Ever since I began taking Buddhism seriously (i.e. to think, act and live according to the Buddha’s teaching to the best of my ability and based on my level of understanding of dharma), I have enjoyed a much more peaceful mind; I do not need to question the meaning of life nor feel depressed anymore.

I was bestowed officially given Dorje Shugden’s practice on Wesak Day this year (how auspicious!!) and have since attended several prayer sessions together with my Lama and Dharma family, after which I always feel positively energized!

Now, with the Dharma Protectors behind me, I know I will be well taken care of in my spiritual journey. May I be blessed with the chance to serve the Three Jewels as long as I live and for many life times after this.

From that time onwards, Dorje Shugden became my main Dharma Protector. I would do all my prayers daily without fail and put my trust wholeheartedly in him. Whatever assignments or retreats I was given – such as to complete 10,000 serkyem offerings and 10 million mantra recitations! – I would do and complete them happily and without any hesitation or complaint as I trusted my Lama 100%. I knew that all the prayers I needed to do were to help me clear the obstacles we were facing and that Dorje Shugden’s practice was the fastest way to remove the heavy negative karma that we were experiencing.

Looking back all these years, Dorje Shugden has helped me and my family so much. Even during those difficult times, we still had food on the table and a roof over our heads. We were able to get through those years without facing many difficulties. Our financial situation improved quickly and everything in our lives improved and continued smoothly. I can now only repay the kindness of my Protector by being sincere and honest in my Dharma practice and by putting in more effort towards my spiritual growth.

It is also through the blessings of Dorje Shugden, whom I have placed my trust and faith in, that I had the fortune to find sponsors and support to help me set up a branch of our Dharma centre in another city, to spread the doctrine of Lama Tsongkhapa and benefit the people here.

Now, through the blessings of my Dharma Protector, I am able to commit myself more towards my spiritual practices. I have more confidence in myself to pursue what I want to do and not be hindered by family commitments. Now, even my family supports my Dharma work.

I am glad that I did not give up my Dharma practice when I was faced with obstacles. Without the help from my Lama and Dorje Shugden, who have patiently helped and guided me throughout all these years, I would not be who I am today. I am glad that I have moved on compared to most of my old friends who are still stuck in their secular world.

To my Guru and my Protector, thank you for saving me and giving me the best gift – the gift of Dharma.

My family was rather privileged and we even had a maid and a driver. When my dad passed away, our life crashed as everything “good” was taken away from us.

I remember my mum invited a Dorje Shugden statue back home then and diligently prayed to him everyday. When I look back now, I realize that everything that could have gone wrong within my family was saved and averted.

In spite of the financial difficulties we faced after my dad’s passing, my mother managed to still support the family and put all three of us children through our higher education at prestigious universities.

My brother, at the very last minute, even managed to obtain a good scholarship, which meant that I was then able to go abroad to study at a good university too.

Earlier last year, my brother almost lost his job when his company, a very well-known, multi-national IT group, was declared bankrupt and had to sell their company division by division. He had huge financial personal loans and we were worried – it would be difficult for him to find another job at his age and with his skill set, which is very specialized and niche.

However, he did his prayers diligently every day to Dorje Shugden; my mother also had very strong faith in the Protector and prayed consistently to him to seek his blessings and assistance. Recently, he received a call from his head office in Europe with good news. In spite of all the recent problems, they had decided to promote him because of his loyalty and his valuable expertise in his field of work.

It’s quite strange for me to look back and see that whatever decisions my family took, things would always turn out fine. And we know we owe it all to Dorje Shugden as he has been guiding and protecting us throughout the years, right up to this very moment.

When I was invited to join my very first puja with my Dharma community, I replied with an apology and said I would not be able to attend it as I had to take my wife out for dinner. I always take my wife out on the weekend and it has become a routine. If for any reason I tell her that I cannot take her out for dinner, she would become very angry and not speak to me for a day or two.

A Dharma sister advised me to tell my wife that I needed to go for prayers and the Protector would help me to make this possible. That gave me confidence.

I took my wife out for lunch that Sunday and told her about the puja. I said I wouldn’t be able to take her out to dinner that night. Not only did she accept it, but also asked to take-out the food from our lunch for her dinner. I was very, very surprised because she would never eat the same food twice in the same day. I looked at her blankly, a little surprised, and she simply replied that she didn’t want to trouble me to have to come out and get her dinner again later.

So I made it to my first protector puja, made possible by Dorje Shugden himself –

When I first encountered the Protector, I prayed only for wealth and fame, hoping that I would get everything I wanted just by praying and making offerings to him. I thought that since he is a Protector, he is supposed to grant all our wishes!
Things became better at the beginning in terms of finance, work and family. But a few weeks later, I was asked to move out from the place I was staying in. I was so angry and felt depressed. I questioned why this was happening to me. I asked why this Protector was not answering my prayers or “doing his job” since I had been praying to him. I didn’t realize then that it was all due to my own karma.

Luckily, I did not stop my practice. One day, my Guru gave a teaching on the Protector. He spoke about the Protector’s qualities and explained clearly to us the reasons for relying upon a Protector. I realized what I had been praying for was so small when in fact the Protector can help us to gain something much bigger: enlightenment.

In Dorje Shugden’s prayers, the main focus is always to practice the teachings of Lama Je Tsongkhapa. Every part of his prayer is a reminder for me to get rid of my bad qualities with confessions (knowing the misdeeds we have done), offering (developing a generous mind), praises (to counter jealousy) etc.

Slowly but steadily, I feel my life improving, as I become more generous, accept karma and praise others’ good qualities. Looking back now, I realize that the Protector manifested a “bad” situation for me as a lesson to learn, understand the Dharma and to be close to my Guru.

At the time, we were into the fourth month of a retreat that our Lama had advised us to do. His assistant then explained to us that we should add this Protector’s prayers into the retreat. We were given 5 sheets of prayers – prayers to invite Dorje Shugden and his retinue, and prayers for the serkyem offering.

Prior to the retreat, our financial situation was at its lowest, we were literally broke. We started a small business from home and business was not good at all. It was only when we started doing prayers and serkyem offerings to Dorje Shugden during the retreat that our business started to grow.

Also, my wife used to have frequent nightmares and bad experiences of spirits disturbing her. These unpleasant ordeals also went away when she started doing Dorje Shugden’s practice. Today, she has no more of these problems. We have also been fortunate enough to have had divinations done and Dorje Shugden has always given us clear and precise answers and solutions to situations we were facing.

The above accounts are just a few of many examples of how Dorje Shugden has helped and is still helping my family and I since we were so fortunate to have come under his divine care and protection.

I would trust Dorje Shugden and my Lama with my life. It was by their guidance and kindness that I was given a new lease of life and assisted in many difficult situations.

My friend was very scared that something would happen to his family. After listening to my friend’s experiences, I visited his house and we both prayed to Dorje Shugden, requesting him to lead this young spirit to have a good rebirth. After doing these prayers, my friend and his family members never saw the spirit again. This is how fast and efficient Dorje Shugden can be if we pray sincerely to him and have strong faith in his ability to protect us.

That is, until one incident totally changed my mind about Buddhism and the Dharma protector.

My grandmother is an 82-year-old lady. Generally, she is very healthy, can walk and run, and doesn’t suffer any illnesses. The only problem is that she has Alzheimers and keeps forgetting things. Most of the time, she doesn’t know what she’s doing, she eats raw food from the fridge, she almost started a fire once while trying to light incense; she has even fallen a few times while trying to climb up somewhere to hide things. Yes, she has a habit of hiding things and then accusing others of stealing her things later when she can’t find them.

As each person in the family had their own busy working schedules, my grandmother was often alone at home. Eventually, after much consideration, we decided to admit her into a nursing home where there would be professionals to take care of her all the time.

After she moved into the nursing home, my mum continued to send her breakfast every morning before going to work. On the fifth day after checking her into the home, my mum went as usual to deliver breakfast. When she arrived, she saw the nurses looking very worried and talking among themselves. They told her that my grandmother had run away! Her roommate said she had packed her bags early in the morning. As the nurse was busy preparing breakfast and washing the other patients, she threw her bag across the gate, climbed over the gate and ran off, gosh… it was like something from a movie!

I really didn’t know what to do, so I prayed very sincerely to Dorje Shugden, wishing that grandma would come home safely.

My mother panicked and started calling all her brothers and sisters to start searching for grandma. We drove around the streets for almost three hours looking for her but couldn’t find her anywhere. I really didn’t know what to do, so I prayed very sincerely to Dorje Shugden, wishing that grandma would come home safely.

Not long after I did the prayers, surprisingly, a taxi driver sent my grandma home. After a brief conversation, we heard from him that there was a lady who stopped the taxi driver and asked him to send my grandma home. Who was this lady and how did she know our house address? Until today, this is still a mystery to me. But, after all this, my grandma came home! She lost some money but more importantly, she came home safe and unharmed.

To whom it may concern,
I am a businessman and my job requires me to travel. Most of the time I’ll stay in small-town hotels. It’s usually in these hotels, I’ll experience spirit disturbances.

Some of these disturbances can be as serious as a knocking on my door on with nobody outside, and hearing creepy crying sounds. I used to think that I was imagining things until my colleague accompanied me on some of my business trips, and said she could hear it too. There were also instances when spirits pressed on me while I was sleeping.

I was googling about this problem and one day by chance, I bumped into dorjeshugden.com. From there I began to understand the meaning of this practise, so I downloaded the prayer card and learnt the mantra. Initially I just wanted to try it out, but then I realised a lot of strange things happened right after I recited the mantra.

Ever since I did the mantra “om benza viki bitana soha”, I realized that the disturbances began to go away. Even when I visited places where I had previously experienced these disturbances, nothing would disturb me on those visits when I recited the mantra…amazing!

As I started my daily short prayer of Dorje Shugden, I found myself to be more tolerant and patient. I was also becoming a lot happier as things in my life started to fall back into place. I was unexpectedly promoted at a time I was thinking of quitting the company I am still currently attached to.

I just want to highlight to you my feeling about Dorje Shugden. I find the ban unacceptable as I have actually benefitted a lot from this practice. I appeal to the Tibetan government that the ban be lifted as people like me have benefitted so much from this practice.

I feel that Dorje Shugden is a real Buddha because He saved me rather than harmed me.
