The teachings that came from Buddha are all based on logic and truth.  There is no question that there is not a need for supernatural stuff in Buddhism.  Maybe back in the olden days when times were such that the supernatural stuff were part and parcel of life that they were integrated.

" .... supernatural stuff performed by Buddhas/ highly attained lamas ..." : to say that Buddhas / highly attained Lamas perform supernatural stuff is not correct - what they perform is actually something "normal" for them for they are already attained.
