lol... This video is funny and the teachings are simple yet profound. What is happiness to us? Chasing everything that we think will make us happy or benefitting people we come across? Interesting...
"Same body, new person" says HHDL... Indeed, mind transformation is very important for us to be a better person.

Btw, many of us will us be very happy when the ban is lifted! Remember HHDL, benefitting other people....

Funny video. HHDL always have appropriate  humour in appropriate functions or events. I rejoice for Him to bring Dharma to wherever he goes.

In this short clip, it goes to show that HHDL has a funny side to Him. See how easily he switches from his teachings to mention something as common as bodily gas. And I think he looks cool with his sun visor.

The Dalai Lama indeed uses a lot of humour in his teachings. It is a very skillful way to "buy" into one's heart and hopefully eventually the soul ! Many great Buddhists masters use this skill . I for one would definitely love to attend teachings which are deeply profound but yet conveyed in the lightest and fun way as oppose to a strict and boring manner. Such skills are hard to develop. To strike the right balance and keep your audience listening to you is not an easy tasks. The most important element is for the Dharma to be implanted in the listener's mind.

His Holiness Dalai Lama is a great Buddhist teacher that draws many to his teachings. HHDL remains the most important and influential Buddhist leader who had brought Tibetan Buddhism to the West and around the World in the past decades until today. No other Buddhist leader had accomplished as much as HHDL.

However all these milestones and efforts are fast forgotten and disregarded since HHDL enforced the ban on Dorje Shugden. Millions of people had suffered and are protesting against this unjust ban. HHDL meets protests after protests wherever He goes.

If HHDL did not mind damaging himself (because He is Buddha Chenrezig), please HHDL, please spare the ordinary and pitiful sentient beings who had been and are suffering from the effects of the ban on Dorje Shugden.

Please lift the ban for our sake now!

The Dalai Lama is a truly Highly Attained Master and as Cherezig himself. Love all HH's works all through his lifetimes but what really baffles me is the delay of uplifting the ban on religious freedom or starting of the banning in the first place.

This is the funny side of the Dalai Lama who is so respected also a truly Attained High Lama.
To be happy means to have peace of mind and warm heartedness.
Similar to Karma. If we do wrong things we get negative results. If we do good  things we get fulfilment and happiness.
Therefore from today onwards, make a pledge to be a new person. Make someone happy.
Maybe the Dalai Lama will make many people very happy if the ban on DS is lifted. Then we can really rejoice!

LoL!  ;D In short 8 minutes HH has teaches us about how our mind get more clouded from the wrong objects that we perceive as source of our happiness such as worldly pleasure, fame, entertainments and etc and pointed to the true source of happiness; cultivating of inner strength through practicing virtue. The common basis between us and holy beings are our human body and we all fart!
May HHDL have long life and in good health.

H.H. Dalai Lama always has a sense of humour and being in the moment.  He brings his teachings to the ordinary persons in such a way as to be able to reach them at their level. Maybe he can relate to the pain of the practitioners sidelined by the ban

Nice teaching from His Holiness according to the Buddhist principles. Very gentle and peaceful demeanour HH has when giving teaching... but just wondering how HH feels knowing that on one hand he is delivering methods to alleviate ones suffering to a group of people whilst on the other, he is bringing so much suffering to a group of DS practitioners. We are not protesting to hurt His Holiness, but we are protesting for him to not hurt others with this ban, and for him to lift the ban. He is a highly respected religious figure across the world, but there is a group of people that do not have religious freedom because of the ban imposed by His Holiness and the CTA.

I enjoyed watching the video alot, because it really shows the compassion of His Holiness, travelling across the world tirelessly to spread the teachings of Buddha to so many others.

HHDL is a very eloquent and engaging speaker for sure. Infusing funny moments is his profound talk is necessary as it keeps the dialogue alive and audience interested. The Dalai Lama and many great lamas have a wonderful sense of humor. They usually make fun of themselves to lighten the talk so that our minds can absorb the teachings better.

Another great Buddhist teacher is Ajahn Brahm who has a great sense of humor as well. Click here to watch one of his talks.

This is an amusing video clip. His Holiness the Dalai Lama is really witty and always makes the crowd around him at ease. Even in situation of talking about embarrassing moments like farting, HH is able to phrase it in such a humorous manner.
If only His Holiness would be in the same spirit when talking about the Dorje Shugden ban. Why is it so near impossible to have a dialogue between His Holiness and the Shugdenpas?

The Dalai Lama is very profound as he is able to teach with such unusual and somewhat childish humour and can provide such a wonderful insight upon self-satisfaction. May his life be long so many more can learn from his teachings on humility and happiness.
