However, what the proponent of Dorje Shugden ban often failed to mention is the fact the 5th Dalai Lama changed his mind about Dorje Shugden and even installed him as a protector. He event went as far as making a statue of Dorje Shugden. I think this story is very important because it shows that one of the basis of the ban does not hold water. and the other basis which is practicing Dorje Shugden harms the Dalai Lama's life has been denied by the Dalai Lama himself.
