wow! her voice is really stunning!! I have heard some said that we should not sing the chanting, but I feel it is OK, and I like it that is another way to draw people to understand Buddhism. Just like nice drawings of Buddha will attract people to Buddhism.

There are quite a few hong kong singers who have sung or chanted mantras which are absolutely stunning. Hope that Ani Choying Drolma will have more albums and "songs"!!

Great Compassion is the path of the Mahayana and without Great Compassion one cannot become a fully enlightened Buddha. Chanting the Great Compassion mantra with at least contrived mind to boddhicitta, once create the cause via the generation or the positive force of merits to connect with all sentient beings in a positive manner and since this is way and qualities of the Buddhas we similarly generate the cause to become a Buddha. It is said only through great compassion can one become a Buddha. There is no other way.

Ani Choying Drolma's singing is well known and highly respected by sangha and the lay. Her melodious voice must be gifted from past lives of devoting "speech" to benefit others. Chanting mantras does not equate to just "singing" for the sake of singing with a good voice. Her voice is powerful, strong, melodious with soothing sound, just like singing birds in the nature. Her voice penetrates the mind and affect our consciousness. Her motivation shines through her voice. That's why we continue to be inspired by her skill.
