The Three Principal Aspects of the Path: During His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 1982 teachings at Institute Vajra Yogini, France, Lama Yeshe was asked to “baby-sit” the audience for a couple of days when His Holiness manifested illness.

The result of this session is this excellent two-part introduction to the path to enlightenment, in which Lama explains Renunciation, Bodhicitta and the right view of Emptiness.

Lama Yeshe’s style of teaching, jokes and banter endears him to many generations of Dharma practitioners in the West. He was an exceptionally strong practitioner of Dorje Shugden as well.

  1. I just read the new thread on forum about Lama Yeshe, http://www.dorjeshugden.com/forum/index.php?topic=1318.0

I felt his way of teaching Dharma is unconventional and is suitable at this modern time. It is interesting to read about this great master on the forum.

  2. Lama Yeshe was borned in Tibet in 1935. At a very early age he expressed a desire to live a religious life. So at the age of 6 his parents granted permission for him to enter Sera monastery. When he was 8 years old he was ordained as a novice monk. He received many teachings from many great masters and became a fully ordained monk at the age of 28.

He has strong faith in the dharma and would not like to live the life with his parents though he love them very much. He understand the suffering of samsara and prefer to live a religious life and to benefit many people.

  3. Lama Yeshe passed-on in 1984 of heart failure. He was announced to pass away very soon 10 years before 1984 because of his bad heart, it was a miracle from medical point of view to have live for that long with that health conditions.

He has strong faith in Dharma that this is the antidote to all sufferings. According to Lama Yeshe, his faith to mantra keeps him alive for the last 10 years.

    That’s amazing.

Contemplate This

.…Instead of turning away people who practise Dorje Shugden, we should be kind to them. Give them logic and wisdom without fear, then in time they give up the ‘wrong’ practice. Actually Shugden practitioners are not doing anything wrong. But hypothetically, if they are, wouldn’t it be more Buddhistic to be accepting? So those who have views against Dorje Shugden should contemplate this. Those practicing Dorje Shugden should forbear with extreme patience, fortitude and keep your commitments. The time will come as predicted that Dorje Shugden’s practice and it’s terrific quick benefits will be embraced by the world and it will be a practice of many beings.
