Who’s the hypocrite?
« on: June 07, 2014, 08:54:27 AM »
Reading this article it brings up a few points to note
http://www.dorjeshugden.com/all-articles/the-controversy/whos-the-hypocrite/

We always say down with the ban, for it harms and ultimately bears no fruit for all parties concerned. There is no step towards Tibetan Freedom, no any betterment of relationship between China and CTA, not better communication towards autonomy for Tibet the past 20 years. ON top of that most of  Tibetan diaspora they not getting better in temperament or achievement. There is no real evidence to suggest that CTA's policies have yielded any fruit. CTA has to do the opposite of whats its doing now, as it is not bearing any result. Despite having a swanky Harvard alumni holding the reins of power.

The situation for CTA and Tibetans is even worst now than prior to the ban. Prior to the ban, the Tibetans are truly a sad case, then this phenomenon of banning Dorje Shugden and harming the practitioners is all over the front news. As more and more people are aware of the oppression that is happening to the practitioners what world citizen will not want to support the CTA and their causes. Having the Dorje Shugden ban is shooting themselves in the feet. Enforcing the ban and giving problems to Dorje Shudgen lamas, practitioners is making CTA look worst than it already is. CTA already has no chip  to bargain with China. Immolations yes it was quite a sensation when it started, how much blood does the CTA expect to be shed when they offer no result or headway for the Tibetan situation. Enforcing the ban is a dead end for Tibetan politics and spell a death of any chance of Tibetan freedom/autonomy. Surely we don't need a Harvard alumni to shed light over the ban issue?

Its time local tibetans who genuinely care about their freedom and their country, to do the unthinkable. perhaps CTA policies is not beneficial after all. Thats critical thinking.

Quote from the articles
Code: [Select]
It is therefore downright embarrassing for the Tibetan leadership to teach the Chinese leaders how to “gain the trust and respect of the rest of the world”. Where the Chinese have moved on economically and politically since the 1950s, the Tibetans have regressed. Today, the Chinese sit on the Security Council of the United Nations, while Tibetans have failed to initiate any kind of fruitful dialogue with their so-called occupiers. Where the Chinese produce thinkers, scientists, authors and artists of global renown, the Tibetans are still guests under the continuing kindness of the Indian government, fixated on their goal of freedom which seems more distant than ever before. Where the Chinese leaders stand proudly next to leaders of the free world, the Tibetan leaders are ushered out of the back doors of official residences.

It would seem that the Tibetan leadership is intent on remaining blind to the realities of the world today. As the old adage goes, ignorance is bliss and perhaps denial is the Tibetan leadership’s coping mechanism for dealing with their failure in gaining independence for their people.

In the letter, they called the Chinese brother and sister, this mean, they have agreed that Tibet is part of China now!

To request freedom and CTA yourself is acting on violation towards human rights i felt they can be the laughing stock for the whole world. Instead of free Tibet, they focus on the ban. This truly show that they are only capable of bullying their own people.

It actually hurts me to see the Dalai Lama had to leave the White House through the back door with a pile of rubbish. But this the reality of the situation of the Tibetan administration in exile have put themselves into. No matter how famous and well known the Dalai Lama is in the world, he is only a pawn used by United States to check and irk the emerging super power, China.

If the intention of Tibetan administration is for autonomy rule of Tibet, they had better focus on the issue before it is too late. That is before the Dalai Lama enters clear light. China has voiced she will not entertain Dr Lobsang Sangay the so called Mr Prime Minister for any negotiations. Hence under this circumstance, the Central Administration of Tibet will rot with time and will reduce to rotten eggs that will not serve any purpose to the Great Wall. Therefore, with the damaging Shugden ban that is destroying peace, harmony, unity, respect, honor, dignity and integrity of the Tibetan leadership has to be stopped. They should now restore the damages in their society and walk tall with what the Dalai Lama is advocating around the world instead of being a hypocrite that is truly detrimental.

Dharma Space, I agree with your statement that the CTA enforcing a ban on Dorje Shugden is killing any chance of freedom for Tibetans. True, China did suppressed, discriminated, and humiliated their citizens many , many years ago. And she got her share of criticism from the rest of the world. After that, China did open up to spiritual practices and does not impose her stance on which religion/deities to practice or stay away from.
So if China were to grant independence to Tibet (ruled by the CTA) it would be equivalent to slapping her own face. Until the ostracizing and discrimination to the Shugdenpas is stopped, there is really no point in CTA seeking the cherished independence.

Agreed to all the statements on this post. From the way things stand at the moment with the CTA's stance on the practice of the holy Protector Dorje Shugden, it seems backwards and even somewhat regressive if Tibet was to gain independence from China as this draconian ban would be imposed throughout the whole of Tibet. Whatever is said about the CURRENT Chinese occupation of Tibet, they have allowed freedom of worship (as much as you would expect from a communist government in any case), not something that the CTA seem to understand or keen on implementing.

Local Tibetans have to make a stand against the CTA on DS ban. Not just the DS ban but it's time Tibetans make a change to CTA and how the administration is run. The current CTA is obviously incompetent and their handling of DS issues are a testimony to this fact. China in comparison may actually be a much more better option in running Tibet as a country than CTA. HHTDL should remain just a spiritual figure and not be involved in politics.

Tibetans should not just be focussing on DS ban and overall on changing the administrative policies and governing methods of CTA. Maybe it's time Tibetans make a change in CTA and from this change, changes the handling of DS ban.

The CTA crave the freedom that they want, but in return, do not give the same to those they owe it to - their people. Claiming that practising Dorje Shugden is detriment to the Tibetan cause of gaining freedom is simply hilarious -  how can propitiating an enlightened being dampen their cause to gaining freedom? Anyways what is the correlation between Tibetan independence and a Buddhist practise to gaining enlightenment? It's so farfetched, that a Buddhist practise can hinder the exile community's fight for independence.

Great article to highlight the hypocrisy between the words and actions of the CTA and His Holiness. China has progressed by leaps and bounds since the 1989 protest..and the Tibetans has been protesting for their free Tibet rights with self immolations etc, but where has it brought them, with a government that doesn't care for all?

The ban and the result of the ban is the single biggest obstacles to achieving any kind of Tibetan autonomy with China. This because, the ban is an act of hypocrisy, contradiction to religious values and stupidity. Sorry. The Chinese now view the CTA a joke and not qualify to administer Tibet for the Chinese has done afar better job in developing China, a country far bigger than Tibet in geographical size and population in the last 25 years then the CTA in the last 50 years. The ban has set Tibetan back another 100 years in civility. Why would the Chinese and the world trust the Dalai Lama and the CTA?
Just this one reason alone, Tibet is a lost cause for the CTA.
