Ooooo... saucy! So, what does Amnesty International have to say to that?

In 1998, Amnesty declined to undertake an in-depth investigation into abuses alleged to have occurred in Tibetan settlements in India, noting that: “None of the material AI has received contains evidence of abuses which fall within AI’s mandate for action — such as grave violations of fundamental human rights including torture, the death penalty, extra-judicial executions, arbitrary detention or imprisonment, or unfair trials.”

So, someone has to sacrifice his/her life before Amnesty International can come in? NOw, I know why those sad people are self-immolating. Actually, this sounds like a school not facing up to the bullying that's happening in their school because the bullies were not caught red-handed or that the kids that were bullied were too scared to call out the bullies.Hmm... looks like they have not outgrown the classroom.

Ah Ha! Finally a press that have not influence by the "star" effect have dare to tell the world what is going on.

Many of the press have ignored what have happened to the Tibetan refugees in Dharamshala, particulary to the ban of Dorje Shugden. In Dharamshala, the signage of Dorje Shugden's ban could put up in obvious place and non of the westerner can see ? The only reasons i can say is, they are influence by "some one" to suppress this illogical ban which seriously violet the human rights.

It is sad that such a huge organization like Amnesty that does so much to liberate people all over the world from human rights issues does not update their mandate in order to address a wider scope of human rights issues like the Dorje Shugden ban. There seems to be the usual sinister possibility of political ambition that is built into the Shugden issue because it involves the US and China on a macro view.

When it comes to the US and China, it has been decades of rivalry that began with China's meteoric rise on the world stage as an economic powerhouse. The US' official problem with China is a litany of humans rights abuses committed in the name of quelling Tibetan resistance. The US have long funded the Tibetan exiled political entity within India in order to be a thorn on the side of China.

Amnesty is very quick to pick up on human rights abuses in China concerning Tibetans but not with abuses within the Tibetan exiled community in India. The contradiction is very apparent and they are not recognizing this contradiction and amending its charter. That smells of political intervention. Its for you to put one and one together to get two.

@Big Uncle, it is more than political intervention. If you take a look at the map of US bases in and around Asia, you can see that they have surrounded China, ready to strike. They see China as a threat. Therefore, they will stoop so very low and use the Tibetans against China. The Tibetans have become pawns in American politics and defense or offence as you see it. The Tibetans are being used to destabilize the region. Sad.
