Looks like these groups of youth couldn't care less about the current sentiments of the Indian government towards Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) events. A big fat slap on the CTA's face!

DHARAMSHALA, Mar. 14: Five prominent Tibetan NGO’s held a rally in the Indian capital New Delhi’s Parliament Street marking a decade since the 2008 Pan-Tibet Uprising in Tibet, the largest upheaval seen inside occupied Tibet in the recent years.

Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC), Tibetan Women’s Association (TWA), National Democratic Party of Tibet (NDPT), Gu-Chu-Sum Movement Association of Tibet and Students for a Free Tibet-India (SFT) jointly organized the rally from Samta Sthal to Jantar Mantar, where over 150 Tibetans participated.

The rally, a protestor said, will invoke the undying Tibetan spirit inside Tibet and in exile despite almost 60 years under Chinese rule and that the repressive polices meted against Tibetans over the years has not been able to deter the aspirations for freedom in Tibet.

In the wake of the March 10, 2008 uprising inside Tibet, official report by the Central Tibetan Administration say that an estimated 227 Tibetans died, out of which 153 were identified.

Among them 107 were shot dead while others were tortured, executed or beaten to death.

The same report says that close to 7000 Tibetans were arrested and 510 were sentenced for varied terms depending upon prior political records and without proper judicial proceedings.

The Tibetan exile government based in Dharamshala has adopted the ‘Middle Way Approach’ as the official stand which demands meaningful autonomy for Tibet as prescribed in the Chinese constitution. The Beijing government has officially rejected the approach and continues to uphold the diplomatic impasse with the exile Tibetan government, which has been stalled since 2010.
