Dharamsala, Dec 27 (ANI): Tibetan Prime Minister-in-exile, Lobsang Sangay hit out at China after media reported about growing ties between Beijing and a Buddhist religious sect, whose members have organised protests against the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, globally.
Sangay said Beijing was using Shugden community to divide the Tibetan society. The protesters are members of a sect that worships Dorje Shugden, a deity its devotees revere as a protector. The Dalai Lama discourages the practice, advising his followers that Dorje Shugden is a malevolent spirit. The Shugden worshippers accuse the Tibetan spiritual leader of persecuting them for their beliefs. The Dalai Lama has set up Tibetan government-in-exile in Dharamsala.

Makes me really wonder if the CTA PM ever went through any form of problem solving 101?

I mean instead of barking at China, this should be easy to solve right, just stop the ban and harassing the Dorje Shudgen people. Then China, also won't see this Dorje Shugden issue as a means to split Tibetans up. QED.

Oh my! Dharmaspace, you sure hit the nail on the head! The fastest way to diffuse all the name calling the allegations and the slandering and accusations is to just lift the ban and there will be nothing to argue about! Bingo!

Very much agreed. Why don't you stop the discrimination?

The CTA is using the Dorje Shugden ban to split the Tibetan community. What nonsense he is talking about?

Sangay is obviously pushed to a corner to say what he said. He is from a part of Tibet where Shugden practice is strong in the community, probably have to prove himself countless of times that he is on the nonDS side.

The Shugden issue have been politicized, we all know that. But the problem is, the practitioners have to suffer, while the DL supporters, oblivious to the fact that the issue is not really about DS is a spirit or DS is supported by China. The CTA can give as many reasons as they want, but in the end we all know the issue was manipulated for gains of power and influence.

This are signs of the weakening position of the CTA. First they use Lama Tseta, a very discreditable source and then use a very ignorant western reporter from a very lame news agency who does laughable journalistic practice; doesn't check the facts and to top it all use all this to piss of one of the biggest power in the world.

It is as though the CTA is left with no other option to defend their position. Not a single thread of evidence have ever been given to any of their accusations. All are based on hearsay and heresy.

Sorry to say, this like this can only convince those biased in the first place, to support their cognitive ignorance. Like saying industrial emissions are eco friendly.

Just junks!

This is going to benefit China more and more and people impression of China will improve too. It shows that China is changing while CTA continues to blame China incessantly.

Whatever excuses given by CTA have been proven unfounded.  :-\

I like what Fruven said that China is changing and CTA as shown is not.

How could Lobsang Sangay expects any result as what he is doing with CTA had been the same for last 60 years. I was told that when you keep doing the same thing over and over again and again and expects different results is called Insanity.

It is time, CTA should not blame others, in this instance China, but have a good look at yourself, and do what is best for Tibetans in exile.

Why put the blame on others , the CTA is the one that create all these disharmony among the Tibethan community, just get it over by lifting the DS ban so everyone can live their life in peace and no discrimination.

Yes, I agree with @grandmapele: Just stop the ban towards Dorje Shugden practitioners, then the China government has nothing to harp on. CTA seems to forget, it is CTA who started the ban towards Shugden practitioners FIRST, then only the China government trying to get close to Shugden practitioners.

Stop the ban NOW!!

China has released a few statements regarding their stand on religious freedom. CTA can think however they want, or everyone should think 'China is their enemy'. However it is quite unfortunate for them that the so called enemy is getting better. The fact that China allows religious freedom is quite commendable in itself. If China is willing to change I don't see any wrong Tibetan region being governed by China. It is a fact that China did invade Tibet and the Tibetan leaders lost control. The same have happened to other countries conquered in the past. We cannot change the past. How do we move on in best ways?

The Tibetan Prime Minister-in-exile appears to have very few cards left to play.  First of all, the CTA has reneged on its promise to win Tibet its independence from China . Now Lobsang Sangay puts down the Tibetans who fight for full freedom(more than 100 Tibetans have self immolated for the cause of Tibet's independence!) and says that the CTA are no longer working for full independence for Tibet from China, but instead are now focused on working for autonomy! The CTA's ploy of using Shugden practitioners as a scapegoat to blame for Tibet not getting its Independence, may now be starting to be seen through.

Yes, I agree with Dharma Space. Why go and blame China for its ties with Shugden people( who are peacefully requesting the lifting of the ban on Shugden practice)? Why such a tangle? Cut the Gordian knot! Lift the ban that had been imposed by you in the first place. Then all will be resolved.

It is karma that the causes you create will come back to you. You cause a ban that disturbs so many people, the people will retaliate towards you. You cause a problem, then it will exist in your midst. But if you complain that you are being bothered by something you created, who will help you? Who will listen? If a murderer complains that his tools were stolen, who will care? Maybe that comparison is a bit much, but the idea is still the same.

But at the same time, we should not have any violent protests and have civilised ones (not saying we have violent ones). But there is only one way out for you guys, just do it already! You keep changing your story and causing problems, we have had enough of it! Just stop the ban!

Haha! Yes, I agree with Dharmaspace. If they had lifted the ban then there won't be the opportunity for China to take advantage of, right?!! Lobsang Sangay really needs a refresher course on logic thinking and good governance. Why hit out at China when you are the one creating the problem and opening up weak points for China to seize. Of course having said that, as usual Lobsang Sangay's accusations have not proven to be true. Maybe before accusing, he should gather evidence first?

Agree that instead of creating such a fuss about China’s conduct or ties with Dorje Shugden practitioners etc, CTA should just lift the ban and then no more such issue for CTA to be concerned about. But then again, it hardly surprising for them to make such hue and cry, as when CTA is cornered and has nothing valid to go on, they revert to what they do best, create outburst to draw attention away from the real issue at hand. That is why CTA is behind the Dorje Shugden ban completely as it is a convenient scapegoat to distort and distract people of their failures to date.
Except that time has changed, people are more informed of the situation, becoming more aware of the contradictions or illogic of CTA’s claims and able to see through such ploy. With more and more questioning the conduct (or rather misconducts) of CTA, guess it is just a matter of time for CTA.

OMG this is so ridiculous I don't even know where to begin!

Well Mr. Lobsang Sangay thanks for warning us that "we are being used as toold" to divide Tibetan... if you did not DIVIDE us in the first place... we will not be used as TOOLS!!! What on earth do you take us for? We are not all illiterate yak farmers here! Please spare us your concern and FIX the MAIN PROBLEM BY DIVIDING YOU OWN PEOPLE IN THE VERY FIRST PLACE. Why are we PERSECUTED just like the news reporter said... that the Dalai Lama has advice to stop the practice and stop mingling with people who does the practice. Doesn't that cause division already? Why is it that you can mingle with anyone in the whole universe, even aliens, but not us Shugden people? Are we not part of the definition of "sentient beings"???

By the way China has more religious freedom then sticking around Dharamsala... it is no wonder that Amchok Rinpoche, Dalai Lama’s former biographer decided to sayonara to China and he received His visa immediately the very next day!Recently during His Holiness the Panchen Lama’s first and historic Kalacakra initiation on 21 July 2016 in Shigatse, Tibet, the abbot emeritus of Ganden Shartse Monastery, Amchok Rinpoche attended the first few days of the event. Sure doesn't look like there is a future in Dharamsala... soon many will have to either be Indians or leave India if you are rich enough to do so... I believe many have taken that up and started a new life in many different parts of the world. Many knows the inevitable and CTA it is time to say Good bye.... http://www.dorjeshugden.com/all-articles/india-strikes-a-deal-with-china-on-tibetans/
