I personally object to state getting involved in religious affairs. It is my believe, and through records in history, that government and religion should always be separate. However, when I read this article, I cannot help but bend my objection slightly. In Chatreng and other places in China as mentioned, I am actually delighted that the Chinese government is financially supporting Shugden practitioners and their monasteries. Plus, offering Shugden followers government positions. It feels good that in China, Shugden practitioners are safe. However, the intention behind the China government's funding is definitely not holy per se. Then does it really matter, the result is that Shugden practitioners have financial support to continue their rightful practice without fear of discrimination and segregation. And if Chinese practice, I am sure the CTA cannot do anything! with China's population potentially adopting Dorje Shugden would mean so many lives touched by his miraculous power.
