How interesting... my own highlight in bold and red below and the lovely photo at the end of Mr. Xiao Wunan, the Executive Vice Chairman of APECF* and the 17th Karmapa! I am glad that "both parties had a pleasant talk about the issue of bilateral religious and cultural exchange". I mean, the CTA and the Dalai Lama have been requesting for a dialogue with the Chinese since forever in vain, but here the 17th Karmapa gets a courtesy call - albeit from the Executive Vice Chairman of an NGO.

What does it mean? Is the 17th Karmapa a Chinese spy? After all, the CTA keeps calling Shugden practitioners Chinese spies.

See this other thread, "The 17th Karmapa and the 11th Panchen Lama – a Chinese conspiracy?" http://www.dorjeshugden.com/forum/index.php?topic=3055.0

To me, I would see this as Nepal and China bypassing the Dalai Lama and the CTA, not recognizing them as real governments. The Karmapa used to be the spiritual head of the Tibetans before the 5th Dalai Lama took over, and so by recognizing the Karmapa, China and Nepal is sending a message to the CTA: we do not recognize you as the head of any state and well, if i was the CTA, i would be ashamed. China actually has more than enough Lamas that can govern Tibet spiritually without mixing it with secular affairs. They have the Panchen Lama and also Reting Rinpoche that were part of the Tibetan Government before the Chinese takeover of Tibet and it seems that China is interested in reinstating them back to their positions. This meeting deals another blow to CTA after the swiss declares that they do not recognize CTA as a government.

Interesting.... The Dalai Lama is promoting the 17th Karmapa to take over so it seems... and it looks like the Chinese are happier to deal with the Karmapa then with the Dalai Lama and the CTA. So why has the CTA not accused the Karmapa of being a spy? This is definitely a huge slap in their face and it is all over the news!

Why is it that when a Dorje Shugden practitioners or Lamas have anything to do with China, directly or indirectly they are automatically being accused as spies or undermining the Tibetan Govt or seen as traitors? For example H.E. Gangchen Rinpoche and H.H. Gaden Trisur Lungrik Namgyal meet the 11th Panchen Lama, they are criticized for being traitors to the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan cause for independence. Other practitioners of the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden are also often accused as being Chinese spies and taking money from the Chinese. Why don't they accuse the the Karmapa, what makes them think the Karmapa is not selling them out?

This is a little twisted, definitely double standards and obviously unfair! Either the CTA thinks the world is stupid and blind and it shows how the CTA does not operate with any intentions of really benefiting their own people... it is purely for their own benefit and political power struggle agendas. With this type of inconsistency, it just creates the causes for the CTA to not credible and hence perhaps we will never see any dialogue between them and China.

Even though the Indian government thinks that the Karmapa is a spy and even the Chinese officials are visiting the Karmapa in person instead of CTA's representative or the Dalai Lama, the CTA cannot say that the Karmapa is a Chinese spy because the Dalai Lama endorsed him. The CTA uses the very "Chinese spy" to describe their enemies or people that they perceive to be their enemies and it has a negative connotation to it. The hypocritical situation here is this: the CTA wants to engage in talks with China but uses the word Chinese spy to degrade their enemies, so if you want to worry about Chinese spies, why enter talks with China in the first place? Accusing Lamas of being Chinese spies wont bring merits for the CTA for sure and that will manifest into some other weird outcome for them in the near future.

Ensapa, yes that's true!! Why does the CTA accuse anyone of being a Chinese spy yet try to ingratiate itself with China and keep lamenting why won't China want to have a dialogue to the CTA! Not the brightest politcal strategy in the world. Harvard did you say? Oh dear.

Rather than Harvard, it seems that he graduated from backward university. One would expect someone who have graduated from Harvard to have more common sense and exposure than to realize that the whole world isnt stupid and people can actually investigate, and when they find out about what is going on and all the untruthfulness of the CTA, who would want to actually enter talks with them? It's because of this 2 faceness that China refuses to enter talks with them and yet they blame China and the western media of course covers all of these up. Obviously, cover ups cannot be hidden with just a few patchy reports, and China, CTA and the US know the truth.
