A serious Vajrayana practitioner would not make a lot of talk about their own practice on the net and they would not disclose what they are not supposed to on the internet. There are so many things that a Vajrayana practitioner should not disclose about in the internet, such as Yidams, Dharma protectors, secret mantras, etc but many people discuss about them anyways, just because they think it's the internet and the internet is a place where they can ask people 'safely'.

But with that said, there are many self proclaimed Tibetan Buddhists that have never studied under a Guru but have read the tantras which they are not supposed to read around in this generation and they make up the bulk of people who discuss about tantric secrets in public....and also people who go for initiations without knowing what they are and collecting them as if a hobby.

Thank you sonamdhargey for the guidelines. They are very interesting ans useful.
I am fairly new in the practice of Vajrayana and even more new in social media.
I do feel that as a Buddhist ( and a common lay person ) , we should at all times be humble , mindful and also if given a set of practices to do by our Guru, to practice as taught and not talk, boast or criticize about the practice , least of all to criticize and 'put down' about other practitioner's Guru.
Social media is for sharing (what we can share), and exchanging wholesome ideas and opinions , not to cause disharmony and for gossiping. We must be respectful at all times.
