Duldzin Dragpa Gyeltsen's Incarnation Lineage
« on: February 05, 2012, 03:45:51 PM »
Dear Forum Reader,

I noted that in page 20 - 21 of Music Delighting The Ocean of Protectors (http://dorjeshugden.com/articles/musicdelighting.pdf), Trijang Rinpoche was explaining about the differences between the incarnation of Duldzin Drakpa Gyeltsen written by Panchen Chogyen and Losang Lungtog Tenzin Trinley.  He said that there are no contradictions between the lists except that one is more condensed (Panchen Chogyen) than the other (Losang Lungtog Tenzin Trinley).

I have two questions about the lists:
1.  In Losang Lungton Tenzin Trinley's lists, it is said that there is an addition of 8 names, but I could only found 7:
SHAKYA SHRI
CHOKU OZER
BUTON RINCHEN DRUB
PANCHEN SONAM DRAGPA
SONAM YESHE WANGPO
SONAM GELEG PELSANG
TULKU DRAGPA GYALTSEN

who was the eighth?

2.  If it is said that there are the Panchen Chogyen's list is actually more condensed than the list prepared by Losang Lungton Tenzin Trinley, why in Panchen Chogyen's list, there are three names that are not stated in Losang Lungton Tenzin Trinley's list?

Hi Michaela, this is what the list is referring to and not the list of names that you have posted.

Quote
A prayer to the incarnation lineage of Panchen Sonam Dragpa was written by
Yongtzin Ling Rinpoche's previous incarnation, Losang Lungtog Tenzin Trinley.His
listingwas the same as Panchen Chogyen's exceptforthe absence ofthree names
and the addition of eight more. The names from Panchen Chokyi Gyaltsen's list
that did not appear in Kyabje Ling Rinpoche's were Maghadha Zangmo,
Bodhidharma, and Kunga Lodro. The names of incarnations he added to the list
were:
1) onewhowas a skilled captainwho sat atthe feet ofBuddhaAmitabha; 2) prince
Tsondru Taye, Infinite Enthusiasm, son of king SonamMetog, Merit Flower;
3) one incarnationwho received prophecy from theDakinis that hewould become
BuddhaRabsel,the seventhBuddha ofthis fortunate eon;
4) Master Singhabadra;
5) a Brahmin boy who generated the universal altruism of bodhicitta by making an
offering of a leaffrom theBodhitree atBodhGaya;
6)the supreme Master Vasubandhu,
7)Akaramati, a disciple ofAtisha; and
8) a scholar at Sera Monasterywho realized emptiness

Hope this clears up the confusion.
