When I approached a Dharma friend on what I needed to do to join the Dharma centre full time, she was very supportive. She immediately advised me to start looking for sponsors to support my monthly commitments and expenses, especially as I have a family to care for. To lower oneself in order to beg for sponsorship is not easy. I wondered at the time whether anybody would want to sponsor me. I was a nobody in the centre!

My Dharma friend then advised me to do Protector practice every night. Setting my motivation right, I humbly requested the Protector to help me find the sponsorship and to make everything go smoothly for me to join the Dharma centre as a full-time member of staff. I prayed to him, saying, “If the time is right for me to be able to contribute fully to Dharma to benefit more people, please grant my wish to get sponsors.”

It took me two weeks of determination, perseverance and effort to find more than half the sponsorship I required. It was quite difficult asking people for sponsorship in the beginning but things became better. Even though I was turned down a few times, I was not angry or disappointed; instead, it gave me the strength to keep on trying. I knew that the Protector was helping me to make things go smoothly.

I quickly began to feel the direct impact of the practice. I know now that if we have the right motivation, the Protector will be there for us. In my case, I needed the financial support to be able to do more Dharma work to benefit and help more people. Everything moved very fast; even I couldn’t believe it. With the help of the Protector, I finally managed to raise all the sponsorship I needed to join the centre and do Dharma work full-time. It was very meaningful for me and it increased my confidence to know that the Protector “agreed” that this was the right time for me to go further in my practice.

Now, with the kindness of my Guru who has given me this practice to pacify my obstacles, the kindness of the sponsors and the understanding and endless support from my wife, I have no reason not to go all the way in my Dharma practice. May I keep moving forward in bringing my Guru’s teachings to the world to benefit more people.

The next year, we were called again by this assistant who told us that our Lama wished to meet up with both of us and another close friend of ours. The three of us met our Lama that evening and he surprised us by giving us a Dorje Shugden’s statue. It also happened to be my husband’s birthday that day. That was the first time we saw Lord Dorje Shugden’s image.

Our Lama told us, “Keep him close to you, and he will be with you and your family. You will be alright financially and spiritually.” I felt immediately that I liked him very much and that he was very handsome!

Two years later, in 2005 I lost my lovely mother. My mother was introduced to Lord Dorje Shugden by my husband and I, and had seen the changes in both of us. She had very strong faith and would talk and pray to Dorje Shugden everyday without fail, right after brushing her teeth. She also had a lot of faith in our Lama. When she passed away, it was without pain and very peacefully. My Lama told me then that Dorje Shugden had taken my mother for a good rebirth as a human, in a very pleasant place and in a healthy body, where she will continue to practice the Dharma. I was very pleased to hear that.

My wish is to spread Lord Dorje Shugden’s doctrine to the world. May everyone come to know and do his practice. He will save you.

I’m going to try and keep this short – I just wanted to thank you and your government for banning Dorje Shugden. I know it sounds weird but because your government made such a big deal out of the whole thing, it pushed me to contemplate on my dharma practice and the meaning of guru devotion.

To be frank I am scared of losing my lama and according to the teachings, the only way for me to stay connected with my lama is to keep my commitments and create the causes for him to remain. My lama’s been extremely kind to me and his advice has benefited my entire family – from my children’s education, to my divorce from an abusive husband, to helping me get back on my feet after I left. It was because of him I received the practice, and it was this practice that saved my family so many times.

Without Dorje Shugden’s blessings, I don’t think I could have gone back to college, finished and got a degree and a good job so I can provide for my kids. I tell you, the number of times I thought I could not pay my children’s school fees, or my own school fees, or even buy school uniforms of them… incredible how many times Dorje Shugden pulled through when I sincerely asked him for help. For all the benefit I received, now I really want to hold my commitment and not break my samaya. I guess your actions did the same for many devotees around the world

So because of you, and through the kindness of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, I have been driven to become more committed to my spiritual path and practice Dorje Shugden with greater diligence than before.
