Wow! I just saw a new product being launched on the DS online shop. It is a Dorje Shugden Gift Set.
This is such a great idea for beginners who wants to start the practice. This set makes it easy for people who are interested to know more about Dorje Shugden and wants to start the practice. Furthermore, the price is very reasonable! It makes a great gift to give to family and friends.

This is interesting and beautifully design and well thought. And the packaging is definitely decent as gift packs for people who wishes to know more about the dharma king DS. I've got it all separately minus the box to keep the items.... :)

Yes it is such a great idea to have a portable altar to bring when travelling. It is a complete protection for us either to bring along or even to give as present to loved ones and friends.
It will be better if it is available in other languages as well, then more people will be blessed by the King Dorje Shugden and be protected.
The two items in the box set i.e. DS Comic books which tells the story of Dorje Shugden and the introduction to DS which explains the iconography of DS will be very useful for us to introduce this practice to new people and avoid the mistakes of giving wrong information.

Wow! I have got to get a few sets. I recently gave my tsa tsa away to a friend who was facing some problems with bad dreams. I also taught her the mantra and introduced her to this website. This was about 2 weeks ago. She has since slept much better. Therefore, DS helps. And this is a great gift for many to start their practice!

This is a brilliant idea indeed! This so called box set is important for beginners to have so that they can understand and learn more of Lord Shugden and the history behind it. It also helps people to have a clear understand about Lord Shugden and the controversy behind it which is imperative for one to know and be clear of. Whoever came up with this idea must be very creative and I must congratulate the team behind this. Bravo!

In olden times thangkas were an effective means for one's practice when traveling from one place to another. Set up tent to camp, unfurl the thangkas from the horse's saddle and set up an altar. Walk some distance to fetch water from a river/stream as offerings. Today, few people travel on horses unless in remote hilly regions. This box set is ideal for modern people who travels in modern transportation. Check into a hotel, unpack and set up the altar. Open up hotel's fridge and viola! Different types of beverages for offerings. How convenient.

This is something new. Very innovative of this website team to devise such an attractive way to introduce new practitioners to dorje shugden. And very complete in its own way, based on what I can see of the giftset. I will probably purchase a few sets for some of my closets friends who, thus far, have been tip-toeing around his practi, but never really started. Now there will be no excuse! Excellent work people!

Brilliant idea. I hope this sells well...very professional way of spreading the lineage, and Im sure the teachings in it are authentic and accurate too. Yeah like thor said, no excuse not to start our practice if its this easy - you dont even need a lama there to help you (not that Im discounting the importance of our teachers...you know, like the CTA seems so fond of doing).

It would be great if there is a specially designated prayer book with Dorje Shugden's prayers, and a separate book that describes the practice commentary.

Honestly, I don't really like the whole commercialism of this gift set but I understand it will bring tremendous benefit to a lot of people out there. Delivering and packaging Dorje Shugden this way will bring the practice to many people. This is the only way to go for today's world.
I had similar feelings towards the Dorje Shugden comic when it first came out on this site. However, I do find that the artwork is very good and the story is pretty accurate. Nonetheless, I rejoice and I do hope that these packages will go all over the world and deliver Dorje Shugden's blessings all over the world.

This is really a great way to introduce Dorje Shugden to newbies and getting them on to the practice immediately. Imagine going to friends who are in need of our Protector's help, explaining to them the benefits of the Shugden practice and then reciting the prayers together with them.
There is no doubts that our Protector can help many people but during these degenerate times, people find a lot of obstacles in learning dharma and even in coming into contact with the image of our enlightened Protector. Therefore the beginners set is a brilliant way of bringing dharma to people and getting Dorje Shugden into their loves.

I personally think this set is more appropriate for new practitioners who doesn't know where to start. I have people messaging me on facebook asking me what prayers to do, etc. I think this will help them greatly. To have a guide book, an image to meditate on and a pendant for daily protection. Good work to the dorjeshugden.com team once again for thinking in all aspects to benefit others.

Personally, it would be nice if the boxed set includes a nice prayer book that contains the short and medium length sadhana of Dorje Shugden in the boxed set as well. When people get the boxed set they can immediately start their Sadhana. Most people who would buy the boxed set are people who want to do the practice of Dorje Shugden already anyway. Besides, having the sadhana at home in the altar is a very powerful way of blessing the environment. I would really buy a boxed set and bring it whenever I travel so that I can purify the environment that I am in as it will not only benefit me but also benefit the beings and environment whenever I go. I find that Dorje Shugden's mantra usually has a very calming effect whenever I recite it, what more the sadhana?
In any case, I would like to congratulate the team behind this fantastic product as it helps everyone to learn about Dorje Shugden in a much more streamlined way. May more people get touched by Dorje Shugden through this method!

Nice design, Dorje Shugden looks so peaceful, and so does the mood/colour of the entire box set. Upon sight, it instantly sends out the message to me to : "pick me up, and check me out!" Just alone from the aesthetics of the box, it gives out a calming feeling to me, personally. How fitting to Dorje Shugden's practise!

This gift set has everything needed to start the practice: tsa tas for alter, pendants for wearing, comics book and introduction book for the prayers, and I think it is perfect for beginners because it has all the knowledge required.

Awesome! This is such a wonderful starter kit for one to start Lord Dorje Shugden’s practice anytime, anywhere. I like it comes with pendant. I can just put on the pendant and bring Lord DS with me everywhere and be blessed by him!
The story book is so colourful and easy to read that I can know of the history of Lord DS while the introduction book gives me a short but complete explanation of Lord DS, it’s lineage, it’s benefit, and I can follow it’s guide to do daily prayer in front of the beautiful golden colour DS Tsa Tsa! Wonderful! ;)

Dharma gift is a bit tricky to present, I would be very careful in choosing to whom I could give this beginner's set.. However, it is very well thought of and it could even be used by people who would like to start their DS practice, buying it for themselves instead of giving it away..
Some may not like the commercial-nature of this gift set, but personally I do not have any objection as long it is well accepted and serves its purpose of spreading dharma..

I've seen the real thing...hehe, just that i feel that the tsa tsa can be a little big larger. it looks tiny on my altar. or rather i should invite a bigger statue of him into my house. Overall, its a tremendous effort to bring king of protector to every household from DS.com

Wonderful ! Perfect gift for my protectorless friends this coming Xmas , from where i come from it is not easy to get such precious gifts.

I figured that logically, people who get the boxed set are not people who do not know who Dorje Shugden is. They know who he is, and they want to know more, particularly on his practice and his Sadhana. I would. I would be really happy to have a boxed set with a sadhana, tsatsa and short explanation. For me, its more of a way to allow people to connect to Dorje Shugden with an easier method. If I was introduced to a new yidam, my first instinct is to look up the mantra and the sadhana of that Yidam. This goes the same with Dorje Shugden and from his Sadhana, i found it very easy to be in tune with Dorje Shugden. If other people have it as well, it would be easy for them to learn about Dorje Shugden in their own personal way.

Oh yes! I have a feeling that the online shop will grow and will have a lot of people buying from them simply because, there is a need. A need for a Dharma protector that will solve their problems on both a secular and spiritual level.
Feedback aside, I think that the boxed set is a very wonderful addition to the online store. It would, also, sit well in new age shops and bookshops as I see them having tarot and voodoo kits for sale, alongside with Tara boxed sets and their instant Buddhist kits and so on. if they can have those for sale, why not Dorje Shugden?

This kit makes so easy for anyone around the world to start on this practice. This is so nicely done and it has the short intro to Dorje Shugden inclusive of a short kangso as well. As long as the ban remains this website seems even more increasingly determined to come out with more and more ideas to spread Dorje Shugden even further afield. I don’t think the gift set looks commercial at all. It looks practical and well designed. However, just some feedback, my friend ordered one set and said that the tsa tsa was very heavy though. Perhaps you might consider making lighter tsa tsas so that the postage isn’t such a killer.
I was thinking that as someone else has said, it is a good idea to add a sadhana book in the gift set but since there isn’t one – for whatever reasons dorjeshugden.com has for excluding it – there are of course the online prayers which anyone can download. Thank you for constantly creating new products for us. Where I live, it is very difficult to have access to praying objects, more so Dorje Shugden merchandise. This starter kit is a very good idea as it is so practical. I will use it as a travelling kit as I travel often and I can now set up altars in hotel rooms. The Tibetans were nomadic in nature and carried thankas with them. Today's practitioners carry starter kits like these. Times have changed but the practice remains.

Maybe you are a modern nomad since you say you travel so much! Or perhaps a Tibetan in your past life.
I like what you said about that times have changed but the practice remains. I feel that Buddhism has really been a faith that has evolved over time to keep up with contemporary developments.
Dorje Shugden practice is relatively new, being only 350 years old or so, but I like it that even though it is a few centuries old, I feel that Dorje Shugden is so close to us and through products like this, more and more people in these modern times can learn about this fantastic practice.

The comic summarized the story of Dorje Shugden in a glance and a more detail booklet of the origin of the practice enable us to get a better understanding despite the controversial which confuses people's mind. For those who wants to take one step further to start practice can start immediately! and it is also a great gift for people! Even though it is very commercial but during this degenerate times, it is vital to preserve Buddha's teachings in whatever way we could as long as it is not disrespectful to the Buddha and contradicts the teaching.

Wow...this fantastic!!! It is also be very useful who is rarely know about Dorje Shugden but having doubt about Him because of what CTA have created their version of Dorje Shugden. With this complete set, which illustrate a true wisdom, compassion and protection from Lord Dorje Shugden which will be very beneficial for who wants to take His practice seriously. I do agree with Big Uncle on the commercialism aspect however we are living in the degenerate age and to "get to" the masses we need advertisement, we need social media and all of that comes in nice "packaging" which in turn spurs commercialism. It cannot be avoided in this day and age. We change with the times... just look at our own pictures 20 years ago... so why can't Buddhism adapt and change to... at least in the way it is disseminated and made available to the masses.
I do find the box set a very convenient way of spreading the practice as it has all the elements for someone to start practicing immediately. And on another note is is perfect for practitioners who travel as this is the perfect travelling set. Prior to this I would have a tsa tsa and various other bits and bobs that I carry along in my luggage and I set up a make shift alter in my hotel room wherever I am in the world. With this box set, it is literally a "plug and play" phenomenon. Love it!
Finally they make perfect gifts for friends as it provides all the basics for a an aspiring practitioner. Kudos to the people behind this and may more innovative ideas be created in the spread of Dorje Shugden!

I'm thinking, since it is a boxed set, can it be sold in bookshops? Wouldnt it be amazing for someone to go to a bookshop, saw the boxed set and decide to buy it out of curiosity and it plants imprints into their minds and they reap benefits from the practice, and then spread it to their friends? I think that would be a really awesome thing to happen. As more and more people would know about Dorje Shugden, they could only benefit from it and if they have any doubts, they could always come here to find out for themselves everything about Dorje Shugden.

There are two main reasons why i think that this set is going to be a good idea. One, it is a good way in getting people to start practicing Dorje Shugden. By allowing and offering people the opportunity to practice Dorje Shugden, it will surely spread Dorje Shugdens teaching to many more people around the world. Two, because the set it so easy to understand and use, a lot of people will be convinced that Dorje Shugdens teachings are practical and effective. Not only would this also bring more people to practice Dorje Shugden, but it would also encourage more people to be loyal practitioners.

Definitely a nice gift to anyone who wishes to connect with the Protector for his blessings. Other than giving it as Christmas presents as many suggested, we could also offer the gift sets to our Lama during holy auspicious events, ie. Lama's Birthday, Je Tsongkapa Day, Losar Day or even our own birthdays. How wonderfully beneficial this holy gift box could be!! This set is not just as gift ideasfor some starting on the path and connection with Dorje Shugden. This is also great when you travel as you can set up you mini altar in whereby you happen to stay for the short period of time. You can continue to make offerings and prayers daily as though you are home as you are home with Dorje Shugden. Thanks to whoever came up with the idea.
