When the Ban was imposed on Dorje Shugden practice the monks were separated into two Monastery called Shar Ganden and Ganden Shartze. The Dorje Shugden practitioners is in Shar Gaden and the non Dorje Shugden practitioners stays in Ganden Shartze Monastery. Before the Ban Ganden Shartze Monastery's Abbot was Khensur Rinpoche Jampa Yeshe. In the early days the monks work very hard to set up the Settlement and Monastery. These houses the monks and lay Refugees. Many pioneer monks may have even passed away.
