Rejoicing news! After Shar Gaden Monastery's grand opening in December 2009, another new monastery of Dorje Shugden lineage is having their grand opening this coming Friday December 2 - SERPOM Monastery!

Rejoice that the sangha can practice Dharma and Dorje Shugden freely without political interference.

May Dharma flourish! May Lama Tsongkhapa's teachings flourish! May Dorje Shugden's lineage flourish!

Below is Serpom's grand opening invitation card, anybody going? Please share some exciting news!

Thank you  Mana and Losang Tenpa for informing of news to be rejoicing about. To me it signifies another step towards the ban being lifted.

After 1400 years that Buddhist monasteries have disappeared from India, more Buddhist monasteries are now flourishing in the land of its birth again. May Buddhism once again spread in India and all over from the monasteries that are now growing in South India.

The date was pushed back to accommodate the annual Winter Debates ( Jang Gun-Choe, ?????????????) between Shar Gaden and Serpom. The dabates will last 3 weeks. The opening ceremony will start right after this on the 18th. 170+ monks just left Shar Gaden tonight to participate in the debates.

I have heard that many people will be attending from India, Nepal, America ,France and etc.

It is going to be so grand. I wish I can be there as it is a mark in our Shugden history. Can you imagine, how many more scholars will "graduate" from Serpom and they have Shugden as their main protector practice. Wow!

May many more Shugden monasteries and institution manifest in a very near future

From the picture of the card, the Main Prayer Hall in Serpom Monastery looks so grand. It would be a blessing just to visit this monastery and witness this historic event. I do wish to visit the great monasteries like Serpom and Shar Gaden. May more great monasteries flourish and benefit more people. Dorje Shugden does bless us greatly.

Yes, so happy to hear a new DS monastery established again.

That means the Lama Tsongkhapa's teaching will be spreading very fast and widely at that area.  The Buddha Wisdom, Manjushri--will be conquer all of us from this century.

DS will like a captain to help the Buddha can do their pretty good and benefit all sentient beings. While a DS monastery come out or build up means that is something very big will be come out too.

Now, I am thinking if one day that whole world all the corner will build up a DS monastery, that is so wonderful and perfect!!!

In addition to the grand ceremonies, I believe my compassionate guru, Kyabje Yongyal Rinpoche, who is serving as the abbot of the monastery, will be bestowing the grand initiations of Guhyasamaja, Chakrasamvara, and Vajrabhairava.  I had the good fortune to do a tsog offering with Rinpoche a few weeks ago before his leaving for India.  I hope all those who can receive his teachings will be blessed and experience spontaneous bliss and emptiness!

I rejoice! I am so happy that another DS practising monastery has established. Depsite the difficulties these monks face, they did not give up their practice. Now they even have their monastery built! It must be the blessings from DS also. I wish I could go to witness and participate the opening ceremony, to listen to hundreds of monks chanting.

The opening will be such a joyous event! Looking forward to seeing the pictures and hopefully videos too!

It is because of monasteries like Serpom and many more, who continued to be steadfast in their faith, practice and dedication despite the religious persecutions, that we have great masters and teachers spreading the dharma.

May Serpom receive all that is needed to continue their very beneficial works.

Thank you all for the welcome. I have the immense good fortune to live 10 minutes away from Kyabje Yongyal Rinpoche in the US.  Therefore, through many eons of gathering the two accumulations, I can behold the face of my compassionate guru with ease and receive personal teachings and transmissions from him. Kyabje Rinpoche is always speaking about the merits and benefits of the Dorje Shugden practice.

From my other compassionate guru, Venerable Kundeling Rinpoche, I learned about the hardships Yongyal Rinpoche endured in other to stay faithful to the instructions from his root lama, Kyabje Trijang Dorje Chang, and the Protector Dorje Shugden. Therefore, indeed, Yongyal Rinpoche is the wishfulfilling jewel of our precious Ganden Close Lineage.  Rinpoche holds all the transmissions in our lineage, making him a pure lineage holder.  He is always practicing.  When we have meals together at restaurants, when we are waiting for the food to come, he is reciting his sadhanas from his little sadhana compendium. Every time I see Rinpoche, he has a sadhana in front of him.  He never wastes a moment of time doing non-Dharma activities.

Therefore, with the list of Guru Mantras in the home page, I would like to request the Guru Mantra of Yongyal Rinpoche added:  OM AH GURU VAJRADHARA WAGINDRA SUMATI SHASANA DHARA KARMA SUMUDRA SIDDHI HUM HUM.

Cho Dorje Do you record when Kyabjye Yongyal Rinpoche is giving teachings on video perhaps? It would be awesome to see your lama on a video since I cannot be close to him. Also is there a bio about Kyabjye Yongyal Rinpoche ? Have you shown him the Graphic Novel and 'Illustrated Story'  made by this website and also all the other things like brochures and etc. thanks for sharing some snippets of how Kyabjye Yongyal Rinpoche attends to his life. I tried to search for pictures and more information about him but not much available on the net.

Kyabje Rinpoche is extremely low key... When he first came to the US, devotees offered him a very very big multi-acre plot of land that would have been big enough to build a center just as big as Kyabje Trijang Choktrul Rinpoche's center in Vermont.  However, Rinpoche compassionately declined the offer and said that those who have the causes of receiving teachings from him will naturally come.  There is no need to maintain a big, grand expensive center.  He's very very low key.

Kundeling Rinpoche once wanted to compile a collection of the heroic deeds of these lineage masters such as Yongyal Rinpoche and what they suffered in order to preserve their Dorje Shugden practice.  On behalf of Kundeling Rinpoche, I made many requests to Yongyal Rinpoche.  At the end, Yongyal Rinpoche said his biography would simply be, "Was recognized at a young age, studied at Sera Monastery, received Geshe degree in 1980, and then moved to USA. It's just that simple."

In another incident, Kundeling Rinpoche requested Yongyal Rinpoche to come out as a "spiritual leader" of the Dorje Shugden movement.  Yongyal Rinpoche simply replied, "Oh, I am very ignorant, can't even speak English... This is a task for you new generation who are more smart and talented than I am. I am just an ignorant monk."

I will make requests to Rinpoche and ask about making his teachings available.  In the meantime, we must all pray for the long life of lineage masters such as Yongyal Rinpoche.  While some of us serve to fight for the rights of practitioners and make the issue known, precious lamas such as Yongyal Rinpoche serve the cause by bestowing teachings.

Dear ChoDorje
Thank you for such a heartwarming sharing about your lama, Yongyal Rinpoche. Besides him being such a humble monk, what struck me also is his statement in regards to having the new generation to lead the Dorje Shugden movement! I'd interpret this as lay people, everyday normal people who have received Dorje Shugden as their protector to lead this movement.

Patrons having helped to build Serpom, and the many supporters who will be attending this auspicious opening of Serpom will certainly send a message to the world.. a message that though there has been so much persecutions, Dorje Shugden practitioners stand strong in faith because of how Dorje Shugden has helped us.

And you kindly making your lama's teachings known would bring so much happiness to many.

my best wishes to you

Dear Cho Dorje,
The way you speak about your guru is commendable, and it speaks volumes about your teacher as it is how he has taught you and how you see him. I have heard volumes about Kyabje Yongyal Rinpoche, mostly from my teacher who was a student of Kyabje Zong Rinpoche hence the connection.
I am unfortunately unable to visit Serpom for the opening and the teachings by Kyabje Rinpoche but some of my friends are, and I envy them this opportunity to be in the presence of your holy teacher.

I am excited and would very much like to witness this in person but photos will do fine too. A funny thought came to me that what if the Dalai Lama suddenly calls off the ban and orders the monasteries to  get back together. Wishful thinking? I know. But that is going to be such a Milarepa situation.

All my sincerest and best wishes to Serpom, who have only shown the whole world the real blessings and power of mighty Dorje Shugden. By this alone, it is clear that Dorje Shugden cannot be an evil spirit, for how can an evil spirit be creating so much growth in the dharma - it is contradictory and does not match.

Most of all, the Sangha of Serpom and Shar Gaden have shown the real strength of a Dorje Shugden practitioner and a true Buddhist. They have shown the world that no matter what the obstacle and no matter how much they are trodden upon, they will never give up their loyalties, commitment, devotion and compassion. They have not only continued their practices in the face of hardship but continued to make it grow against all odds and with no support from their own people. And most importantly, they have achieved all this without uttering a single bad word against the perpetrators of the ban. This is true the true practice and compassion of a true Buddhist practitioner.

Thank you to all the Sangha of Serpom and Shar Gaden for showing us real true, live examples of practice in this day and age. You are an inspiration for us at every moment.

Congratulations and I rejoice at the very successful grand opening of Serpom Monastery, a new DS monastery. Being headed by such a highly capable great Master like Yongyal Geshe Rinpoche, Serpom(like Shar Gaden and other great Shugden monasteries) will surely shine as a beacon to spread Je Tsongkapa's teachings and the practice of its Protector, Dorje Shugden.

THe sangha who worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth and harmonious grand opening of this monastery are to be lauded too, for their efforts and actions(in the face of so much opposition and often aggressive opposition) reflect their strong focus on the Dharma and showcase to the world how these devoted  Dorje Shugden practitioners are so  committed to the spread of Je Tsongkapa's lineage teachings.
