Shuilu'an Temple in NW China's Shaanxi
« on: January 01, 2015, 12:16:21 PM »
Photos below taken on Dec. 30, 2014 show the clay statues at Shuilu'an Temple in Lantian County of Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province. Over 3,700 statues were carved on the wall in Shuilu'an Temple, a Buddhist temple, between the year of 1563 and 1567 in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). (Xinhua/Liu Xiao)

These work of art in these sculptors are exquisite. I can see the hard and detailed work put into each of the statues. There must have been very rich sponsors who made this happen in this temple.

Appreciate you shared these pictures here. Would love to visit this one day.

This wonderful temple bears witness to how old, and deeply rooted, Buddhism is in China, as in other Asian countries such as Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodja, Vietnam, Laos, Korea, Japan, and so forth, not to mention Tibet, of course.

This shared Buddhist inheritance is arguably what puts such countries, peoples, and cultures at the cross-hairs of barbarian, Abrahamic predators. Just in the recent past Japan received two devastating Jewish-Christian nuclear bombs. Cambodja, Vietnam, Laos, and Korea were razed by Jewish-Christian carpet bombings killing millions, and Korea is occupied, divided, and constantly threatened by Jewish-Christian warlords, South Korea being governed by Christianized Western puppets, to the exclusion of Buddhists, which became pariahs in their own country. Sri Lanka and Myanmar, after centuries of Jewish-Christian colonial enslavement, are constantly attacked by Jewish-Christian media, always with the help of their puppet, the evil dalai. Thailand is chronically under the oppression of pro-Western military juntas, about which Jewish-Christian media, just like the evil dalai, are invariably silent. And China, having been predated and destroyed by Jewish-Christian colonizers and drug dealers since the Opium Wars, but now reawaken and rebuilt, is obviously the ultimate Jewish-Christian target, the one the devout synagogue-going Jew Henry Kissinger visualizes as the ultimate foe, and the main destination of US weapons of mass destruction.

Therefore, knowing where is the friend and where is the enemy, Tibetan Buddhists should be always proud of working together with the Chinese in order to promote and protect religious freedom and Buddhist culture and values.

Would love to visit this ancient temple one day to see the amazing work of art. And this  also shows that Buddhism has been in China for a very long time. And these are the places not explored by many.
Thank you for the lovely pictures.

Thank you for your kind input Matibhadra.  Many Buddhists are unaware of such motivation of Jewish-Christian colonizers as Buddhists are not aggressive converting other religion into Buddhists.  Such Jewish-Christain colonizers are of course geopolitical in their aggressiveness.

It is really hard to imagine how beautiful this temple in China really is just by looking through the pictures though it does give a rough sketch of how it actually looks like.

I have read many posts on the internet about temples in China and with every new one I read it always surpasses the previous one I read about.

It is really amazing how China is capable of building such beautiful temples and it really shows their devotion to Buddha's which must have helped them at times of need.

What makes this temple one of the best I've heard of is simply at the fact that there are a total of 3700 carved on the wall! Just imagine having to only come to one temple but having the chance to make offerings to thousands of Buddhas!

Thank you for sharing this post Icy~

These are remarkable pieces of work being done. Imagine the effort, the sweat and time, put into making them. This is a tremendous amount of offering body, speech and mind to the enlightened beings. If one look long enough one would gain faith because the sponsors and stone crafters must have worked together, devoted, for so long in bringing the Buddha statues to life. I rejoice in those who have opportunity to see the works with their eyes and may many more people come to see the many remarkable Buddha forms.
