No receiver no giver no merit. Merit to giver when receiver exist. Hence, always be appreciative of receiver who generates the merit of giving.

When we giving actually we are creating the cause to receive. Giving is a generous ability. We always can give not only in term of money. We can give in term of friendship like care to others, listen to others, willing to share with others. We need to practice the ability of giving until the state of selfless. Love without condition is selfless. We are compassion if reach to that state.

"Wisdom teaches us that there is no giving without receiving."

I am trying to understand this and I hope my understanding is correct. Not wanting to receive is a form of selfishness because receiving allows the action of gifting which generates good merits for another. Hence, by not wanting to receive, one is not giving.
