But then again, it might have been through your own karma that you met up with your lama. That good karma would have gone to nought had you not heeded your lama's advice to add Dorje Shugden prayers into your retreat. The connection might have been made in a previous life but you did pick it up and continued with the practice and gained the merits to receive Dorje Shugden's assistance.
