Tibetan has long history of practicing their traditional medicine infuses with Buddhist teachings.
During the seventh century, the emperors invited doctors from India, China, Persian and Central Asia, even more so during the eighth century which coincided with dissemination of Buddhism to Tibet by Guru Rinpoche.
Many great Tibetan physicians at the time combined some aspect of Chinese and Greek medicine from Central Asia into basic Indian Buddhist teachings on medicine forming the core of Tibetan’s traditional medicine system.

In is indeed fascinating that the Tibetans are able to combine exoteric medicine of the Chinese, Indian and the Greeks with the Esoteric practices of medicine from Buddhism which originated from India. Yoga practices relation to healings  originated from India and spread to China and other regions including Tibet as well. It is well known that the practice of Tantric Buddhism can have a healing side effect.
When applied holistically by a skilled doctor even to none yoga practitioners, these techniques are among the most holistic known to man and it is only now that we are discovering Tibetan medicine.

Thanks Momo.
