Iconogically accurate statues are hard to find!

This online store is precious as we can be rest assured of the quality and reliability of products and services.

I ordered a staute a few months ago, it was delivered to me as indicated, the statute is of very good quality and as featured on the website. Normally I do not purchase online for fear of being conned. But the picture of statues were so beautiful and I can't find the same quality anywhere else... Hence ordered, paid by credit card...Kept my fingers crossed.

And I was so happy to have received the statue on time and in excellent condition.

Thank you very much to the admin team.

I really like the fact that the statues are just detailed, the proportion is just perfect and the fact that the statue is just so huge that there's plenty of space and opportunities to make offerings onto the holy representation of Dorje Shugden's body. This statue is perfect for institutions and very meritorious individuals who want to clear obstacles and create good connection with Dorje Shugden himself.

The statues offered on this online store are miraculously done well.  The team ensured that the statues are made with the right iconography.  I just love them.  Few months ago I have actually ordered one as a gift for a friend who has wanted to get so much.  Friend's birthday was around the corner.  Hence, ordered one and sent to him directly! You know what?  He was so elated and was flabbergasted that he received the gift from an "unknown source" (intentionally).

Thank you team for continuing increasing items available online.

Everyone should get one! What an incredible blessing to be able to gaze at Dorje Shugden day and night. To me there is so much purpose and teaching in the iconography of Dorje Shugden alone. And it is not easy to find such beautiful and finely crafted statues, especially of the King of Protector.

I prefer mine in antique paint treatment and as fierce as possible. No matter how fierce Dorje Shugden may look, I can only see an extremely compassionate albeit powerful Buddha who is more than willing to offer his personal friendship and protection for all those who seek Dharma sincerely. I simply love looking at our Protector.

Dorjeshugden.com is truly an incredible site which has done so much for the spread of the practice. And now it brings beautiful statues of the Protector into our homes.

Great news, I rejoice to hear that people are creating such blessed and large images of Shugden. The larger the merit, the greater the merit, from the craftsman, to the sponsor, to the practitioner.

Would be a great idea to have this statue as the central image of an altar, surrounded by smaller images of the other emanations and entourage. It would be perfect for a statue or an individual practitioner's private practice room.

For our new friends who may be wondering what the big deal is about how big the statues are or not (pun intended), there is a lot of significance in the sizing, detailing and creation of statues. We are taught to view the statues not just as statues, but as a "vessel" (for lack of a better word) that the enlightened beings (in this case, Dorje Shugden) will be invited to reside within. They are not just a block of metal / wood etc. They become the Buddhas themselves. So we should put as much effort as we want towards making the statues as beautiful and perfect as possible - this is an offering of effort on our part, which is very powerful.

Size matters, across many levels - the larger the statue, the more time is spent by the craftsman making the statue. For every moment that he spends on the statue, he is collecting tremendous merit for this and future lives. The sponsor will have to spend more money to "purchase" the statue - this is also symbolic of the effort that he has spent to earn that money, which he now puts towards a Dharma item which people will come to worship and pray to.

Then, the larger the statue, the "easier" it is for more beings to see the statue (this is why, in some places, there are very huge outdoor statues, which can be seen for miles around by people and animals all around the region). It also increases the chances for small beings, like small animals, insects, birds etc to touch or sit upon or circumambulate the statue, thus also creating great merit.

So this is indeed great news to rejoice in, knowing how many more beings will be able to see Dorje Shugden in this larger form and receive such powerful merit. Thank you for the news and I wish that everyone here will one day have the chance to bring home their very own large DS too.

Please do let me know how they sent the statue out?  At 1 metre height, it must have been very expensive if it was sent by courier service?   Are there alternate delivery methods?  Did they arrange door-to-door?

WOW! 40 inches! Amazing! You guys are really growing BIG! The biggest statue I have is a Tsongkhapa on my altar. Hhmmm... I SO wish I can afford a statue this size in my house. I can still hear my mum's voice, "enough already. Our house is becoming a Gompa!" LOL. But seriously, it will be great because the bigger the statue, the more holy items can be put inside and whenever we make offerings, it will be more merits. ::)

making offerings to Dorje Shugden statues, the bigger they are the better. I find it very true from my personal experience with the statues of Je Tsongkhapa and Dorje Shugden that they grow with time. And as their sizes grow, with diligent practice, unwavering faith and clean Samaya with our Gurus and protector, all animate and inanimate things will come into place to help push us further to the next level of our practice.

The essence of making offerings is actually to give up our miserliness and at the same time when done with an altruistic motivation, generates merits to help support our meditations and practice.

I totally rejoice as i feel ecstatic when I saw these beautiful statues up for ppl to invite back to their homes or temples to pray.

May lord Shugden open the golden doors of liberation!

Very beautiful statues of Dorje Shugden to invite home. 1 metre is a good size for meditation, it can stood out quite well and with this size we can offered and put in many mantras and holy items into the statues...Making offerings to huge statues with the correct motivation creates immense merits and help to clear obstacles in our practices.

Magnificent!!! The statues looks very detailed and grand, definitely size does matter. How lucky we are to be able to have the opportunity own such a statue. Imagine having this statue in our house at the entrance where we are greeted by Dorje Shugden when we enter our house! So much blessings.

Also, when friends and guests visit us in our homes, they would meet and admire Dorje Shugden in his full glory. This will plant dharma seeds in them and one day when their karma ripens, they would be able to practice Dharma and gain attainments.

Furthermore, the proceeds are to support the monks in Shar Gaden. In fact, when you buy a statue, you not only progress in your Dharma practice by having a statue to make offerings to and meditate on, you also gain merits by supporting the monastery. Kill two birds with one stone! This is how I like it!!

The Dorje Shugden statues are so beautiful. From the photos , every "stroke" of line on the statue is very fine. These statue is very well made. A well made statue not only useful during visualization practice, but it is an art that can be put in offices or homes. With a Buddha's statue like Dorje Shugden's, not only the place will be blessed,  but the viewer will feel the strength and quality that Dorje Shugden represent. Thus it is like a reminder for the practitioner.
Invite a statue from a reliable source such as from this website is important. At least , if we want to visualize the forms of Dorje Shugden, we can be sure that this is the forms, with correct hand mudra, features etc.

I really love this rupa of Dorje Shugden, although it would be so much better to have it painted as the resources for painting here are difficult to find and they are not Dorje Shugden friendly even if they are available. Although I understand that it would complicate shipping and logistics and it is a chance to allow the person who invited the statue to make offerings to it, but personally I would like it a lot better if it was painted because I lack the resources to fill up the statues and to paint them myself. If I had the resources, i would not mind painting the statues and filling them up at all. that aside, the statues are amazing! they would go so well on my altar and this website and its team of people have done such an amazing job of sourcing such a detailed statue. It only makes sense that the worlds' most authoritative resource on Dorje Shugden has all kinds of products related to Dorje Shugden. It must have took the team a lot of effort to actually source the statues and made them available online. They have really came a long way since 2007 and grown so big since then!

May this website and the team behind it grow more and more so that more and more people can benefit from it. may more and more people have rupas of Dorje Shugden to bless them and their environment.

I have purchased two of these statues already. I really admire the workmanship and it all arrived safely for me as it was packed really well. It is really worth it to have in your home. So rare to obtain these holy images in this size especially. Otherwise why do we work so hard if we don't put it towards our spirituality and the growth of it? Just my thoughts.

And the profits go towards supporting Dorje Shugden institutions. Our 'donation' in purchasing this holy image goes to supporting our cause. Double excellence!

To help us appreciate the statue better, i would like to share here the iconography of Dorje Shugden as well. From the description the statue has it all, making it a very essential piece for any Dorje Shugden practitioner. It is important to understand the iconography of the statue so that we know what is it about and we can understand Dorje Shugden better.

Quote
Dorje Shugden’s form teaches the complete stages of the path of Sutra and Tantra. This proves that he is an enlightened being because such qualities are not possessed by the forms of worldly beings.

He appears as a fully ordained monk to show that the practice of pure moral discipline is essential for those who wish to attain enlightenment. In his left hand he holds a heart, which symbolizes great compassion and spontaneous great bliss — the essence of all the stages of the vast path of Sutra and Tantra.

His round yellow hat represents the view of Nagarjuna, and the wisdom sword in his right hand (like the one held by Manjushri and Je Tsongkhapa) teaches us to sever ignorance, the root of samsara, with the sharp blade of Nagarjuna’s view. This is the essence of all the stages of the profound path of Sutra and Tantra. He rides a snow lion, symbolizing the four fearlessnesses of a Buddha.

The explanation of his remaining features can be found in Heart Jewel, as can the specific enlightened function of each of the thirty-two Deities of his mandala, which are explained in a prayer written by Sachen Kunlo, one of the great Sakya Lamas.

Only enlightened beings display a meaningful aspect that teaches the entire path to enlightenment. Therefore, Dorje Shugden is a Buddha.

Wow, it is so beautiful and fabulous!  8)
1Meter is a great size to have for the altar. It will be very helpful for us to see it clearly especially when we do our meditation and visualization in front of this statue. (for details of his iconography, can refer to the table & picture in http://www.dorjeshugden.com/introduction/for-beginners/i-am-new-here-a-step-by-step-starter-kit/ (http://www.dorjeshugden.com/introduction/for-beginners/i-am-new-here-a-step-by-step-starter-kit/))
In addition, with this size, i'm sure I can insert a lot of mantras, Buddha images, holy text and even wealth vases into it. It will surely help to multiply our merits doing prayers in front of him.  ;D
I am saving up money and want to invite one home to bless our family and surroundings. Thank you dorjeshugden.com for making it and make it possible for us to invite home.

Is this the same as the 8inch one that you have except that it is much bigger? This is very well made. However I am surprise that the prices for brass and copper made are the same. I often come onto your website and look at your merchandise as they are well made with reasonable pricing. Now I need to save up my year end bonus to purchase this one. It would be awesome.

Think it is...looks like it. Wonder what other finishings theyve got. Itd be pretty cool to get a full colour one with the works. You know, like with flesh-colored skin to make it look realistic because the statues already life-like as it is.

There is nowhere else I can get such an incredible statue. Kudos to the team again for making such wonderful items available to us. I will surely save up to invite one home at the soonest possible moment.

Thank you Dorje Shugden. com for making such rare finely crafted statues available to all. I particularly like the level of details gone into making the statue like like and proportionate.

The design of the snow lion looks more Victorian than Tibetan ! It looks more majestic and realistic. Now , all that is left to be done is to dig deep into the pockets to invite such a beauty home lol, especially the largest one . Wow ! I can already picture it being fully painted , I like my statues painted.

Perhaps , you guys can consider making available as an optional item , the " wrathful flames " that most traditional statues of protectors have ? I think it would look so much more "cooler" lol , just my suggestion.

I would love to invite such a large Dorje Shugden image and I think that the sheer size would be very good for adornment and offering onto the statue. Also, it would very grand and perhaps, a statue of this size would be good to set up a small little public chapel. In Asia, the Chinese people have little wayside shrines to the landowner gods. Why can't we have one for Dorje Shugden. However, I think a Dorje Shugden shrine should be a big and grand one and perhaps even with little pictures, tsa-tsas and all manner of Dorje Shugden literature provided.

When I first started on Tibetan Buddhism 5 years ago, I was not favourable to big statues in general. But as I progress and of course attending teachings and also reading up more, I realised the benefit of inviting big statues. Of course, back then I had to fly to Nepal or India to get them as they were not available online and I ended up spending lots of money on the logistic. Therefore, I do appreciate for the administrator to have big statues available online. On top of this, Shugden statues are awfully rare. I have tried sourcing for them in India and Nepal, most statue shops do not carry them due to the controversial. Thank you very much for making it easy for Shugden practioner to invite such beautiful statues.

I really like this brass statue as it is well made and easy to carry especially when we go travelling.  Now we can even order bigger statue from you!  I definitely will spread the news to friends. I can hear them screaming now! :) ;)

Oh wow wow wow... this is super brilliant!!!

A 3feet 1meter statue would be super awesome to have and it is definitely worth the price... only US$8 plus for a 3 feet Dorje Shugden?! Wow... that is really affordable. We buy small statues of less then 20" online for even more at times. This is a steal really.

I really really like the brown copper like coloured one and I would personally like to have only his face painted in the traditional way with features. Does anyone know if they can do this? Are there any extra charges?

What about the inside of the statue, can mantras be inserted inside if we wanted, although it says it is not? I am going to tell my family about this, we could perhaps dedicate a special chapel area for him hmmmm some planning and talking to be done soon  :)

You know your online store has the most beautiful items and rare items that most modern practitioners in the west would find it difficult to obtain. I thank you guys behind this who work so tirelessly in spreading Dorje Shugden to the world. Not many realise but I am sure it is not easy to be doing this while the ban is still on, yet you continue guys passionately spread Dorje Shugden to so many. I really sometimes wonder if there was no ban, would we be so lucky to see so much activities on Dorje Shugden... perhaps this website would not have even exist. So in some silly sense... for me at least, looking at the positives, I am thankful for all this.

This is awesome! Thank you for giving the chance for people to be able to invite large statue home. Large statue definitely has awesome power to bless the whole house or the office. If it is on a personal altar every day we do our prayer on this statue we collect the merits to be able to practice Dharma and at the same time blessed the statue. The place will be very conducive for doing prayers.

Hmm I am wondering if the Dorje Shugden statue has already been consecrated and filled with mantras? Coz I was thinking of inviting one but it would be hard to consecrate it myself as I do not have the necessary tools or items to consecrate and fill up the statue. I also do not know of the procedure to do so, and there are no Dorje Shugden friendly Buddhist centers around where I am that could fill up the statue for me. It would be great if the statues where filled up or that the e-shop has an option to fill up the statues with mantras and holy items for a fee. I wouldnt mind paying that at all!

I am not sure but I think your request may be fulfilled by Admin. After all, this site has amazingly creative and dedicated people working and I am quite sure they will do their best to make sure the practice of Dorje Shugden flourishes. However, you may encounter a small problem from your county's Customs for the Customs officers may want you to open up the statue for their inspection. I think it could be easily opened up, the lotus base may be screwed on after filling.

Hmm...usually if the statue does not make a shaking sound when shaken, it could easily pass through customs without much problems. If I am not mistaken, after a statue has been filled, the base would be sealed with glue, making it almost impossible to open, after observing several of my statues when I invited them already filled. But anyway, it is just a suggestion that i feel might be a good idea to help some of us who are living too far from facilities that may be able to help with the consecration and filling up of the statue because it is not easy to learn and procure the materials for it.

Consecration of statues as explained by Drepung Loseling Monastery :

http://www.drepung.org/Changing/ChangingMenu/Statue-Consecration-2010.htm (http://www.drepung.org/Changing/ChangingMenu/Statue-Consecration-2010.htm)

Traditionally known as Rab-ne, this ceremony involves intensive preparatory rites and rituals of self-generation and the generation of deities into the material substances that are then used to fill the statues and other sacred objects. Invoking the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas through meditation, mantra and music, grand offerings are made to the enlightened beings and their blessings are drawn and absorbed into the objects of consecration.

Statue Consecration Process
To properly consecrate a statue the DLM monks, prior to the ceremony, will perform the tradition of filling the statue with sacred texts, medicinal herbs and other precious articles. The process involves daily rituals and rites during which the monks chant mantras to prepare them for the statue filling. A consecrated statue can help to clear away obstacles and negative energies from the home and the environment thus acting as a healing energy.

Each statue is filled with sacred text, which is first colored in saffron and tightly wrapped into scrolls individual sized for each statue. Scrolls are placed at the head, throat, heart and abdomen of the statue and then locked into place with medicinal herbs and other precious articles imported from India.

This is a rare opportunity to have your Buddhist statue properly consecrated, a process that, if done individually, would take many hours, possibly days, at a substantial cost.

This is indeed interesting. I've always have a rough idea of how statues are consecrated, but i never really have a chance to actually learn the full thing myself because there really isnt a monastery nearby that offers such a service. The price listings for them are also quite high -- it is way beyond my budget to fill it up at Drepung Loseling. Also, we're talking about a Dorje Shugden statue here, who is a 'banned' Dharma protector in which most probably they will refuse to help me fill it up and consecrate it.

But I guess there are books elsewhere that will help me out with it. Neverthenless, it is a very interesting read from Jessie Fong tho, thank you for the info :)

One need not have to be considered a Buddhist in order to procure a likeness of the Buddha for  home or place of business. The Buddha is recognized as a symbol of peace of mind. I have seen  Buddha  statues in hotels and holiday resort lobbies  and waiting rooms to encourage an atmosphere of well-being and calm.  Thank you Dondrup Shugden for leading to view more unique and beautiful statues and accessories at the online shop in ds.com and vajrasecrets.com  . Interesting online shops!
