400,000 in Chatreng Sampheling Monastery!
« on: July 13, 2014, 07:23:04 AM »
I am so excited by this throng of 400,000 Chatrengpas at the Monlam Festival in Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche’s Sampheling Monastery in Chatreng, Tibet from 5-12 March, 2014.  Do you know that this number of Chatrengpas have already far outnumbered the numbers of Tibetans in exile whether they are Shugden Buddhist or not?  No one can stop the DS practice from spreading like wild fire.   This is the prevailing scenario of the great protector of our time!

This almost astronomical figure testifies to how many people there are and many more who love and respect and remember the kindness of their guru Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche.

Sampheling is being rebuilt into a larger than ever monastery. It has a three-storey Lama Tsongkhapa statue! It has 100s of monks and 1000s of laypeople, most famous of which is Ajeka, who are mainly responsible for the funding and rebuilding of this monastery. Their guru devotion is seen as all the more powerful in the absence of their guru. Their devotion to Dorje Shugden is equally powerful. They were also the ones who supported and helped Dalal Lama in his successful escape from Tibet. So no one can deny the fact that they love the Dalai Lama and revere him highly.

For years His Holiness Dalai Lama has been the greatest ambassador of Tibetan Buddhism.  Had the ban on Dorje Shugden not been initiated at all, we would perhaps have seen the grandeur of Tibetan Buddhism. The scenario will definitely be better than what we are seeing at Chatreng.  Unfortunately, the ban had not only tarnished the image of Tibetan Buddhism and Buddhists, it had created so much disharmony amongst Tibetan Buddhists not to mention the other severe and heavy consequences. At this degenerate age when the practice of Buddshim is on the decline, His Holiness Dalai Lama could do better to promote than to cause a disinterest in Tibetan Buddhism.  Due to the ban, His Holiness' reputation is similarly tarnished.

His Holiness Dalai Lama, have you thought about these negative effects that you have created from the ban on Dorje Shugden?  Could His Holiness please enlighten us how the ban on Dorje Shugden is beneficial when all that we have seen is only sufferings?

This is really encouraging to hear for practitioners of Dorje Shugden in other parts of the world. It is good to know that the tradition of the practice and guru devotion is alive and well. The Dalai Lama himself claiming that his own Guru's were mistaken in their belief that Dorje Shugden was a fully enlightened protector, some what denigrated guru devotion is my eyes, but I am glad to see the Chatrengpa's keep their own Guru devotion alive and well.

This is such a great share! Thank you for sharing this! It brings tears to my eyes to see such photos because more and more people are daring themselves from all parts of the world to come forth and not worried to be exposed as a Dorje Shugden practitioners. Looks like everyone is gaining more confidence! I have much respect for Ajeka who's Guru Devotion is exemplary for everyone to respect.

True followers of Lama Tsongkapa,Pabongka and Trijang Rinpoche are growing day by day.How can Dorje Shugden be an evil spirit when there are so many Dorje Shugden practitioners in this region of Kham where They have practiced for generations.

400,000 is a huge number!!! There is definitely a lot of people against the claims of the CTA that only a minority is practicing Dorje Shugden. And this is only in Chatreng, What about the other parts of the world? Like what Icy said, it is more than the Tibetans in exile.

All of them are followers of Trijang Rinpoche, who have not step foot in the Monastery before. This shows the deep guru devotion they have for their guru. Surely an example to follow.

Ajeka and the people of Chatreng put in much effort in the past twenty years building and maintaining this Monastery. They worked hard to protect their Guru and preserve Dorje Shugden tradition. With this enormous figure of attendance during the recent Monlam Festival, it just proved that there are still so many people out there who love and have tremendous faith and strong devotion to Kyaje  Trijang Rinpoche and to the practice  of Dorje Shugden!!!

Amazing indeed! With a huge crowd of 400000 attending the Monlam Festival, even more than the total number of Tibetans -in-exile, can anyone doubt that in Tibet in China, Dorje Shugden practice is flourishing!

Chatreng Sampheling Monastery monks and laypeople are to be admired and greatly respected  for their strong Guru Devotion. In  the absence of their Guru, the illustrious Kyabje Trijang Rinpocche, their Guru devotion is all the more  remarkable. Ajeka, for one, who spent all of 20 years in the building of the Monastery, is to be lauded for his fierce Guru Devotion and his being a strong and unshakeable Shugden practitioner.

The impressive 3-storey statue of Tsongkhapa is testimony  to the hard work and determination of the people of Chatreng, especially its 100s of monks and 1000s have lay-people.

Chatreng Sampheling Monastery must surely be remembered for having produced members of the band of Chushi Gangchuk warriors, selected by Dorje Shugden, through the Panglung Oracle, who escorted HH Dalai Lama to safety in his flight from China to India.

That is an amazingly impressive spectacle, and concrete evidence of the loyalty of the Tibetan people to the legendary HH Trijang Rinpoche and his protector Dorje Shugden. When everything is stacked against these Tibetans because of the ban on Dorje Shugden, yet they openly come out to declare their support by their physical presence, it speaks much for the calibre of Dorje Shugden practitioners. Chatreng has become synonymous with tenacity, strength and loyalty, and all this could be at the Dalai Lama's feet, yet he chose to stigmatise Dorje Shugden practitioners instead. Should HH Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche return to Tibet, can you imagine the welcome he would be accorded with! That would definitely be an amazing sight to behold!

Amazing when so many Tibetans express their religious devotion freely on Monlam Prayer festival just in one monastery alone. The festival was introduced by Lama Tsongkhapa who is in the Gelug lineage. This was one of four great deeds Lama Tsongkhapa has done during his lifetime. Back in days before the Tibetans exiled Tibet the Monlam festival was held in Jokhang Temple, Lhasa, annually. It was very great a yearly event for the Tibetans. It would be great if there are photos taken from the past in their full glory for all to see.

If there is no ban, would be there 1 million to turn up? Even in sleep, I dream one day that the ban is lifted and all can "party" together. (party in the sense of doing puja, receive teachings etc). May this ban, though with a lot of suffering and hardship, help to spread Buddhism in the 10 directions and benefit many.

The Monlam festival is one of the 4 great deeds of Lama Tsongkhapa (the other being building the great monasteries of Gaden, Drepung and Sera, Reviving the Vinaya and the restoration of the ruins of the Maitreya Statue in Dzingji Temple. Among others great deeds are offering a Golden Crown to Jowo Rinpoche and writing of the Lamrim Chenmo). This festival gives impetus for practitioners to clean and offer new statues, Thangkas and extensive offerings to the 3 Jewels, give support to the sangha and not leaving holy items in a state of neglect. It is a great way and reminder to constantly practice and uphold the Dharma as the most important thing in our precious human rebirth.

Hence, the Monlam festival at Chatreng Sampheling Monastery attended by 400,000 people (more than the entire Tibetan in exile population in India) to me, signals the revival of Lama Tsongkhapa practice and as important, the Protector of Lama Tsongkapa's teaching, the Great Protector, Manjughosha Dorje Shugden. I rejoice.

May Trijang Rinpoche live long!

Amazing number!!! this is clearly a good sign that Dorje Shugden Practice is very well accepted and practice by more and more Monks and lay people. It shows that DS is not a Spirit, because we have all the facts and lineages of Dorje Shugden who is an emanation of Manjushri. Really rejoice and excited to see this photo of the sangha in Chatreng Sampheling Monastery!!
