Occasionally we hear of such 'monk-eying' news and the Buddhist world is in a state of shock. When one takes ordination with wrong motivation, the chances of straying away from the precepts is higher.

Drinking alcohol or any fermented and distilled liquors which are intoxicants is frowned upon and violates the Fifth precept.  In countries where Theravada Buddhism dominates, like Cambodia, the monastic sangha often calls for bars and liquor stores to be closed on major uposatha days(days marked by full and new moons, and they are observed with intensive practice). These two Cambodian monks must have slept through during their ordination ceremony!
