I have been able to let go of my desire for material possessions, and other worldly concerns. I have become more peaceful and happy, and less critical of others.

My relationships with family members and colleagues have improved. You can say that I don’t have enemies anymore. Even the colleagues who used to criticize me have become very respectful and nice.

The job I had then was heading nowhere and every day felt like a draining day of cyclic existence that was repetitive and robotic. There was no purpose in life and I felt most alone with no one to turn to or trust.

At that time, I was told by my Guru to pray and rely on Dorje Shugden. There have since been many little incidences where I have felt like I was being helped by the Protectors: from car accidents, to finances, career choices, even relationships. The Protectors seem to help when you need them the most.

There have been many cases where I thought I was finished! I’d hit a dead end! Then, always, something would seem to just manifest to help me at that moment so that I could continue doing my Dharma work without too many worries and difficulties.

The most memorable experience I had was avoiding a potentially fatal car accident. I was driving towards my sister’s home when suddenly, my car lost control. It spun 180 degrees and ended up facing the opposite direction of the oncoming traffic. I looked around and realized I was very, very lucky not to have hit other cars or have other vehicles smash into me; there was not a single car in sight on the highway where I was at the time.

Dorje Shugden is certainly no ordinary Protector but an Enlightened one. Sometimes, whatever you wish for may not come out the way you expect because the Buddhas know what is best for each of us. Dorje Shugden is after all Manjushri. My story is not of something miraculous, magical nor of one huge event that changed my life drastically overnight. Instead, it has been the little things that I have noticed, when you are most down or at a dead end.

The most direct benefit I have experienced is that whenever there is anything to do with Dharma, I always have the good fortune to be able to attend the event or activity, be present for a teaching and be close to the Lama, which I feel is the greatest blessing of all.

Yes, I was guilty of that and more! I will be the first to admit I was a social butterfly, a bee even, busy collecting nectar and invariably collecting pollen too. With my limited knowledge of the Dharma now, I equate nectar to good merits and pollen to be negative karma. And boy did I accumulate more pollen then nectar without truly realising this!

The reason I am sharing this is to put into perspective what has transpired over the last 8 months for me. I ‘tripped’ over Buddhism some time back but it hardly left a ‘bruise’. This time, I stumbled upon it in a big way and I must say it has left quite a scar. I’m not equating what I am learning as a negative imprint but a positive one. What I mean is that this ‘scar’ now permanently reminds me of an important turning point in my life.

Looking back now, I think it all started exactly eight years, six months and 13 days from today, as I write this. It was when I met the love of my life, a love at first sight! It is this same person that led me to the Dharma and I believe this is not the first time he is doing this! Perhaps I was fortunate enough to accumulate enough merits to be given another chance? If so, I best not blow this one!

It is through this Dharma path I am now on that I have ‘chanced’ upon Protector practice. I am still very much a fly on the wall in the grand scheme of things. However, I am absorbing and learning a lot being this fortunate insect with a poor excuse for a brain. Even if I do not have a first hand experience to share, I can see the impact it has on the life of my partner and the people around us.

Our business went through a 180 degree turn for the worse at the height of the financial crisis back in October/November 2008 and we were both extremely close to throwing in the towel. But I know now, through the Dharma and inevitably because of Protector practice, we are still afloat and we do see some land ahead. In fact, in hindsight, where we are in our business is so much healthier for us now. Living out of a suitcase and jet setting around the world for work was not a life. How we delude ourselves into thinking we are happy!

We are both much calmer individuals now. We have both grown in our relationship. We are both enriching our lives in ways we never thought we would even have the chance to. Overall, I know we are being ‘looked’ after and that I am blessed to be able to have the opportunity to practice in this lifetime and wish I may continue to do so in lifetimes to come.

We go through so much hell, finding and maintaining our relationships. I went through a divorce several years back. He was my first true love or so it seemed. One day I caught him cheating on me and I just kind of spiraled down. I turned to drinking and in my drunken stupor I slit my wrist, my brothers discovered me in time to send me to the hospital. I still did not remember that incident well but when I came out from the hospital I realized there was something really wrong with my life.

I knew I needed to seek for help, I went to every temple, church, synagogue looking for how to find some answers to resolution to my unhappiness. I chanted every mantra, prayer I could get my hands on, still nothing offered any respite until I chanted ‘OM BENZA WIKI VITRANA SOHA’. My mind just became quiet all of the sudden, all the anguish was sucked away. That was a turning point for me, as it allowed me to have a safe haven everytime my mind became too heavy and convoluted with too much thinking. The divorce still went through but I was able to carry on life and function normally and even look forward to a better future. Thank you Dharmapala.

I am writing to tell you how beneficial the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden practice is. For the past 10 months I have been reciting Dorje Shugden’s daily prayers as recommended by a friend who has been doing it for years. He told me that his business has prospered greatly since he started this practice and I have seen it for myself.

I operate a fashion boutique in a shopping mall for nearly 2 years and business has been surviving. I either lose money or only break even most of the month. I was also contemplating closing down my business. That was when I met up with my friend who asked me to sincerely ask for help and protection from Dorje Shudgen.

At that time, I thought that I have nothing to lose and so I trusted my friend and started doing the daily prayers. I also went on to research online to find out more about Dorje Shudgen and it appears that he has helped a lot of people. I went on 100% to believe and prayed to him and he did not disappoint me.

Since then, my business have been going up month by month since the time I started believing my protector. For the first time this year my business will be in the black. And now my business partners are willing to put in more capital to expand the business.

I have also noticed that my relationship with my clients and friends have become better and they have recommended more and more people to my boutique. There are also more repeat customers visiting my boutique.

Life could not be better and Dorje Shudgen is truly a protector who is always willing to help those who believe. I truly recommend Dorje Shudgen to anyone as he has definitely helped me and would like many more people to benefit as well.
