Nepal to ban March 10 Tibetan uprising day events
« on: March 09, 2018, 04:57:49 AM »
What AGAIN?! The Nepalese officials have again turned down permission for Tibetan refugees to commemorate the Tibetan uprising day in order to protect its alliance with the Chinese Communist Party, which has proven to be more beneficial to Nepal as compared to supporting the Tibetan refugees.

The Nepalese Government is looking at their long-term future goals and growth... siding Tibetan cause is losing cause and definitely not a profitable one for the economy and their people.

The Nepal Chief District Officer issued a written notice in 2005 to the Representative of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Refugees Welfare Office (TRWO) in Kathmandu to suspend both offices, ending a 45 years partnership to care for some 2,500 Tibetan refugees who would transit in Nepal from Tibet. This move was a lesson to the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) for not addressing the tensions between the Tibetans and Nepalese, as well as not contributing back to Nepal for as long as they have been there. The fact that the Tibetan refugees continue to protest on March 10 is a perfect example in which they will jeopardise the relationship between Nepal and China, who is now the top assistance providers to Nepal. The Tibetan refugees are forever taking, and never reciprocating the favour has proven to be an ineffective way of dealing with the Nepalese as they feel they are taken for granted always.

Times for the Tibetans in Exile are getting worse now day by day! Their selfish behaviour has now brought everyone up against them.

The Nepalese government cannot be blamed as they have to put the interest of their people first. Helping the Tibetans is fine but still Nepalese have to take care of their own people first.

And many people know what the Tibetan Government does to the Dorje Shugden practitioners and even monks and high lamas, what do they expect to come back?

On top the constant refusal to have a constructive dialogue with the Chinese Government...

Bye bye CTA!

Not only the Nepali government, even India has banned Tibetans from holding a rally with the Dalai Lama in New Delhi this month to mark the 60th anniversary of a failed uprising against Chinese rule.

Relations between China and India have been tense in recent months after their troops faced off on a disputed part of their border.  When India wants to mend the relations with China, Tibetans should show support to their host by not doing protests against China, especially not in India. However, Tibetans have called on the United Nations and global rights groups to hold China accountable to the dire situation inside Tibet and five NGOs will be jointly organizing a 5-day campaign from March 10 to March 14.

One thing to be grateful is that some Tibetans are wise and are no longer confined with peasant mentality.  Thupten Choephel, a monk of Sera Jey Monastery in Bylakuppe, South India stated clearly in a press conference that he is proposing self-immolation to protest against the dirty politics that run rampant in the exiled Tibetan community. Even the Tibetans themselves are tired of the abusive use of political roles at the apex of their own leadership in Dharamsala, the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA).

I strongly agree with these bans. Why should Nepal, India, or other countries who have generously hosted the Tibetans for decades continue to risk their relations with China for these meagre protests by a handful of patriots that leave no impact, like a fart in the wind?

This is but another obvious result of CTA's failure in maintaining ties with Nepal throughout the years. Undeniably Nepal, despite struggling with its own issues, has shown so much generosity to Tibetans but when Nepal was hit with disaster, CTA epically failed repay such generosity in kind.

In fact, CTA’s lackadaisical assistance was extremely disappointing considering CTA merely issued a simple statement expressing sorrow, offered 20 lakh rupees (equivalent to less than USD 32,000) towards Nepali rescue and relief efforts, and promised to pray for Nepal.

Seriously, with the countless millions that the CTA receives annually in government grants, public aid and donations, it would not be too unreasonable to expect more from CTA given what Nepal has done for Tibetans throughout decades.

Further, as if that was not bad enough, it was reported that some of the Dalai Lama’s associates capitalised on the Nepal earthquake to deepen their own pockets and are now facing charges of money laundering. http://www.dorjeshugden.com/all-articles/news/dalai-lamas-associate-in-money-laundering-scandal/

And that is but only one example of CTA screwing up Nepali people. Hence, can you really blame Nepal for wizening up to CTA’s shenanigans and dropping CTA (who is only interested in what it can gain from its friends and does not bother much with how it can contribute to the people of other nations) in favour of China who brings positive growth to Nepal’s economy?

The ties between Nepal and Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) has deteriorated since Jan 2005 when Nepal ordered the closure of Dalai Lama’s office and Tibetan refugee organization in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Although Nepal is a small country, their leaders are smart to take wise measures and to build a relationship with China instead. The closure was said to be ignited partly because the locals are unhappy with the Tibetan refugees who are constantly taking without contributing to Nepal. This is the case of Tibetan refugees in India also. With the recent "leak" from the Indian government to officials not to attend the "Thank You India" event and the CTA had to move the prestige of the event from Dehli to refugee settlement Dharamsala, it is very clear that the CTA is seen as a problem whether in Nepal and in India. This is a fact because they are for the Chinese and therefore it is only logical if you want the Chinese's support, you will have to ditch the CTA and its people, the takers.

Since Khadga Prasad Oli, the current Prime Minister of Nepal is known to favour China. So it is no wonder that the Nepalese Government banned the Tibetan uprising event with China.

Why would they jeopardize their relationship with China for the CTA? China can give them economic benefits and favors while the CTA can only offer sympathy and requested further help from Nepal.

I think this is the first time in years that the Nepali Government is being SMART and playing their cards right.
The Nepali Government is only looking out for their future and for their people. Their people have been living in poverty for far too long. They do not even have proper electrical current that runs smoothly. When I went to visit Nepal last year, I was so surprised to find out that there is such a thing as "load shedding"? Which means during that time the electricity will be cut off.

Imagine if you are poor and your walls are thin and your heat gets cut off? So I do think that Nepal do need a helping hand in developing its infrastructure, and since China is willing to help, why not?
No one should tell Nepal what they can or cannot do because they deserve to prosper and be happy just like any other country.

Well, if one needs more signs that time is running out for CTA, just as clearly laid out in this latest article, http://www.dorjeshugden.com/all-articles/fed-up-of-waiting-nepal-embraces-china/ it would not be far-fetched to say that Nepal has had enough with accommodating Tibetans which is to Nepal's detriment.

After all, based on CTA’s actions thusfar, it is quite obvious that CTA are “exploiting both the East and West for their own gains – having gathered sympathy from the West who pump in millions of dollars in aid to the Tibetan exiled community, the Tibetans are simultaneously taking advantage of India and Nepal’s goodwill too. Not only do they fail to pay any taxes on these donations or contribute to the countries’ social welfare improvements, but Tibetans also berate and abuse their kind hosts for exhibiting a willingness to grow close to China”.

So, considering that CTA has failed to address the earlier red flags of Nepali’s growing dissatisfaction and resentment, it is not surprising that things have come to this with Nepal now. In fact, if CTA will definitely be irrelevant soon if they persist on their current self-serving stances.

Came across this article http://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/current-affairs/nepal-and-china-two-old-civilizations-embrace.html which serves as another positive sign of the strengthening of ties between Nepal and China through this landmark investment into Lumbini but another nail to coffin of the relationship between Nepal and CTA, so to speak.

Bottomline is that a good relationship with economic powerhouse China translate to Nepal benefiting from “superior economic growth opportunities to bring it up from its current level”. In addition, such relationship will also allow for the preservation and advancement of Buddhist and other related spiritual practices in the Nepal and abroad. In comparison, Nepal’s relationship with CTA to date has only brought detriment and deficits to Nepal with CTA clearly taking advantage of Nepal’s generosity.

Further agree with the author’s conclusion that “much benefit lies in store for both If India were to also join in this noble endeavour, there will be innumerable benefits for the continent and the world”.
