The Dalai Lama needs to acknowledge who really saved his life and set a good example for the rest of his community and people. Gratitude is the basis of all attainments and unfortunately His Holiness has forgotten how to show gratitude to the teachers who gave him his knowledge, and the deity who gave him his life.

If the Dalai Lama can treat his teachers like that, then who is to say that his own students wont treat him in the same way in the future too?

It's recorded that Dorje Shugden was the one who saved His Holiness the Dalai Lama's life during a failed uprising against China's occupation. They consulted Nechung and Dorje Shugden and it was Dorje Shugden who gave precise instruction for His Holiness the Dalai Lama to leave Tibet; Nechung on the other hand, asked His Holiness to stay back. With all the respect, the reason why His Holiness is alive today was because of Dorje Shugden, if He had stayed back, His Holiness would have passed away.

I am getting quite shocked at what the Dalai Lama is capable of. Gratitude is one of the most basic virtue to practice as a decent person. As an icon of peace, holiness and tolerance, the Dalai Lama can turn against the deity from whom his teacher, Trijang Rinpoche, seek protection and blessings at the most crucial moment of His Holiness' life: the escape from Tibet to save the Dharma.

It is amazing the His Holiness had the thangka of Dorje Shugden over his back like a shield as he escaped into safety. This is so much like the propitiation praise written by Trijang Rinpoche where Dorje Shugden was request to be the "gong kept in front and the cloak on our back..."

Dorje Shugden has been so closely present in the lives of Tibetan and practitioners that abandoning his practice and witnessing the suffering of those who remain loyal is the worst thing we can do. Not only as Buddhists but also as human beings.

HHDL states that his life is guided by three major commitments; gratitude, compassion and peace.  So why is he not practicing what he preached? Dorje Shugden has helped him and his entourage to safety and he even carried with him a Dorje Shugden thangka during the exodus. Dorje Shugden was behind the planning, instructions and guidance during the epic escape from Tibet. Buddhism of Tibet and the survival of the Great Masters are due to the omniscience and power of this great enlightened Protector Dorje Shugden. Now, instead of recognising and worshipping Dorje Shugden, he is painted to be a harmful spirit, contrary to the great deeds he has performed in the past to preserve Buddhism. The Buddhism of Tibet flourishing globally today is due in large part to Dorje Shugden. (Source: http://www.dorjeshugden.com/all-articles/the-controversy/uncovered-truth-evidence-of-how-dorje-shugden-was-actually-behind-the-dalai-lamas-escape-out-of-tibet-to-india-in-1959/)

As a Buddhist leader, it is very shocking of HHDL actions toward the ban of Dorje Shugden. He should be thankful and grateful to Dorje Shugden but instead he did otherwise. He needs to acknowledge the truth and set a good example on what he preached.

The Dalai Lama has been saved by Dorje Shugden - this is stated clearly.
This needs to be pointed out again and again. Dorje Shugden is crucial for all of us and this ban has to come down as soon as possible.

It would be surprising if the evil dalie lame, a compulsive, lame liar, would not lamely lie about his commitments.

It is a historical fact that Dorje Shugden had saved the Dalai Lama with advice to leave and during his escape to safety. And yet, the Dalai Lama could show such ungratefulness by declaring Dorje Shugden as a "spirit" and putting a ban on his practise. But then again, if the Dalai Lama could publicly declare that his Guru, HH Trijang Rinpoche is "wrong", which would tantamount to breaking his samaya with his Guru (such a serious infracture in Tibetan Buddhism), then I guess I shouldn't be surprised by his misguided ban on Dorje Shugden.
If we are to believe that the Dalai Lama is the emanation of Buddha Chenrenzig, then being of compassionate nature, why would the Dalai Lama create all these seemly ungrateful acts. I seem to remember that the clearance of karma requires suffering and was wondering if in actuality could the Dalai Lama be helping to clear the karma of Shugden practitioners in order for the practice to grow and propitiate widely. If that is the case, then the Dalai Lama would be the compassionate being that takes on all the anger, confusion and hatred leveled at him due to the sufferings created by his ban.
Either way, the Dalai Lama should lift the ban now before pure lineages get threaten with degeneration and starts disappearing.

Dear Dharmacrazy

I think the point here is not to lose faith in the Dalai Lama.  Perhaps in order to make sense of the current situation we need to read the prediction made by H.H. Trijang Rinpoche in his book Music Delighting Ocean of Protector.  He has predicted that the Dalai Lama and Dorje Shugden will manifest the appearance of conflict even before the ban came to fruition.  What Trijang Rinpoche suggested is to not lose faith in both the Dalai Lama and Dorje Shugden or to take side because their real intention is to promote the Dharma.

What we always request is for H.H. the Dalai Lama to lift the ban on Shugden practice so we can create the cause for these conflicts to end.

Kind regards
Michaela

So basically Dorje Shugden saved the Dalai Lamas life during the times when he was in danger and could have died. And yet, the Dalai Lama doesn't admit this or show any signs of gratitude towards the deity, but instead puts a ban on the deity. Hmm.

This is a little bit weird for me. Normally when someone saves your life, or does anything for you for that matter, you don't treat them badly, or in this case put a ban on them. Its like stabbing a friend in the back after they have done something good for you. This shows that the Dalai Lamas selfish needs to do what he thinks is right overweighs the right thing to do.

Statement from HH Dalai Lama claiming that the practice of Dorje Shugden is shortening his life span is evidently not true. Why would Dorje Shugden point a safe escape route out of Tibet and kept HH and his entourage protected throughout the whole journey and then to shorten HH's life later on? It does not make any sense at all.
I see this lame excuse as a way used to threaten the Tibetans who have the highest respect and love for the Dalai Lama.

As we are well aware that HH is an emanation of Chenrezig who is an enlightened being, I pray that HH would soon lift the ban on Dorje Shugden's practice and all truths be revealed.

The Dalai Lama cannot afford to tell the truth about which deity really helped him escape Tibet. It certainly wasn't Nechung who in fact gave the advice for the Dalai Lama to remain in Tibet.

If the Dalai Lama were to acknowledge that it was Dorje Shugden who saved his life, then every single one of his false accusations against Dorje Shugden would crumble.

(i) It would go to prove that Dorje Shugden is incapable of harming anyone least of all the Dalai Lama. If indeed Dorje Shugden intended to harm the Dalai Lama, he would have remained silent and let the advice of Nechung prevail;

(ii) When Dorje Shugden saved the Dalai Lama, the Protector also preserved Tibetan Buddhism and the hopes of the Tibetan people because these two rest on the shoulders of the Dalai Lama.

Amazing how the Dalai Lama can forget. But then again the same Dalai Lama said that Trijang Dorje Chang was wrong.

We need to get the info out to more people. Some of these old monks, the Chushi Gangdruk members are still alive today!

Small | Large

Changtso Lobsang Yeshe was a member of Pomra Khangtsen(23) in Sera Mey(28) Monastery. He was the main attendant and biological brother of Kensur Ngawang Dakpa Rinpoche(14), who was the Abbot of Sera Mey Monastery at that time. Kensur Ngawang Dakpa Rinpoche was appointed by Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche(30), the junior tutor of the 14th Dalai Lama as the main coordinator of the team sent to consult Protector Dorje Shugden.

Changtso Lobsang Yeshe was the principal intermediary between Kensur Ngawang Dakpa Rinpoche and Dorje Shugden (via the 6th Panglung(22) Oracle) during this crucial period at a time when the Chinese closely observed Kensur Ngawang Dakpa Rinpoche. Changtso Lobsang Yeshe was also the contact point to receive all the initial instructions regarding the Dalai Lama’s escape from Tibet.

Changtso Lobsang Yeshe was in a private audience with the Protector Dorje Shugden on 10th March 1959 via the 6th Panglung Oracle as a representative of Kensur Ngawang Dakpa Rinpoche. During that period, a sinister Chinese plot to have the Dalai Lama and many other religious leaders arrested and harmed was uncovered. And it was at this crucial moment that a specific advice for the Dalai Lama to leave Tibet without delay was given by Dorje Shugden.

Of all the protectors in the Tibetan Buddhist pantheon, Dorje Shugden was the one who uncovered the danger to the Dalai Lama’s life and Dorje Shugden had also effectively prescribed the means by which the Dalai Lama could be protected as he escaped.

During that audience, Dorje Shugden offered a Pudri (a bracelet-like article with three eyes worn by the Panglung Oracles) to ensure the safe journey of the Dalai Lama and his entourage. This holy item was given to Changtso Lobsang Yeshe for Kensur Ngawang Dakpa Rinpoche. Dorje Shugden also gave Changtso Lobsang Yeshe a handful of blessed yellow rice that was “to be burnt in times of trouble” during the escape.

Changtso Lobsang Yeshe was also a witness to another important audience between Dorje Shugden and Ratoe Chowar Rinpoche, who was requested by Kyabje(18) Trijang Rinpoche (the Dalai Lama’s tutor) to come to seek advice from the Oracle regarding the same matter.  During this audience, a suitable route of escape was divined by Dorje Shugden. Dorje Shugden via the Oracle shot three arrows to the Southern direction indicating the direction that the Dalai Lama and his entourage should take. In addition, Dorje Shugden gave a ceremonial sword to Ratoe Chowar Rinpoche, and told Rinpoche that he would ensure a safe journey for the Dalai Lama if the sword was waved by a person named Dorjee in the air three times in the direction of the Dalai Lama’s escape route and to lead the Dalai Lama into India whilst holding up the sword.

In fact, it was actually the Dalai Lama himself that requested Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche to seek Dorje Shugden’s advice. As Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche was closely watched by the Chinese because he was the tutor of the Dalai Lama, Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche instead requested Ratoe Chowar Rinpoche to seek audience with Dorje Shugden via the Panglung Oracle.

The following is the exact excerpt from Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche’s autobiography titled “The Illusory Play” that clearly recounted the actual incident:

"Following the intentions and orders of the Dalai Lama, I secretly ordered Rate Chubar (Rato Chowar) Rinpoche to go to Panglung Retreat and to ask Gyalchen Dorje Shugden for his instructions."

"The Dharmapala said, ‘You must go immediately! If you go by way of the southwestern direction, no harm will come to the Dalai Lama or any of his entourage; I guarantee it! You must go raising this sword in my name at the head of the Dalai Lama’s column.’ Thus, he advised using the path leading to the southwest through Ramagang(25) and then performed the shooting arrow and sword dances."

"Following this very advice, on the night of the eighth day of the second month at nine o’clock, preceded by members of his family such as his mother, the Gyälyum Chenmo, the Dalai Lama and a small entourage then left."
