Seriously, what is the point of history if not to learn from the past for a better present and future? How can one nation’s, the USA, constitution on freedom not be read and learnt. Not to mention this particular extract here about politics and religion NOT to be twins.

I have read many posts and comments where this is skillful means by the DL to ensure DS survives through negative publicity of a Ban. As much as I see the rationale behind this logic, I still have my doubts if the DL is truly so pure in his motivation? Did he really never waiver from his spiritual-ness? How about the coverage that he is funded by the West? Why ? So that he remains a torn in the back of the Chinese. Did the DL become a pawn for the bigger world powers? Was his holiness exploited as he was desperate to free Tibet?

It is disheartening and I am embarrassed to ask such questions but as Thomas Jefferson said, once politics and religion mix it corrupts.

On the surface and superficially what Thomas Jefferson think of 14th Dalai Lama may be true in his view point. Meaning that if a Ban is imposed on a practice of Dorje Shugden. And the practice of Dorje Shugden is part of Buddhism where majority of people especially the Tibetans have been practicing for 400 years is stopped. It will discouraged people from the Buddhist religion. Rather than than saying it will be the cause for Dalai Lama's short life spasm. On the other hand Dalai Lama has been practicing before and people who are devoted to Dalai Lama will believe this prophesy. As Dalai Lama is considered to be the manifestation of Avalokestsvra there my be reason why he is doing this as Buddhas don't hurt or make people suffer.

It is sad to see the decline of a ruling power, an entire nation taken away. It has been half a century that tibetans have not gotten back control over their country, and it seems bleak especially with the Dalai Lama getting older in age with no successor in the horizon.

Could it be the application of the wrong formula in ruling the nation by combining religion and politics? Which country has been successful by using this formula?

Could it be the collective karma of the people to have lost their country?

With the loss of the country into the hands of the Chinese, will this be of benefit to the spread of Dharma or not?
