LATEST NEWS REGARDING SERA MONASTERY
« on: February 14, 2008, 09:41:42 PM »
THE FOLLOWING WAS SENT FROM THE DORJE SHUGDEN SOCIETY IN DELHI. WE APPRECIATE THEM UPDATING US SO WE CAN POST ON THIS WEBSITE AND HAVE EVERYONE INFORMED.

February 13, 2008,

Additional Commissioner of Police, who is especial
representative for Tibetans, summoned a meeting at Sera-May monastery,
Bylakupee, South India. It was attended by, from our side, Geshe Thupten
Kunsang, Geshe Thupten Sampel, Geshe Tenzin Tsering, and the representative of
Local Dorje Shugden Society; and from their side, Gen Rabgya, the abbot of
Sera-May monastery and Representative of the Dalai Lama in Tibetan settlement. The
meeting started at 2.30 pm and lasted 5.30.

In the meeting, AC asked both parties to resolve the issue
between yourselves. It is not allowed to create any kind problem in the
monastery. We have already passed a law. If things get worse, we would tighten
the law, and the monastery could be sealed forever. Our Indian government will
not keep quite.

Last night there was a meeting held at Sera-Lachi; they
decided to hold the great prayer festival. A batch which has written: "not
to share religious and meterail amenities with Shugden devotees were made for
the participants of the great prayer festival. When I am writing this, the
great prayer festival is not yet be held.

Fantastic!  It seems the Indian Government thru the commissioner wishes to have the issue resolved. If unresolved they threaten to seal Sera Monastery. That type of threat should relax the fanatical elements of Sera Jey Monastery to be easier with Sera Mey and Pomra Khangtsen. Sera Jey threatens that they will not participate with Dorje Shugden practitioners of Sera Mey.

That could set a good trend for the monks of Dokhang Khangtsen in Gaden Shartse Monastery.

Please everyone, locate the email and addresses of this commissioner and email/write in.

Whoever finds the contacts, please post as soon as possible.
