Title: February 9th - South India
Post by: three pots on February 09, 2008, 05:06:57 AM
Well,

It is 10:30am in India as I write this and one can only imagine what is happening from half-way around the world.

I have heard some rather disheartening news this evening, morning in South India, regarding Pomra Khangtsen.  It sounds as though they are not willing to "excuse" themselves from the monastery and have requested an official letter from Sera Mey stating that they are being expelled from the monastery based on their refusal to denounce Dorje Shugden.

In response the Tibean Government in Exile has petitioned Tibetans to protest at the gates of Pomra Khangtsen by the thousands... they have even offered to send people from Dharamsala... and stated that they would have the backing of the entire Sera Je monastery.

While I was informed that the local police are aware of these goings on, I don't know from whom they have received their information and what measure are being taken to ensure everyone's safety.

I hope that this post can be used by those who have links to South India in order to keep us all informed of what unfolds on this saddest of days.

Thank you.
