when I see people get bullied.

I want to be there and help them raise their voice and encourage them to tackle them as long as you are with the laws.

Oh… this turmoil of emotions goes through thousands of worshippers and worse, few met with the stones, houses burnt, and even stabbed.

Kalsang’s story of persecution continues and her experience is shared by many, not only in the exile towns controlled by the CTA but also worldwide. The Dalai Lama and his government continue to deny the ban even as more and more accounts of their persecution of Shugdenpas surface. Looking at how Dorje Shugden lamas and people in free countries are abused just because of their Shugden practice, one shudders to think what Tibetan Shugden worshippers who have no choice but to live in the CTA-controlled exile villages undergo daily.

Kalsang Dolma is one of four million Dorje Shugden practitioners around the world who face discrimination and marginalization daily. And as more step forward to tell their stories, the world community is beginning to see the sinister nature of the Tibetan government in exile, who on the one hand demands justice and freedom from China but at the same time oppresses the people it is supposed to represent and protect. Examples of online abuses against Shugden worshippers, made with the CTA’s encouragement:

As a result of the CTA’s smear campaign, even highly venerated lamas are disparaged because they worship Dorje Shugden. This is the CTA clearly undermining the sanctity of Tibetan Buddhism.

Shugden worshippers and monks receive such verbal assaults daily. Does this not indicate persecution against people based on their religion? Why doesn’t the Dalai Lama speak against such abuse?

Those who have been victimized are fed up and these few lines by Kalsang Dolma capture the rising sentiment amongst the Tibetan people:

I am stronger and wiser today to tackle with these kind of bully. I sort of become very sensitive when I see people get bullied. I want to be there and help them raise their voice. Encourage them to tackle them as long as you are with the laws.

Kalsang Dolma’s words reflect the winds of change that are blowing in the face of the self-serving politicians in the CTA. Times are changing and as a new breed of Tibetan leaders such as Lukar Jam Atsock emerge, who are prepared to see the Shugden controversy for what it really is, the CTA’s days are quite clearly numbered.

I am confident I will resolve this [Shugden] controversy, which is threatening to tear apart the Tibetan community. To me Shugden is a small issue, but due to the mistaken policies we have made it a big issue, basically we have blown it out of proportion.

  1. It is heartbreaking to know that the Tibetans are oppressed by their very own people who have being misled by CTA and still many are being misled.

    CTA is politically motivated. They don’t care much the future of Tibetans.

  5. We really have to thank the Buddha for the internet, otherwise this Dorje Shugden issue will be covered up by the CTA and the pro dalai lama camp. It is a lot worst for the tibetans in exile as they have to deal with such a thing day in and day out.

    I do not want to say much, but I will say that the way that Anti DS people express themselves online on social media pertaining to the DS issue is very much a reflection of the level of their minds and how much dharma they are practicing. May the ban be quickly dissolved for the benefit of all.

  6. It is sad to see Tibetans hurting Tibetans. It is sad to see a so called “democratic” administration encouraging their own people, community, and nation be SPLIT! It goes to show what kind of leadership Tibetans in exile have and it is definitely not one for the people as a whole. This is what smart, intelligent, educated Tibetans are seeing like Lukar Jam and like the student of the Tibetan Children Village who questioned their Sikyong. I think the CTA will have to rethink their strategiy of lies because you cannot foold everyone forever and true government do not take sides and do not discriminate another group of people due to their different religious beliefs.

    It is archaic and it is time they move on with the times or move over because time’s running out as the Dalai Lama will not be forever be around to be your promoter and spokesperson. It is high time to amend your ways, lift the ban and find resolution within your own people before you can even begin to ask for one for Tibetans in China. As the saying goes… please clean your own mess in your own house first!

  7. It is really sad to see such discrimination even until today. Why would Buddhism encourage hatred just because of difference in belief?

    This unnecessary discrimination/ban MUST be stopped!!

  9. People always ask for evidence of the ban, show evidence of the discrimination within the Tibetan community which is perfectly the proof of what people are asking for.

    What Kalsang has written is only one case of what has happened for her family. But what many people do not see is that many other Tibetans are also suffering the same fate.

    It is just so horrible that they even force a young boy to swear out of the practice and not contact his family when they are labelled as Shugdenpas. Saddening as they have never given a thought to what will happen for the young boy when he has sworn in and separated from his family. When that happens, who is going to take care of his daily expenses? The people that have forced him to disown his family? I think not. He will be on his own. Yet, all he wanted to do is to get an education to help the family in the future but due to the ban on CTA, he is not able to do so.

    This is not fair and inhumane. If the Tibetans cannot even look up to their own government to ask for help, who else can they go to? What is the point for them to be still believing in H.H. Dalai Lama and the CTA?

  10. I failed in so many areas of my life. I wasted my relationships. I messed up my spiritual life. I use to practice Dorje Shugden. I was never taught to damage or hurt anyone by doing this practice. But because of my romantic infatuation with one of the monks in our organization I got mixed up and messed up and left. I am regretting it now. I protest and write against NKT because I can’t accept my mistakes. Sometimes I want to get help, sometimes I don’t. I am ashamed. Easier to blame others. Easier to call NKT a cult and lay the fault on them. I wanted to find blame where there was none. I left NKT and now I encourage others to leave. I know I can’t keep doing this because I am so frustrated with my life as I have accomplished nothing. All I have ever done is run and escape. I have to stop all the nasty talk I do and blaming others. But I need help to stop. I need help. I don’t like psycho-analysts and psychologists because what they say hurts. Truth hurts.

  11. My heart goes out to Kalsang and others like her who have been victimised by anti-Dorje Shugden people in her community. They must come together and form a strong group to defend themselves and speak up against the discrimination. In unity there is strength. The Tibetans in India who are discriminated against must unite, fight for their rights, and bring the ban down.

    Thank you for speaking up about the discrimination that you are facing within the Tibetan community. I think it is important that people like you continue to speak up to bring awareness of what is really happening within the Tibetan community. CTA and the Dalai Lama always emphasise to the world that the Dalai Lama’s statements on Dorje Shugden is only an advice, but if it is only an advice, then there should be no consequences of practicing or being associated with this deity.

    The world should know your plight because only by building this kind of awareness, the international pressure would build up and CTA will be moved to lessen or stop the persecution.


  13. As this article has highlighted, more and more people are getting the courage within the Tibetan community to speak up against this ban. From the monastic point of view, many have kept the practice of Dorje Shugden, as both Serpom Monastery and Shar Gaden Monastery are testament to. However this such cohesion amongst lay Dorje Shugden practitioners has not occurred to that great an extent. This is most likely due to Tibetan culture, in which lay people are subservient to the Tibetan Administration rather than the Administration serving the people, as any good and democratic government should be doing.

    From the testament above, we can see that this ban is more than just about religious practice, it has crossed over into secular life, with people persecuted among their own communities. This ban is very detrimental to the Tibetan peoples. Used as a control tactic and smoke screen to hide their own inefficiencies, the Tibetan Administration is alienating its own people. This will have devastating consequences in the future, in which the Tibetan diaspora will really lose touch with their own cultural heritage.

  14. This is a very sad story of what is happening out there in the Tibetan Exile Communities. Not only that people have lost their old life, culture and country but they get persecuted for being kind and open.

    What a poor image the Tibetan Government and people shows. It should be normal to be kind no matter what protector practice they have. It is normal to respect a family whose father has passed away.

    How can this happen in this day and age.
    Indeed the Dalai Lama is powerful and respected all over but if this behaviour gets known more, his reputation will suffer. This can not be accepted. Everyone has the right to religious freedom.

  15. And the Dalai Lama and his stateless government insist that there is no ban. I am very certain that this is not an isolated case and a lot of Tibetans have been similarly affected but are too afraid to tell their stories.

    This makes this testimony very important and I hope this will encourage more victims of the CTA’s oppression to surface and testify.

  16. Even when people want to stay out of the conflict, they’re not allowed to and dragged into it. People who are apathetic towards Shugden, let them be. The CTA shouldn’t force them to create more negative karma by harming others.

I do not doubt these testimonials because I have a Tibetan old lady friend and I have seen how much she suffers because her family have split up with her and now she is living on her own with just one daughter because she practices this deity. How sad. We are in India, in the land of where spiritual freedom is given to everyone but the Tibetan suppressed their own people and in created laws that is actually against the Indian democratic law of religious freedom. I do not understand why is the CTA so unforgiving and so evil towards their own people who have already suffered so much from their lost of their country. This tells me this CTA is not really for the people but rather just another greedy power hungry politicians.

It is really so sad that such primitive attitudes still exist today when the world has progressed so much from the days of serfdom, accepted racial discrimination etc. We are in the era where freedom of worship and freedom of religious freedom is the fundamental for both developed nations and third world countries alike. This is especially when these freedoms are practiced in private without effecting others.

    I hope that your voice will lend hope and courage and some comfort to those who are suffering alone. I hope your words of truth and personal loss will move the hearts of world leaders and humanitarian fighters to support the fight to lift this ban.

  19. Looking at those comments by anti-Shugden people who are supporters of Dalai Lama, you already know something is seriously wrong. Either Dalai Lama taught them to say those things, or Dalai Lama planted hatred in their mind that made them say those nasty things. In front of the world Dalai Lama preaches peace and harmony, behind the scene, this is what he taught his followers, or influenced his followers to do.

I’m more than 100% sure that what Kelsang Dolma has experienced really did happened because this is how the leadership does things, they would do anything to stop the proliferation of Dorje Shugden practice, even if it means hurting others. In the Tibetan society, as long as someone dislikes you, the chances of you being hurt or even killed are very high, this is their culture and I have nothing to say about that even it seems wrong to me.

    It’s very good that this beautiful lady here spoke up, she risked her life to protect the Tibetans, to protect Tibet. I hope that more Tibetans will start to speak up against their extremely corrupted leadership because they too deserve religious freedom.

  21. This post proved that there is really a ban. No advice, especially one that is up to an individual to decide, would cause this kind of destruction and separation. No advice should stop people from seeing each other and split family. People should be leave in peace if it is merely an advice, they should be able to enjoy their basic rights like shopping, education, travel etc. Worst still people can be labelled as Dorje Shugden practitioners and be discriminated even though they are not one. It is unfair that one has to live in constant fear just because they choose a religious practice in a democratic country. None of these makes any sense and will not make sense until we accept that there is a ban.

  22. Reading about these anti-Shugden people just makes me sick in the stomach. Why would anybody be so vulgar and rude over a religious issue. How can these people call themselves Buddhists and go for teachings with their lamas or even talk about getting a blessing. Wouldn’t a blessing be shutting their mouths up and just transfer all that aggression and energy towards something that benefits instead?

  23. These are Dalai Lama’s supporters, they are rude and vulgar, there is nothing human about them to attack another monk like that, dont even mention being Buddhists. And you wonder why Dalai Lama does not stop all these, but remain silent about these attacks that created so much negative karma. You wonder why.

  24. To punish a family whose member has just passed away is just embarrassing and they have no care or compassion for someone else’s pain.

    What an example are they showing to others, their family, the whole world and themselves. This is unacceptable and everyone knows that I suppose…

  25. It is very disheartening to see the discrimination towards Dorje Shugden practitioners. Even in this testimonial where Kalsang’s brother is not a Shugden practitioner were asked to write letter to declare he did not practice.

    Why such discrimination and segregation among the Tibetans? Everyone has right in religious freedom and in a democratic country there shouldn’t have such supression. No only that the ban has created a bias society to have different treatment just because of practise. This is not acceptable.

We need to hear Tibetan people like Kelsang speaking up more and to create awareness on such testimonials and experience because this is a real 1st hand experienced person.It will also inspire many more Kelsang like her to speak up, and stand up for your rights and the injustice ban that has caused so much suffering for so many families and friends. Please do not be silent as silence would only mean that you agree to the discrimination and ban and to throw away your human rights to religious freedom. I hope to see more and more Tibetans voicing out their rights as they deserve some peace and freedom since they already lost their country, they do not need to now lose their religion and protector too!

  27. Thank you Kelsang Dolma for sharing your painful story here. I am glad that from the suffering you faced, your are stronger and stand up against the discrimination and injustice.
    The anti-Shugdens declare that Shugden is a “ghost” and yet it is them who does not practice the Buddha’s teachings of compassion to all sentient beings. Wouldn’t that make the Shugden practitioners more true, with integrity and loyalty to their Gurus and practice.
    Its appalling to see how the anti-Shugdens so vulgar in their comments against such highly attained Lamas from which the lineage teachings had come through. HH Trijang Rinpoche and HH Zong Rinpoche are absolutely without faults and yet this people, supposedly “Buddhists” can disparage the Sangha without guilt. In fact they rejoice and try to top each other by being more vulgar than the other. What sadden me is that they have no idea of how they are affecting their own karma and those of their Gurus.
    May the Dalai Lama in his wisdom recognise the terrible degeneration of the dharma and swiftly lift the ban before pure teachings disappear.

  28. Every SINGLE DAY in the past 20 years, millions of people like Kalsang Dolma suffered an unspeakable fate. Kalsang Dolma is one of the 4million Dorje Shugden practitioners around the world who face this sad plight but not many dare to step forward to tell their stories. When will the world starts to see the sinister nature of the Tibetan government in exile (CTA), who on the one hand demands justice and freedom from China but at the same time oppresses the people it is supposed to represent and protect? Dalai Lama and CTA can stopped all these sufferings. They can lift the ban and restore peace & harmony, men broken relationship; BUT they did NOT do it.

  29. It is very sad to read of the fist hand account of people who are right smack in the middle of a discrimination. In this case, they were not actively getting involved in politics.

    The Tibetans mus be educated not to simply take sides and hound the others. They do have to learn to have empathy and sympathy.

    Guess, that’s what Buddhism is teaching. The old saying of “you can bring a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink”.

    You can the Dharma to these people who are making life so hard for the Shugden practitioner but you cannot make them embrace it.

    Maybe it is their karma. Maybe they just don’t want to make the effort. It is always easier to follow where comfort is – in this case what the leaders say. Toe the line and there will be no problem!! Sounds like a dictatorship to me.

  30. What will the all the people around the world and in Tibet do now? Dalai Lama says he is happy that Tibet is a part of China and should remain a part of China. So many Tibetans self-immolated for Tibet to be independent and now Dalai Lama did a 360 degree turn and says he wants to go back to Tibet and China and Tibet should be a part of China. So unbelievable. So many are angry and disappointed.

    Tibetans are ready to be a part of China if guaranteed full rights to preserve their culture, the Dalai Lama said on Friday.
    “Tibetans are not asking for independence. We are okay with remaining with the People’s Republic of China, provided we have full rights to preserve our culture,” the 83-year-old spiritual leader said at “Thank You Karnataka” event here in the city.
    Organised by the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), the event was a part of “Thank You India – 2018″ held by the Tibetan community across India to mark 60 years of its exile in the country.
    “Several of Chinese citizens practicing Buddhism are keen on Tibetan Buddhism as it is considered scientific,” the Nobel laureate said.
    Born in Taktser hamlet in northeastern Tibet, the Dalai Lama was recognized at the age of two as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama, Thubten Gyatso. He fled to India from Tibet after a failed uprising against the Chinese rule in 1959.
    China annexed Tibet in 1950, forcing thousands of Tibetans, including monks, to flee the mountain country and settle in India as refugees.
    Since then, India has been home to over 100,000 Tibetans majorly settled in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh among other states.


  31. Dear Dalai Lama,

    Since you started the cruel ban against the 350 year Dorje Shugden practice, how has it benefit your Tibetan society and Buddhism in the world? Things have become worse and most educated Tibetans can see this. They don’t speak out not because they don’t see your ban as wrong, but you instill fear in them and not respect. It is like fear of a dictator. I am sorry to say so. Everyone is divided. There is no harmony. Before your ban there was more harmony and unity.

    By enacting the ban, you split the monasteries, split so many families, split regions in Tibet apart, split your disciples from you, split your own gurus from you, split Tibetan Buddhism apart. You have created so much disharmony.

    It is not democratic what you have done to ban a religion within your community. You always talk of tolerance and acceptance and democracy and yet you do not accept and tolerate something different from your beliefs. When people practice Dorje Shugden you ostracize them, ban them from seeing you, ban them from using Tibetan facilities. You know you have done that. There are videos that capture your speech and prove this point. You even had people expelled from monasteries just because they practice Dorje Shugden. Some of the monks you expelled have been in the monastery for over 40 years. Many older monks shed tears because of this.

    Many young educated Tibetans lost confidence in you as they saw the damage the Dorje Shugden ban created and they lose hope. Many have become free thinkers. They reject what you have done. So many people in the west left Buddhism because of the confusion you created with this ban against Dorje Shugden which is immoral.

    You could of had millions of people who practice Dorje Shugden to support, love and follow you, but you scared them away. They are hurt and very disappointed. They loved you and respected you deeply before the ban. It has been 60 years and you have failed to get Tibet back. Your biggest failure is not getting Tibet back after 57 years in exile. Now you are begging China to allow you to return to Tibet to the disappointment of thousands of people who fought for a free Tibet believing in you. So many self-immolated for a free Tibet and now you want Tibet to be a part of China with no referendum from Tibetans. Just like a dictator, you decide on your own. It was your government and you that lost Tibet in the first place. Your policies and style of doing things do not benefit Tibet and Buddhism. You have been the sole ruler of Tibet your whole life and you still have not gotten our country of Tibet back for us. Our families and us are separated. Yet you create more pain by creating a ban to further divide people. Please have compassion.

    No other Buddhist leader has banned or condemned any religion except for you. It looks very bad. You are a Nobel laureate and this is not fitting of a laureate. You should unite people and not separate them by religious differences.

    You said Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi did not do right to the Rohingya people in Myanmar due to religious differences, but you are doing the same thing to the Shugden Buddhists within your own society. There is a parallel in this. You separate the Shugden Buddhists from the others in Tibetan society.

    You have lost so many people who would have loved and supported you. You have lost so much support around the world. The Shugden Buddhists who love you number in the millions. When you are fast losing support from governments and private people, it will not do you well to lose more.

    After you are passed away in the future, the rift you created between the Dorje Shugden and non-Dorje Shugden people will remain for a while and that will be your legacy. Disharmony. You will be remembered for this. Not as a hero but a disharmony creator.

    Dorje Shugden will spread and further grow, but you will be no more as you are a human. No one wishes you bad and in fact we hope you have a long and healthy life, but we have lost so much hope and have so much despair because of you. All the hundreds of Dorje Shugden lamas, tulkus and geshes are maturing and there are hundreds of Dorje Shugden monasteries in Tibet who will not give up Dorje Shugden. You have made a mistake. These hundreds of teachers and teachers to be will spread Dorje Shugden further in the future.

    The gurus that gave us Dorje Shugden as a spiritual practice and you have called these holy gurus wrong and they are mistaken in giving us Dorje Shugden. How can you insult our gurus whom we respect so much? If they can be wrong, then you can be wrong. Then all gurus can be wrong. So no one needs to listen to any guru? You have created this trend. It is not healthy. Your own gurus practiced Dorje Shugden their whole lives. Your own gurus were exemplary and highly learned.

    Dalai Lama you have created so much pain with this ban against so many people due to religion. You are ageing fast. Are you going to do anything about it or stay stubborn, hard and un-moving. You show a smile and preach peace and harmony wherever you go. But will you do the same to your own people? Please rectify the wrong you have done. Please before it is too late. You can create harmony again or you can pass away in the future with this legacy of peace. May you live long and think carefully and admit what was a mistake in having this unethical ban against Dorje Shugden religion.

Contemplate This

.…Instead of turning away people who practise Dorje Shugden, we should be kind to them. Give them logic and wisdom without fear, then in time they give up the ‘wrong’ practice. Actually Shugden practitioners are not doing anything wrong. But hypothetically, if they are, wouldn’t it be more Buddhistic to be accepting? So those who have views against Dorje Shugden should contemplate this. Those practicing Dorje Shugden should forbear with extreme patience, fortitude and keep your commitments. The time will come as predicted that Dorje Shugden’s practice and it’s terrific quick benefits will be embraced by the world and it will be a practice of many beings.
