Is it alright not to obey the Dalai Lama now? It is fine with me:).
Actually, sometimes even Buddhas can act like any sort of being: confused beings, insane beings, etc. So even if we think someone is a Buddha, we should still check and make sure what they are saying makes sense: so there are a lot of theories about why the Dalai Lama would ban Shugden, a full Buddha that he had relied on in the first place. He could be decoying China? No, guys, I really hate that Buddha over there.... please don't practice that. Oh? And the Karmapa? That guy you all picked.... he's the one.
Very clever really. Now since he's teaching in reverse, let's ask him again to lift this ban, shall we?

There's nothing new within the Tibetan structure of instructions and ruling as there's never a consistency. As to who Gyalchen Karma Trinley is, I've heard little of him within the Tibetan community and to identify him is rather easy. The fact that he does not have a throne in the Gompa tells you that he's nothing near enlightened.

What provokes me is that why the members of the Sangha including the abbots allow this? Has this become a form of massacre which has turned into a joke of the century? How can we preserve the essence of Gyalwa Je Tsongkhapa's stainless teachings like this?

Dalai Lama contradicting himself on Dorje Shugden’s practice, he has enforced the ban on Dorje Shugden on the context it’s spirit worship or the worship of non-enlightened beings. However, Sera monastery, one of the famous universities is allowed to perform the worldly god trance in the monastery with Elite masters engaging in this ceremony, which is against Dalai Lama’s instruction. As a pure Buddhist practitioners we only take refuge in the 3 Jewels; the Buddha, Dharma & Sangha.

As observed on the video – During dorje shugden’s trance he will be seated on the high throne & the monks will go up to him for blessings. Whereas during worldly god -Gaylchen Karma Trinley’s trance, his actions seemed inappropriate & you can see that the monks are bemused by his action, this should not be happening during a sacred ceremony.

It's not fair to single out Dorje Shugden as faulty.

The ban to stop practicing Dorje Shugden is quite confusing. In one hand they said that practitioners are not suppose to worship worldly gods or spirits but in the video clip, a worldly god is taking trance and running around and also sharing tea with the high lamas in the a main monastery, Sera Je. To my understanding is that Dorje Shugden is an enlightened being. Everytime he took trance, he sits on a throne and is highly respected. People starts queing up to offer khatas to him instead of the opposite. If the monastery can worship worldly gods then the ban should be lifted & allow those who believed to continue praying to Dorje Shugden ,their protector to continuosly protect them.

This article is definitely thought provoking. Even though H.H. Dalai Lama has banned the practice of Dorje Shugden on the pretext of the protector being of a worldly nature rather than an enlightened being, the practice or propitiation of other worldly deities - the most notable being Nechung Pehar a WORLDLY DIETY of Persian origin - is approached for advice by the Dalai Lama himself. I have heard it said that Pehar will eventually become enlightened but as far as all the masters, despite their stance on the practice of Dorje Shugden have mentioned, he is currently still an unenlightened protector.

The ban on the practice is totally unjustified according to the reasons given by the Dalai Lama and the authorities, as the great Dorje Shugden is 100% a wrathful manifestation of Manjushri. What is amazing to me is that those who impose the ban have such control over the masses. These masses ordained or lay, though considering themselves Buddhist are not following the advice of the Buddha, who taught thorough investigation into the teachings and practices.

Taking refuge in the Three Jewels is the foundational stone of being a Buddhist, so we should not take refuge in anything else. Worldly deities can be beneficial in my opinion to aid practitioners, however one should not take refuge in them. In my opinion propitiating worldly deities is acceptable in as much that you are under the guidance of a qualified Guru, received the appropriate instructions and are within the mandala of your Guru so that you cannot be harmed if the worldly deity turns on you. And trust me, they can do sometimes. If they are not enlightened they still have emotions, when they have emotions they can turn on you when they are not happy.

But enlightened beings have manifested as protectors to aid us, so why not propitiate them instead? Enlightened beings do not have emotions as we think about them - as opposed to worldly deities - they are driven by the sole compassionate goal of wanting and helping others to achieve the same state as themselves. Surely it makes more sense as they are also objects of Refuge.

So why is this still done, why is it alright not to obey the Dalai Lama who has asked for worship of worldly deities to be stopped, a reason for the ban on Dorje Shugden? I believe that the masters still propitiating worldly deities, blatantly contradicting the Dalai Lama and he himself know that this being a reason for the ban on Dorje Shugden is unfounded. Great masters can surely control worldly deities as they have reached higher levels of attainments and even being fully enlightened beings. So why is this an excuse for the ban on Dorje Shugden. Well.... that’s another barrel not yet off the boat for me.
