May the beings of this world have the collective merit for the lineage of the Shamarpa to return soon. The masters chooses the time to leave and the time to return on the basis of what is best for beings especially those with high affinity and in dependent on the most beneficial possible results. Unfortunately, since the time of the Buddha, most beings did not have enough merits or affinity to meet with the Buddhadharma and the masters. I pray that we join the ranks of the masters who are Buddhas in human form to alleviate the sufferings of the world.

Despite the Nepal Government's decision not to give permission for the last rites to 14th Shamarpa to be conducted in Nepal, preparations for the crematorium have been made as reported:

Monks prepare for the last rites of Shamarpa

The Statesman 20 Jul 2014

One banner on the arch at the main entrance to Sharminub Foundation, established by the late Shamarpa Mipham Chokyi Lodro, reads: “Hearty welcome to our distinguished delegates, guests and participants for chanting prayers and the sacred fire-ritual ceremony of Kunsing Shamar Rinpoche.”
Tents have been erected with the facilities of toilets, kitchens and other logistics arranged for visitors for the big gathering.

Atop the main building of the monastery, where hundreds of Buddhist monks are busy offering prayers to the departed soul, is a crematorium ready for the last rites of the 14th Shamarpa, whose body is supposed to be flown here from New Delhi on Monday, according to media reports here.

The preparations were made despite the Nepal government's decision not to give permission for performing last rites to the Rinpoche.
“We have made all the preparations as per the wishes of our guru to have his last rites performed in the gumba he built.

Government backtracks, allows cremation of late Rinpoche in Nepal

Gunaraj Luitel Kathmandu, July 28

Finally, the government has given permission for holding the last rites of late Shamarpa Rinpoche in the country.

Earlier, the government had stated that it can’t give permission for the cremation of a foreign national in Nepal. Guru Shamar Rinpoche, 62, died of a heart attack in Germany on June 11.
"The body will be brought to Kathmandu tomorrow," said Dr Ramesh Dhungel, one of the activisits demanding that the government allow the Buddhists to perform his last rites in Nepal. The government feared that the event may trigger anti-China demonstrations in Nepal. "All the required documents are being prepared to allow his followers to bring the body to Kudung," he said.

Deputy Prime Minister Bamdev Gautam in his capacity of home minister declined to let the followers of the late Rinpoche to bring his body to Nepal. The Rinpoche's followers and activisits had requested Prime Minister Sushil Koirala to reverse the government's earlier decision.

Then, PM Koirala directed the authorities to let the Buddhists perform his last rites in Nepal.
"We are yet to take a formal decision," said a senior government official. Government officials have prepared a proposal in this regard, which will be tabled in the cabinet meeting Tuesday morning.
"The proposal will be tabled in the cabinet meeting on Tuesday morning," said an activist. "There are preparations at Raniban for the after-death rituals of the guru."

It was stated that the government declined to allow the last rites of the Rinpoche in Nepal under pressure from China.  But, China was silent on the issue saying it was an internal issue of Nepal.
His body had been taken to Kalingpong following the refual of Nepal government to permit his last rites in Nepal.

Written by a student of 14th Shamarpa ,Mipham Choki Lodro who passed away:

Shamar Rinpoche worked in many ways :often travelling the world by himself, floating under the radar, other times bringing storms( literally and metaphorically in his wake.
His method's varied depending on context, often leaving his students momentarily off balance, but always on stronger footing.Yet his message never wavered,we are all capable of experiencing the true nature of our minds in any place,in anytime be it in mountain hermitage or a cocktail lounge. His wisdom, directness and compassion will be missed. As a teacher,he has left with everything that need to achieve awakening.
With the blessings and support of Kamarpa Tharye Dorje, his legacy and vision will continue to blossom in Bodhi Path centers throughout the world.

I am not sure of the politics involved; I know that much of the Nepalese royal family was killed in summer 2001, and Shamar Rinpoche has always had close ties with the Nepalese, including the part of the family that was murdered.  I am really rejoicing that Nepal allowed him to be cremated there, because of his strong karmic connection with the people of Nepal; when he would give Amitayus empowerment, there would be so many people, that the Nepalese would eventually block the road.... Shamarpa chenno and please come back soon.
