So, they are just doing that by trying to feed misinformation to the youngsters. But, they forgot about the modern internet. They may be able to fool some of them some of the time but not all of hem all the time. They younger generation may just go to the internet to find the real meaning of democracy and what it stands for. When that happens, the backlash will be something to observe. We as a DS practitioner will have to do our best to lift the ban to help in whatever way. So let's not mistake critical thinking for criticism; and also the Buddha taught us to look into things for ourselves, so why one earth would we listen to a bunch of guys from Tibet who are oppressed and scared to talk rather than follow what Buddha said and look into it. And if we see a lot of people being mislead by him, then it is bodhisattva activity to say something in an upfront and direct way. Eli,

Certainly not an ordinary monk, an extraordinary one. We westerners are one of the most critical and judgmental people on this planet, very little escapes our scrutiny, I doubt if the Dalai Lama tried to fake or put a veil in front of him many of his students would have left him. How many spiritual masters can command a 70k or more crowd. And people who follow the Dalai Lama, they do find peace and spiritual atttiainments through his teachings. Perhaps it is time Tibetan cause should be taken up by a new political party, one that is willing to talk with the Chinese openly and honestly and one that pro Dorje Shugden. CTA leads its people to nowhere at all. Sad but true. It is a dead end and their golden goose the HHDL is getting bad rep 24x7. The Chinese won't let them have democracy, the Dalai Lama only pretends he gave them democracy, and is abusing his power in trying to segregate Shugden practitioners. He has committed human rights violations, he talks to people to segregate Shugden people, but when questioned why he won't give us religious freedom, he responds that it is because we are not a religion. Ah, well that is exactly the sort of thing the west has already worked out; for instance, if we look at the Constitution of the U.S., we have freedom to worship freely, but you know, some people think Buddhism is a false religion, some people might say anything is not a religion, he doesn't get to decide. Also, we know he can't believe what he is saying, but just wants power, or why would the Gelugpa leaders all have done this practice. He wants to be the most powerful guy, which is really problematic in a democracy, which is obviously something he has never cared about at all. I wish Tibetans could have democracy.
