Serkong Tritul embraced Atisha Kadampa!
« on: November 28, 2007, 06:16:43 PM »

[The translation of the letter written in Tibetan which was distributed on 22.11.2007]

To our Vajra brothers and Sisters,

Several misfortunes, in this year, have emerged. On top of that, a new misfortune appeared recently. Serkong Tritul Rinpoche, to whom we have faith and trust, got about-face on his sect.

The newly built-monastery in Nepal by Tritul Rinpoche was named Nyame Jowo Kadam Chokle Namgyal. The monastery has two branches (Dratsang) which are known as the Illusory Body and Clear Light respectively. They have already determined to embrace the Tradition of Atisha Kadampa. These monasteries had stopped the spiritual activities akin to Gelugpa Tradition including the daily prayers; and these are walking on path of Atisha Kadampa. Much astonishing and poignant is they gave up not only the practice of Dorje Shugden in Thali Mahayana monastery, but also have emptied photos, scriptures, and statues of Dorje Shugden. It is said that statues of Atisha, Dromtonpa and so on are being constructed. This trend is indeed shocking and distracting to Shugden devotees.  And, through his disciple, we knew that Tritul Rinpoche would gradually end the contact with any Gelugpa monastery in India and Tibet. As such he never pokes his nose in Gelugpa affairs.

Furthermore, all the Buddhist Centers led by Tritul Rinpoche have embraced Atisha Kadampa. These Buddhist Centers shunned the practice of Gelugpa Tradition, and are engaging in the practice of Atisha Kadampa.

In an unearthed document contains the aims and objectives of over- victory Atisha Kadampa.  A friend asked Tritul Rinpoche about his conversion into Atisha Kadampa. He said: "Gelug Tradition has many controversies including the Shugden issue. Atisha Kadampa is the pure and quality tradition without any controversy. Kadampa Tradition has emerged before Gelugpa. Therefore I decided to follow Atisha Kadampa." Not only that, he unequivocally declared that he has already gave up the worship of Dorje Shugden and Palden Lhamo in the ambit of Gelug Tradition.

Therefore, we urge the devotees of Dorje Shugden throughout the world, to be cautious toward Serkong Tritul in future.

Dearest friends,

I beg you to be careful with words. If someone embraced "Atisha Kadampa", good for him, for them! Lord Atisha is one of our main Lamas, as is Je Dromtömpa, and the Kadampa tradition is ours. We of the Ganden tradition are called also the New Kadampas precisely because we follow the teachings of Lord Atisha and his followers, the old Kadampa Masters, the sublime Lamas who teach us the sublime and unsurpassable ways of the Lojong. So, if some people abandon the worshipping of our Protector and declare that they are going to follow "Atisha Kadampa", let's not please demonize this expression! Let's just realize that they are reacting to the persecution of the government in exile, and in that part of the world things are not free and easy like for us here in the West.
In a general way, may be we could do this: let's just keep silent when people abandon or attack us or our Protector, it could be a nice Kadampa way. (Let's not praise neither those who do those things, as stated by someone before ;), because it's a dangerous thing to do for the minds of others).
So, please beloved practitioners, let's not worry, the sun of Dharma will shine on and on, and we are among the ones to make it shine too ...
Very happy Je Tsongkapa's day, to all, next week!

The brave and powerful Gaden Tripa incarnation of Gaden Jangtze Monastery otherwise known as Serkong Tritul Rinpoche residing in Taiwan has been expelled from Gaden Jangtze Monastery for REFUSING TO SURRENDER HIS PRACTICE OF DORJE SHUGDEN. It has been decided in Gaden Jangtze Monastery just this week during their meetings coinciding with the visit of HH in nearby Drepung.

Serkong Tritul Rinpoche has a flourishing centre in Taiwan, Huge Monastery in Tibet, Large Monastery in Kathmandu, Nepal and in general has 18 centres worldwide. He has recently acquired 100 acres of prime land in Central part of Malaysia.

Perhaps a Monastery should be built for all Rinpoches, Tulkus, Geshes and Monks somewhere outside of India/Nepal/Tibet, that can house them who have been expelled from their respective Monasteries. In time this Monastery would grow in number. It would be powerful as there are so many Dorje Shugden followers within their ranks. And in this Monastery, they just need an authentic oracle that can take trance of Dorje Shugden and they would be set. Imagine a Monastery that houses all the Masters and Monks that practice Dorje Shugden. They can teach, establish other centres, offer empowerments, practice, print publications in freedom and in peace without the interference of the Tibetan Government in Exile. Without getting into politics of Tibet and China. Simply practicing and preserving a pure lineage. H.H. Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche can be invited to offer Dorje Shugden empowerments  as a yearly event at this Monastery!!!!!!!!! Can we make this dream come true??It seems likely that Dorje Shugden's practice will be evaporated from Tibet but become large in China and the world. Just like in the past when Buddhism disappeared from India, it's birthplace and took root in the nearby Asian countries. In the end, where Dorje Shugden's practice abides doesnt matter, as long as it exists to benefit many.

Ven Jamsing Rinpoche gives dharma talks in his centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

As you may know, Jamsing Rinpoche is the student of the highly successful Serkong Tritul Rinpoche based in Taiwan.

Serkong Tritul Rinpoche is the main patron and sponsor of Shar Gaden Monastery in South India.
