Internet unveils illegal ban
« on: December 02, 2012, 03:49:57 PM »
The DS team are racking up a ridiculous amount of views on their Facebook posts...I just did a quick calculation, its summit like 1,996,201 views!!!!!!!!!!

Internet unveils illegal ban

In March 1996, His Holiness the Dalai Lama banned the popular Buddhist Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. For over 350 years, countless attained masters including the Dalai Lama had relied on Dorje Shugden’s spiritual assistance, and openly taught and spread his practice amongst Tibet’s lay population.

The ban therefore came as a surprise not just to the Tibetan community but to the world at large. News of the Dalai Lama banning a religious practice appeared to be at odds with his image as a compassionate, kind and tolerant man.

Indeed, this news also appeared to contradict the ideals that the Dalai Lama himself had championed for the last five decades – the causes of political freedom and democracy, and the freedoms of religious worship and expression.

Since 2007, DorjeShugden.com has been dedicated to creating awareness about this unfair, illegal ban. We would like to share with you the response we have received on some of our most recently published articles. Whilst alienation of religious rights can still occur in this day and age, with the power of the Internet and new media, the response to our work shows that the truth cannot stay hidden for long.

We at DorjeShugden.com and hundreds of thousands of other practitioners will continue in a peaceful and respectful manner to bring awareness to this unjust ban until it is no more. All should have the freedom and choice to practice any religion without ostracism and religious leaders stopping this freedom of worship in this day and age.

Thanks for the report DD. This site is a great equalizer, without which the truth about Dorje Shugden might never reach so many people. I look at the statistics of the views and surely there isn't a stage big enough to host half a million people constantly nor would there be a platform for the truth to be told. Those advocating the ban would probably get away with the lies they tell about a Buddha and the tyranny they inflict on others on the basis of religion.

Having almost 2Million views and counting is a sure sign that people are interested to learn the truth about Dorje Shugden. Dorje Shugden himself is an enlightened Buddha filled with compassion and will never speak up against the Dalai Lama. But at the same time if the truth is not told, a lot of people will continue to mistakenly accept lies for the truth and deny themselves the chance to embrace a practice that has no other reason for existence than to protect and spread the Dharma.

Dorjeshugden.com serves only the truth, does not put down the Dalai Lama, provides teachings and information for free so that everyone can benefit, and is not here for commercial or political reasons (I mean there are zero ads despite having to many views). This site speaks loudly for all those poor Dorje Shugden monks and practitioners who suffer in silence because of a devious and unwarranted ban.

I sincerely hope that dorjeshugden.com keeps growing and attract even more visitors. The world needs to know how dangerous it is for religious genocide to go unchecked and more people should get involved.

Wow! that is an amazing number of views and comments on all the posts on facebook. This is a phenomenon itself! the fact that so many people have read over the contents on facebook and/or commented, is just huge. it may not be as much as the Dalai Lama's facebook for example, but this amount of people commenting, liking, sharing and viewing itself would help to raise a lot of exposure for Dorje Shugden. To me, even if they do not agree with Dorje Shugden for whatever reason, they should at the very least, remain neutral about the issue instead of taking sides. That is what most intelligent Buddhists do nowadays and the least intelligent ones are not doing when they just try to kick each other online or offline.

Awesome! Thanks for highlighting the numbers DD. Does this not show that there is no lessening or any signs of Dorje Shugden practice and awareness weakening. In fact thanks to our modern day social media and network and the hard working team behind bringing Dorje Shugden practice and news out, it spreads farther and faster. Just look at this website dorjeshugden.com and there has been over 70,000 views to date... amazing.

There are so many methods of spreading Dorje Shugden and it is for free and truth is instead of saying who is right and who is wrong it is more important that we share information and let the people who are very intelligent these days think. It is silly to say that Dorje Shugden is demonic because as Buddhist the very core basis of our practice is compassion and wisdom and wouldn't it be wiser and more compassionate to skillfully be kind to those we want to see a change in their perspective instead of stepping on them and say they are worshiping some thing wrong.... don't think people would favour being told they are wrong. It has not worked before in the past and will not work now... if it does work then we won't be seeing such hight numbers as highlighted above would we :)

I would really say that the internet has really helped on promoting Dorje Shugden simply because people are aware now and they can find out for themselves whether or not Dorje Shugden is good or bad. And again, thanks so much DD for sharing with us the long, huge threads of comments that prove that people do want Dorje Shugden and they do want to find more information about him, and they do talk, ask, enquire  and debate about him. It's wonderful what the internet can do!

Dorje Shugden, the modern day cyber space Enlightened Dharma Protector! Thanks to the hardworking team behind this website, many people are getting to know of this ancient practice that brings tremendous benefit for this and future lifetimes. May the website team overcome all obstacles for them to continue championing the cause.

May all lamas who compassionately practice and tirelessly pass down the lineage live long. And may the ban be lifted soon.

Logically, the existence of this page and the facebook page would extend the lives of the Lamas as it creates the causes for them to remain to teach and to educate. Imagine, if the lineage was broken because Pabongkha and Trijang Rinpoche was removed and their teachings are invalidated and skipped. It would be a huge loss to Gelugpa and where would the lineage blessings come from? Therefore, it is imperative that the facebook page makes people realize what is going on, especially those from the Gelug lineage should really learn the importance of the lineage.

It's obvious that the ban is enforced, people have been discriminated by the society just because they practise Lord Dorje Shugden, can you believe how nasty it that? But in the end, I still believe that somhow His Holiness has His own reasons on implementing the ban, we might not see why ( well technically it's also because we are not enlightened, duh ), high Lamas manifest obstacles in order to help us purify our karma. It really depends on perspectives sometimes.

The only reason why a theocratic dictator perpetrates crimes against humanity is that such a criminal has not yet been demoted from power and put on trial; no need to be enlightened to understand this one.

high Lamas manifest obstacles in order to help us purify our karma.

Which does not mean that anyone manifesting obstacles is a high lama. For instance, the evil dalai manifests obstacles which are crimes against humanity, which clearly shows that, far from a “high lama”, he is just an ordinary criminal waiting to be duly sent where he belongs, the garbage bin of history.

Actually, it is a shame that Buddhists imitate Jews, Christians, and Muslims, who try to justify the most gruesome crimes against humanity in the name of their “god”. The perpetrator of crimes against humanity is a criminal, and deserves due punishment, whether he is called “high lama”, “dalai lama” or whatever.
