Requesting the highly attained mind stream of Tulku Dragpa Gyeltsen that is the emanation of Manjushri himself to become a Dharma Protector is certainly an extraordinary “arrangement” because Dharmapalas are either emanation of enlightened beings like in the case of Setrap (an emanation of Amitabha) or tamed worldly gods like the case of Nechung.

For Dorje Shugden to arise as a Dharma Protector, Nechung planned from the lifetime of Dultzin Dragpa Gyeltsen. With an oath to Guru Rinpoche to protect the Dharma as a whole, it is impossible that Nechung will go through so much effort to create a demon or worldly spirit as claimed by anti-Shugden groups.

With the calamities that followed Tulku Dragpa Gyeltsen, even the 5th Dalai Lama suspected for a brief moment that, perhaps, Tulku Dragpa Gyeltsen became a spirit because of the unjust cause of his death. However, after personally conducting powerful rituals to remove spiritual disturbances and observing the phenomena where Yamantaka appeared each time the Nyingma ritual masters attempted to throw Dorje Shugden into the fire, the 5th Dalai Lama eventually realized that Dorje Shugden is not an evil spirit but a Dharma Protector of the precious lineage founded by Lama Tsongkhapa. This was supported by His Holiness’ own action of composing a praise for the Protector as well as the molding of Dorje Shugden’s image from his own vision.

With this history combined with more recent events where Dorje Shugden and his practitioners consistently displayed true practice of Dharma during these controversial and difficult times, my growth in this enlightened Buddha grow. I pray for the swift removal of the ban so that focus, effort and resources are devoted to benefits more sentient beings by creating the cause for Dorje Shugden to always remain close and be the source of salvation for those with faith.
