By the focus on their recitation of the 10 million mantras with no distraction from worldly affairs, your parents' minds could transcend the perception and expectations of their lives and find peace. And, I'm sure after this episode, they will be able to bounce back in their secular lives. Sadness and happiness are in the mind. You and your family are very blessed to have such a kind and skillful lama for a teacher.
