Title: PM Modi snubs Tibetan leadership again?
Post by: Alex on May 31, 2019, 06:34:57 PM
The Tibetan leader of Central Tibetan Administration, Lobsang Sangay was not invited to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan this time despite sending a congratulatory message. This clearly shows that the Indian leadership is again snubbing the Tibetan leadership, continuing the trend from last year when they issued a circular discouraging government officials from attending events commemorating 60 years of the Dalai Lama’s exile in India.

India obviously doesn't want to risk irking China and shattering the current momentum in their relations, especially when India is set to host President Xi Jinping for another informal summit later this year.  Support for the Tibetan cause is waning worldwide, and things are not getting better with the office of the Dalai Lama curtailing his visits abroad and inside India.

PM Modi snubs Tibetan leadership for swearing-in ceremony

DHARAMSHALA, May 30: The Indian Prime Minister who is fresh off of a massive win in the Indian Lok Sabha elections has done a U-turn by not inviting exile Tibetan government’s President to the swearing in ceremony due to be held later today, in a bid to not anger Beijing.

The President of the exile Tibetan government, known officially as the Central Tibetan Administration, Dr. Lobsang Sangay’s absence today at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi marks a stark contrast to 2014 when the elected Tibetan leader was seated in the former rows at the ceremony when PM Modi was sworn into office the first time around.

The invitation to Dr. Sangay in May 2014 drew strong objection from the Chinese government who lodged an official protest censuring New Delhi’s disregard for the so-called ‘One-China policy’. Many said at the time that the invite was posturing at most, of Modi’s intent to India’s neighbor and biggest rivals both in Asia and global arenas.

The New Delhi-Beijing relations post the Doklam stand off and Wuhan summit has meant that India has given a cold shoulder to the exile Tibetan set up, thereby taking a step back in using the much-touted ‘Tibet card’. The shift in policy has markedly been seen on the ground with New Delhi issuing an advisory to senior leaders to avoid His Holiness the Dalai Lama or pushing the CTA to shift the “thank you India” ceremony from New Delhi to Dharamshala last year.

The head of the Tibetan polity who extended pleasantries to PM Modi on his win, however may have anticipated the snub. Days after Modi’s historic election win, Sangay flew to the United States and is scheduled to return on June 5 to India next week.

Starting last year India has been very cautious and never would let CTA in their way to have a great relationship with China. Indian government being quiet and stop their people attending CTA event. This is a clear indication telling CTA that India is not your area anymore and quickly work out a relationship with China. China is the only hope and for them to go back. CTA has to think for their future and no longer keep looking for money using Tibetan cause.

There are some who said that by denying the invitation to Tibetan leader, PM Modi has gone out of the way to appease China and keep Beijing in good humour, despite China is claiming that Indian province Arunachal Pradesh belongs to it and is occupying large Indian territory annexed by China during the 1962 Indo China war.

But, does India really have to protect the interests of Tibet and at the expense of good relations with China?

India and China last year had a series of engagements,  including several bilateral meetings between the leaders of the two nations on the sideline of the multilateral conclaves.  China on May 1 dropped its policy of shielding terrorists based in Pakistan from United Nations sanctions and stood aside to let the Security Council impose sanctions on the JeM chief Masood Azhar. So obviously India has to reciprocate this friendly gesture.

The Indian government has supported the Tibetans for the last 60 years. India has not gained any benefit from the Tibetans but the Tibetans keep asking for more. Not only that, the Tibetans always create troubles to India.

India has been wanting to establish a good relationship with China. Unfortunately, Tibet is now in the way. Working together with China will bring a lot of economic benefits to India. Only a fool will refuse to work with China.

It is a fact that the Tibetan community in India does not bring benefits to India. Modi not inviting Lobsang Sangay to the swearing-in ceremony is a clear indication the Tibetan community is losing support from India. It is a bad news to them, but it seems like Lobsang Sangay is not going to do anything to improve the situation.

India has been compassionate enough to host or rather help Tibetan to provide shelter, preserve Tibetan culture, provide food and opportunity of citizenship. India has done the most for Tibetan compare to any other people in the world. But for the past 60 years what actually Tibetan leadership had done or even support for India during their high and low period?

I think it's time for Tibetan leadership to really show their appreciation to India and don't take any more advantage. The situation for Tibetan is really negative. India needs China and they are at good terms but Tibetan is in between them. There is no way that India will tolerate or compromise for Tibet as what China can offer, that is nothing Tibetan leadership could provide.

Tibetan leadership has to act fast before it's too late.

The best move for India is to snub the leeches. They are a group of vampires that suck:
and the list goes on...

In return, they hoist the Tibet flag at Lake Pangong to stir the Indian and Chinese dispute over Doklam border. They create all sorts of anti-Chinese sentiments in India to influence the Sino-Indian relationship. They suck money from the Indian government that could be used to improve the quality of lives for the poor Indians...

It is slow to take 60 years for the Indians to realise how useless the Tibetans are but never too late!

The best move for India is to snub the leeches. They are a group of vampires that suck:
  • Your wealth
  • Your health
  • Your energy
  • Your kindness
  • Your compassion
  • Your care
  • Your support

In a nutshell, they will only take and not give back. CTA took everything that belongs to the people including the millions of donation that they got from the western countries. The life in the Tibetan settlements are the same as 60 years ago while almost all of the Tibetan leadership has a second passport from another country.

If the Tibetan leadership is so loyal to the Tibetan cause, why did they take another passport from another country? Why do they need a second passport when they have the almighty Tibetan travel papers? Are they trying to use their position in Tibetan leadrship to get as much benefits for themseles and then run away when they have enough.

They never cared about the Tibetans in exile. All they care about is their own pockets and where they will retire and enjoy the rest of their life. An example will be Sharling Dhardon, she left her position in the CTA and went to the west to pursue her studies. It is obvious that she does not have a plan to come back to stay in the Tibetan settlements.

It is clear that PM Modi has had enough of the cheap and childish games the CTA and Lobsang Sangay play. Sangay has been a dismal leader of the Tibetans in exile, creating an environment so toxic today that most Tibetans would rather be Indian citizens or migrate to Western countries.

Everything that comes out from his and the CTA's mouth is so biased, illogical and outright childish that no one respects or pays any attention to them except for those with an agenda against China.

Grow up and please pull that thumb of yours out from your mouth.
It is disgusting and demeaning to the office of the Dalai Lama and to your hosts the great Indian nation.

The PM Modi has to protect the interests of his country and the Tibetan Leadership does not provide any benefits for India but instead takes so much from them and creates problems with the big neighbor China for example.

So of course India has to choose what is best for their country. The Tibetan Leadership can think about how they can benefit India instead of always creating problems.

So, the question is,,, what will the Tibetan Leadership do to gain India's trust?

A great leader will always look after their people and always protect their people's interest. Now India secured a good relationship with China for the benefits of the long term. In this case, we can see India already taking steps to ignore Tibetan. This will eventually lead to Tibetan to leave India. But at this moment how Tibetan can leave? With what? Have they created a good relationship with China? if not then how?

It is smart of India to protect their own interests rather than being at odds with China, which will be especially damaging to their potential ludicrous trade agreements. Why side with losers such as the Tibetan Government in exile, CTA who has never done anything but beg for money and never even sharing it to improve their people's lives? CTA had only selfishly fattened their own pockets in luxurious living and fat retirement funds. Finally, India has wised up to CTA's antics and has snubbed numerous meaningless activities held by the CTA, as well as not inviting to momentous events, such as the Prime Minister's swearing-in ceremony. Too bad! After all the years of living the lazy way, CTA's days of begging are numbered as the world are censuring them against the generosity of China.

Who the hell does Lobsang Sangay think he is? Why should the Prime Minister of India, 1.4 billion bother about insignificant Sangay who cannot even bring harmony and unity to his own people? And what country is he representing and governing? How dare he even complain about not being invited, he should be lucky he and his so-called cabinets are still allowed to operate on Indian soil which is a loan to them for free, for now.

Well, I think it's time Sangay and gang get a huge wake-up slap and realise that they bring no benefit to anyone and the world's economy. So, better just shut up before they get squish like a bug for misbehaving in someone's house. If they were smart, unfortunately, they are not, they would do everything in their power to harness a good, prosperous, harmonious relationship with China and India and of course the should start at home but showing harmony within their own Tibetans exile community. Instead of segregation, they should unite everyone for a much bigger picture since they are such a small fly. Sadly, their brain cells cannot think beyond themselves and how to fill up their own pockets. We will just have to wait and watch what India and China will do to them.

Tibetans in India are given the cold shoulder by the Indian government. The relationship between Indians and Tibetans are not the same anymore. Last time, India was using the Tibetans to irk China and now the situation has changed. India does not need Tibetans anymore and there is no reason to treat them nice.

Tibetans in India have not been useful or beneficial for India for the past 60 years. They have created a lot of problems for Indians including cheating the system and stealing aids that they are not entitled for. For 60 years, they just take and take and never give back. Indians are very dissatisfied with them and wanted them to leave.

Now that being close to China is what India wants, Tibetan will not be entertained by the Indian officials. Sooner or later, Tibetans will be asked to leave India if they do not stop creating problems. Remember, they are the thorn in the flesh of China and China will back off so easily until they remove the thorn.

Can anyone host a guest for 60 years? This guest take things for granted and always creates problems, which host will be patient enough to deal with it? This is what is happening to India. India has been very kind to host the Tibetans for the past 60 years but Tibetans only take and never give anything back.

When the Tibetans first arrived in India in 1959, India was very kind to give them lands to rebuild their home. They are even allowed to have their own government. When India offer citizenship to the Tibetans, CTA is making thing so hard for the Tibetans to convert to Indian nationality.

Generally, Tibetans just use India as a stepping stone for them to go to western countries. They don't think India is good enough for them. But things will change soon as Asia is growing stronger. The Tibetans who have migrated to the west will regret one day for making the wrong choice.

You are so right! CTA and many of the Tibetans in exile are just using India as a stepping stone. They denigrate the Indians as India is the very last choice on their list of places they wish to emigrate to. Even going back to Tibet under China is a better option than to be Indian citizens. Wonder why? Is it that they are so prone to practicing discrimination that they act out their negativities without much thought? We hear of Tibetans who discriminate amongst themselves as to where in Tibet they came from, what school of religious practice, and then against Dorje Shugden practitioners, etc. It is just amazing and not something the outside world expects from a country where the majority of them are staunch Buddhist practitioners. So now we know that anyone can claim themselves Buddhists but not all can claim to be real practitioners.

CTA called themselves Buddhist but they are not real Buddhist. Real Buddhist will not cause so many troubles and suffering onto another human being. Over the 60 years, CTA created so many problems in India including the Dorje Shugden ban which literally splits the whole Tibetan Buddhist world into 2. Many Tibetans suffered discrimination and segregation in their own community and passed away hopelessly.

While the Tibetans in Exile are living in difficult conditions, the CTA is enjoying themselves with all the donation that they get from the western countries. The Tibetan leadership themselves have passports from another country which enable them to travel without restrictions. Since they are so passionate about Tibetan cause, why did they accept a passport from another country?

Obviously, they are preparing an escape route for themselves if the situation in India did not work out for them. They are not there for the Tibetans. They are there for themselves and try to get as much benefit as possible before they leave CTA.

Well, if Sangay is a real leader, he would have had a dialogue with the CCP and brought the Tibetans closer to their goal. This will only happen in this ideal world. I believe the Indians are not stupid and they would not see Sangay's trick as childish but they thought it was beneficial. However, they have paid a high price for hosting the Tibetans over 60 years. What a waste of the Indian citizen's tax money!

You are asking too much of Lobsang Sangay! He will never be great. Why? Because he is entrenched in the skewed rhetoric of China being bad that he can't see clearly the future that he and the Tibetans in exile could have in China. How could he see clearly when every moment he is only thinking of how much he can get from the suckers that he tells his sob stories to. Not a lot left that will lend him their ears or open their wallets anymore. Too bad! All those years which could have been used to forge the strong relationships had been wasted.

Tibetan can only come out from their stagnant situation when the entire Tibetan leadership is replaced with a bunch of Tibetans who will really work for the benefits of fellow Tibetans and not their own benefits. The current leadership is corrupted and selfish. Everything that they do is for their own benefit and not the benefit of the public.

Just look at how they handled the self-immolation situation. Instead of imposing laws to stop the unhealthy practice and save precious human lives, they published a book to encourage their people to self-immolate. It is clear that they do not want to help their own people and they are just using them to garner more donations and sympathy.

Hence, Tibetans should wake up now and leave the devil before they get their claws on them. China is not as bad as they portrayed. Just look at Tibet which is getting better and prosper now. Most of the Tibetans are out of poverty due to the hard work of China. What did CTA ever do anything nice for the Tibetans? Nothing!

If Lobsang Sangay has a dialogue with China and tries to negotiate for a deal, he can lose his power any time which he won't want to. He does not have any respect for China because China did not pay him. The western world has been very generous to give financial support to the Tibetans but no one knows where the money has gone to. But we can be very sure that the money was used to print books and make videos to condemn Dorje Shugden and its followers.

In addition, if internally there is always conflict and no harmony, how are the Tibetans going to be successful in their pursuit? Obviously, CTA does not want to be successful, they only want to get rich. They always create conflicts in the Tibetan community. They refuse to solve problems and let the problems continue to become the hurdle in their pursuit.

The failed Tibetan leader will never negotiate with China to get back their country. He is a Harvard graduate for god's sake and you think he does not know that the Tibetan cause is dead as a doornail? It will never be revived again by looking at the progress that China had made in Tibet.

He is obviously buying his time by putting emphasis on irrelevant issues and creating excuses for why until now they have not successfully had a dialogue with China. China had waited so long to have a dialogue with them and now they are not waiting anymore. They have clearly stated in the white paper where they are no longer interest in meeting up with His Holiness.

Lobsang Sangay just wants to keep the Tibetans in exile in India to get maximum monetary benefit from them. Once they are back in Tibet, CTA will no longer exist and he will lose his position and his ability to get donations. That is why CTA keep delaying their approach to China while lying to naive Tibetans by saying they are on the right track.

It's time for Tibetan leadership to really take action for their people. I feel that CTA is still playing games here and the impact is towards the innocent Tibetan refugee. India will not tolerate CTA anymore and they have bigger priority to please China to protect their country interest for their people. You see at India prioritise what is important for their nation and people but you don't see this in CTA. CTA on the other hand imposed religious ban to their people, ostracised and discriminate their people,  CTA recognised another leader that out from their respective lineage tradition. Why create all this to make more people suffer instead of giving religious freedom, human rights, unite all Tibetan, discourage self-immolation and respect all other religious practice?

If the leader themselves can't even control to bring unity and peace for their people what will be their future?

In the news below... we can clearly see... that China will never recognise Lobsang Sangay as President of Tibetans in exile. The news below gives an interesting insight into the Tibetan issue.

Quote
China-Tibet concord dream fading fast

On June 9, Zhu commented on the visit of Branstad to Tibet, in The Global Times, the mouthpiece of the Party.

One man has destabilised China. For the purpose, he has used something which hardly existed a decade ago, Twitter. Though his messages are sometimes eccentric, President Donald Trump has changed the course of the US-China relations. For the first time in recent years, the US has taken the ascendant on the Middle Kingdom in terms of communication and propaganda. This can be seen in all aspects of the bilateral relations. As a result, Beijing feels insecure like never before; this probably explains the rare authorisation given to Terry Branstad, the US Ambassador to China, to visit the Roof of the World between May 19 and 25; a first for a US ambassador since 2015.

A statement issued from Washington said that Branstad spoke his mind; he “urged China to open substantive dialogue with exiled Tibetan Buddhist leader, the Dalai Lama and give the Himalayan region’s Buddhists freedom to practise their religion.”
The State department added that Branstad “raised our long-standing concerns about lack of consistent access to the TAR. …He also expressed concerns regarding the Chinese government’s interference in Tibetan Buddhists’ freedom to organise and practise their religion.”

The ambassador visited several historic places such as the Potala Palace, the Jokhang Temple or the Norbulingka Palace linked to the Dalai Lama and when he met the senior Communist leaders, he encouraged them “to engage in substantive dialogue with the Dalai Lama or his representatives, without preconditions, to seek a settlement that resolves differences”. All this was obviously not reported in the Chinese press.

Wu Yingjie, Tibet’s Communist Party chief, explained to the ambassador the “huge achievements” undertaken for guaranteeing the rule of law, religious freedom and traditional culture. According to the Communist Tibet Daily newspaper, Wu added that he sincerely welcomed more American friends to visit the TAR.

On the ambassador’s return, Beijing used a well-known hawk, Zhu Weiqun, to counter the US diplomacy. Zhu, though retired, holds the honorific post of chairman of the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference; for years, as executive deputy director of the United Front Work Department, Zhu was the interlocutor of the Dalai Lama’s Envoys (2002-2010).

Once, when asked whether “religious” members could be admitted in the Party, Zhu famously retorted: “No Chinese Communist Party members should be allowed to be religious.”

On June 9, Zhu commented on the visit of Branstad to Tibet, in The Global Times, the mouthpiece of the Party. Zhu strongly criticised the ambassador, who dared, according to him, to encourage Beijing “to engage in substantive dialogue with the Dalai Lama without preconditions”.

This was not appreciated by Zhu (in fact by the Party, as the tabloid represents the Party’s views). Why? Not only it was blatant interference in China’s internal affairs, said Zhu, but he also questioned the meaning of “seeking a settlement without preconditions” and the definition of a “substantive dialogue”. Though time and again the Dalai Lama has said that he wanted an association, not a separation with China, Zhu considers the Dalai Lama a splittist.

While giving an assurance that the CPC’s Central Committee had not closed the door to contacts and negotiation with the Dalai Lama, Zhu showed the Party’s hard-line stance, “the proposed negotiation cannot come without preconditions.”

In my book, The Negotiations that Never Were, I argued that the “talks” never really took off, because the two sides did not speak the same language.

Already in 1981, Hu Yaobang, the CPC’s general secretary, had submitted to Gyalo Thondup, the Dalai Lama’s elder brother, a “Five-Point Policy towards the Dalai Lama”. The “conditions” were not related to Tibet, but only to the Dalai Lama’s future.

One of the points said: “The central authorities sincerely welcome the Dalai Lama and his followers to come back to live [in China]. This is based on the hope that they will contribute upholding China’s unity and promoting solidarity between the Han and Tibetan nationalities.” It was also said: “It is suggested that he not go to live in Tibet or hold local posts there. Of course, he may go back to Tibet from time to time.”

Zhu Weiqun reiterated that there was nothing to discuss about Tibet, the “negotiations” could only be about the condition of the Dalai Lama’s return to the Motherland and his status... in Beijing.

Zhu explained: “First, it must be made clear that in nature, contact and consultation [these] are not talks between China’s central government and the Tibetan government-in-exile or ‘Central Tibetan Administration’, nor are [they] ‘Tibetan-Han Talks’ or ‘Tibetan-China Talks’. The Dalai separatist political group is illegitimate and ineligible to have a ‘dialogue’ with representatives of the CPC Central Committee.” Beijing wants only to talk to the Dalai Lama’s personal envoys.

Such conditions did not yield positive results during the nine rounds of “talks” held between 2002 and 2010, when Lodi Gyari was the Dalai Lama’s Special Envoy. The second point mentioned by Zhu was: “The Dalai Lama must accept Tibet as an integral part of China, abandon all attempts about so-called Tibet independence, stop all separatist and destructive activities, and recognise Taiwan as an integral part of China.” Why Beijing wants to link Taiwan to Tibet is perplexing!

Regarding the second point, China has been insisting that the Dalai Lama agrees that historically Tibet has always been a part of China.
When a senior Tibetan exiled Lama went to China a couple of years ago, the Chinese told him that the Dalai Lama should sign a statement acknowledging that Tibet has been part of China since ancient times. This is obviously not acceptable to the Dalai Lama and the People of Tibet, as it is a falsification of history. Taking a hard stand, Zhu affirmed that in these two preconditions “there is no so-called Tibet issue, but just the problem of the Dalai Lama”.

It means that today, the Chinese stand has not changed since 1981. All this does not much leave any margin for substantive negotiations and the recent events in Hong Kong, the pressure in Taiwan and the tragic situation in Xinjiang do not indicate a positive change in the Chinese attitude.

Beijing is playing another card; on June 10, the official China News Service announced that Gyaltsen Norbu, the Panchen Lama selected by the Communist Party in 1995 had visited Thailand in May, “the first time he had ever left China”, while the boy chosen by the Dalai Lama as the 11th Panchen Lama still languishes for more than two decades under house arrest.

The announcement came nearly one month after Norbu’s visit; it show Beijing’s nervousness. Norbu just gave a speech at a Buddhist university, but his visit made him even more aware of the “greatness of the motherland and the Chinese Communist Party.”

Tibetans will not be fooled by such cheap propaganda. Substantive progress between the two parties seems to have slipped farther away, with or without tweets.

Zhu the writer is a season politician and plays an important role in Tibetan matters and the below are some points he made...

1. China does not welcome HHDL to be in Tibet. In 1981, in the “Five-Point Policy towards the Dalai Lama”, it was mentioned that “The central authorities sincerely welcome the Dalai Lama and his followers to come back to live [in China]. This is based on the hope that they will contribute upholding China’s unity and promoting solidarity between the Han and Tibetan nationalities.” It was also said: “It is suggested that he NOT GO TO LIVE IN TIBET or hold local posts there . Of course, he may go back to Tibet from time to time.”

2. A reminder of another pre-condition was that when a senior Tibetan exiled Lama went to China a couple of years ago, the Chinese told him that the Dalai Lama should sign a statement acknowledging that Tibet has been part of China since ancient times. This is obviously not acceptable to the Dalai Lama and the People of Tibet as it is a falsification of history, but China has clearly demanded that and still demands it.

Zhu had also said that the Dalai Lama "refused to correct his mistake and even incited and organized multiple violent and self-burning incidents in Tibet to damage the stability and development of the region…This is why we suspended dialogue with him".

3. Another point explained by Zhu seems to refute what Lobsang Sangay boasted previously,
“First, it must be made clear that in nature, contact and consultation [these] are not talks between China’s central government and the Tibetan government-in-exile or ‘Central Tibetan Administration’, nor are [they] ‘Tibetan-Han Talks’ or ‘Tibetan-China Talks’. The Dalai separatist political group is illegitimate and ineligible to have a ‘dialogue’ with representatives of the CPC Central Committee.” This clearly shows that Beijing wants only to talk to the Dalai Lama’s personal envoys and perhaps this was why Samdhong Rinpoche went to China?

India is clever for prioritizing their relationship with China over their relationship with the Tibetans. China can provide so many benefits to Indian citizens while CTA only causes problems for the Indian government. CTA has been free-loading in India for the past 60 years and they did nothing to get out of their situation. They planned to continue to be in India forever until China decide to miraculously hand them back their country, Tibet.

CTA had wasted the past 60 years doing nothing to achieve Tibetan cause and they are just waiting for a miracle to drop from the sky. Instead of focusing on how to connect with China to negotiate with them to get  Tibet back, they do all kinds of petty things such as Dorje Shugden ban for power game and for their own benefits.

They created such a mess in the Tibetan community which resulted in a lot of disharmonies. Hence, Tibetan are not united now and they always fight among each other. Tibetans can even create a scene at the celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's birthday who is highly revered by them. From this, we can see the level of mindset of the Tibetans have.

Zhu is indeed a very seasoned politician by the terms set out for the return of the Dalai Lama. Having the Dalai Lama's return to China will accord the Chinese government "face" and show the world their accomplishment with the Dalai Lama's ceding to their conditions. At the same time, in his staying away from Tibet with only occasional "visits", will keep the Dalai Lama away from his usual stronghold and lesser his effect or power for any political upheaval. It will new territory for the Dalai Lama and I am sure that China will make sure that he stays mostly in seclusion or in a place where religion does not play a prominent role in the people's lives.

On the 2nd point of the Dalai Lama agreeing that Tibet has been under China historically, I guess there is some truth to it, depending on which side the history is coming from. Wasn't it that during certain historic time that Tibet came under the protection of China due to invasion from other countries. I guess from Tibet side, it would be viewed as assistance but from China side, it could be viewed as another of their land paying felty and the Dalai Lama was installed to take care of the state. As such, the grey lines are very subjective and it all just depends on the side's interpretation.

Whatever it may be, Tibet has prospered under the leadership of the Chinese and Tibetans have their living standards improved with opportunities, unlike the serf conditions they had to live, under the leadership of the Tibetan Leaders. Even now, we can still see that mentality with the CTA's governance in Dharamsala where the Tibetans in exile still live in poverty despite billions of USD donations received over the 60 years in exile. So the question is where have the monies gone??? The Tibetans in exile should be questioning this too!!!

Well, sooner or later the whole world will snub Tibetan leadership... what on earth can they offer really?

Look even the country that says they want to be independent of China will now need to depend on China, money talks, bullshit walks and the biggest bullshit is none other than Central Tibetan Administration who has a President who needs to go to court and clear his scandalous actions that cheated his own exile community. They cannot even run a couple of hundred thousand people, they want to run a country? In their dreams man, in their dreams!

Quote
COLOMBO: Sri Lanka is seeking a loan of nearly $1 billion from China for energy and highways as the island recovers from the devastating Easter Sunday bombings, the finance ministry said on Thursday. Talks are underway with China's Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to raise the new loan in addition to the $1.2 billion obtained from international agencies this year, the ministry said.

"We have been discussing with the AIIB to obtain nearly an additional $1,000 million for further development of the Power and Highway sectors," the ministry quoted finance minister Mangala Samaraweera.

Sri Lanka's former government borrowed heavily to rollout ports, highways and railroads, but several ambitious infrastructure projects ended up as white elephants and left the country facing a mountain of debt - mainly to China. Unable to service its loans, the government of PM Ranil Wickremesinghe leased a Chinese-built port at Hambantota to a Beijing company for $1.12 billion in 2017.

Samaraweera said the country was able to maintain economic stability despite the April 21 attacks that killed at least 258 people at three churches and three luxury hotels. The government expects tourism to decline 30% this year as a result of the suicide bombings. The loss of revenue has been estimated at $1.5 billion. CONCLUSION: As long as Sri Lanka is depending on China to get money, she will not be able to be free from China.

There will be more actions taken by India towards Tibetan leadership. The situation after 60 years is different now. India before goes along with Tibetan leadership for their cause as they have the same interest but now everything is different. Looking at the recent action from India more to come for Tibetan leadership and I strongly believe India doesn't want to be the sandwich between China and Tibetan leadership and will do something to make the situation more conducive for them.

What else do you expect? Tibetan government in exile has been around for 60 years and they are still the same. They did not show any signs of leaving soon and looks like they are really comfortable being a refugee in India.

They are supposed to fight for the independence of their country and yet they show no passion and no urgency. They waited for 60 years and now they started to get a little worried because His Holiness the Dalai Lama is showing signs of sickness while they do not have any high lama that can take over the Tibetans when His Holiness passes away.

They used to have Karmapa Ogyen Trinley to help them but then he ran away due to the harsh treatment that he received for so many years with CTA. India has aided them so much throughout the years of their stay in India and they should leave now and not trouble India anymore. They have no reason to host them and to endure all the problems that the Tibetans have created.

It is clear why PM Modi has snubbed the Tibetan Leadership. For one thing, it is not in his nor India's interest to entertain Lobsang Sangay and the CTA anymore. China has so clearly shown its displeasure towards the Indian government for still maintaining friendly relations with the Tibetan leadership.

On the side of the Tibetan Leadership, they have not shown themselves as worthy of the continued friendship and hospitality of the Indian government. In the last 60 years, they have not contributed at all to the welfare of their host country . Furthermore, they have discouraged the poor Tibetans in exile from trying to become Indian citizens, thus leaving them in a quandary now. As India is becoming more hostile towards the Tibetan refugees, the Tibetan Leadership by being mulish in their stance towards China, have not done anything to pave the way for their peaceful return to Tibet, China. Instead of seeking ways to open sincere negotiations with the Chinese Government , they have continued to behave bellingerently towards China, encouraging needless self-immolations of Tibetans in China to support the pipe- dream of a "free Tibet" cause.

It is sad to even think of what is going to happen to the poor Tibetans in Exile in India, whose future is so uncertain and whose government is even now distracting them from this serious issue by creating schisms and conflict within, such as by enforcing the ban on Dorje Shugden practice.

It is clear that why India decided to put China as a priority over the Tibetans. Since 1959, the Tibetans had been giving problems to India government. The Indians have been nothing but kind towards the Tibetans but in return, the ungrateful Tibetans did not give anything back to the Indians for 60 years.

When China rises above all and became one of the most powerful countries in the world with her humongous economy, India decided that it is time to reconcile its differences with China to gain profit and benefit to further strengthen their country.

Tibetan in exile should learn their lesson and make up their mind and leave Tibetan settlements for good. There is nothing there for them and they should know it better. They should leave and fight for a better future instead of waiting for their useless government to fight for the Tibetan cause. The cause is dead and there is no way CTA can ever get China to let go of Tibet.

CTA should face the fact that India no longer on their side especially at this current moment where India and China are working very closely in various aspect especially on the economic growth. India has been very kind in providing a place for Tibetan. This not just for them to have a roof to cover under the rain but also allow Tibetans to preserve their culture and tradition. But CTA never thought of that they have been staying for so long and without doing anything in return. How may 60-year CTA want? It's going into the second generation already.

The closer India with China the tougher the situation will be for CTA and the Tibetans. CTA should do something before things got too hard for them.

No one country in the whole wide world willing to host refugees for 60 years. It is more than half a century and still, there is no sign of the Tibetans leaving India. How long are they planning to stay in India? Since they stayed in India for so long, it is just better for them to convert to Indian citizen. It will be better for them as well as for Indians.

There is no one in the Tibetan leadership that can bring Tibetans back to a free Tibet. Lobsang Sangay has been the president of CTA for such a long time and there is no progress on the Tibet cause on his side. All he does is create problems and suffering for many people while pushing his responsibility away.

Tibetan will never go back to Tibet and His Holiness is not young anymore. Once His Holiness passes into clear light, the hope for the Tibetans go back to Tibet will not be realistic anymore.

India is very kind to host Tibetans for the past 60 years. There is no doubt that the presence of the Dalai Lama and other high lamas have helped to bring tourists to India but what Tibetans have contributed to India is nothing compared to what India has given to them.

India is working very hard to resolve the conflicts and disagreements with China so that their relationship can improve and they can work together to grow stronger and make Asia the next superpower. When Asia has become the next superpower, Asians cannot be bullied or suppressed by the westerners anymore. We have been bullied by the western powers for more than a century, this has to be changed.

The CTA is so selfish that its members of parliament only look at what they can get. They don't realise if Asia becomes strong, they will get even bigger benefits. All I can say is the CTA is short-sighted, selfish and backward. They are ungrateful because they are not helping India to improve its relationship with China. They could have done this as a gesture of appreciation instead of organising the "Thank you India" event which is a waste of money and so superficial.

India is now doing its best to please China and no longer cares about the Tibetans because the "Tibet card" is not a good strategy anymore. It's better to just work with China aand get better benefits from good bilateral relations. What does India get from being friendly with Tibetans?

There is nothing that India can get from the Tibetans. For the past 60 years, what did India get from Tibetans other than more problems with China? It is a one-sided relationship where India provided everything for Tibetans to have a comfortable life in India. The Tibetans being the ungrateful people, they did not repay India's kindness.

Instead, they are the direct cause of the relationship between India and China to turn sour. There is absolutely no reason for India to keep the Tibetans on their land. It is a waste of resources and time. India is better off getting into China's good books to bring benefit for their people.

Tibetans will not be able to pull their stunt much longer. Soon, India will have enough of Tibetans and they will be evicted out of India. Hence, Tibetans should take the opportunity to leave CTA and join other countries such as India.
