Thank you again Dorjeshugden.com for yet another important classic of our lineage. Wow, this website never cease to amaze me with continuous surprises after surprises  ;D

Can't wait to read about the life of such a great being who comes from a glorious lineage of great masters, who documented the holy lineage of Dorje Shugden through Music Delighting the Ocean of Protectors, not forgetting the classic Lam Rim text Liberation in the Palm of Your Hand from his notes of teachings from his root Guru, Pabongka Rinpoche.

Woohoo! Thank you again dorjeshugden.com!  ;D

The Autobio is posted as Part 1 and Part 2. So far just part 1 is posted. Part 2 will be done soon.

This website has undertaken the total cost to have it translated and edited at the cost of US$15,000. It was a 3 year project in the making in total.

As there are no English translated biographies of His Holiness Trijang Rinpoche anywhere in the world today so far. We are hoping more comes out. We are hoping this gets published.

This website has unfortunately received some criticism from Dorje Shugden practitioners themselves in the past for our opinions, as well as from non-practitioners, but we are DETERMINED to go all the way to promote Dorje Shugden, a protector who's time has come.
It is important ALL Dorje Shugden practitioners group together as one voice irregardless of our differences in practice/method/opinions. After our objectives are achieved, then we can 'seperate' and re-group into our individual systems, thoughts, centres, methods, and teachers' directions. We are united for now by Dorje Shugden and this undemocratic ban.

We at www.dorjeshugden.com are determined to bring Dorje Shugden's lineage to the world step by step. We will continue to do much more. We have more 'surprises' in the future.

We thank those who have loyally followed this website through thick and thin. It reflects your mind and how stable you are. It reflects your ability to see the much bigger picture beyond your personal likes, dislikes, ego which in itself is the practice. We are grateful for you emotional support and prayers.
If you don't support emotionally and financially, then you must examine what you are doing for the cause. This is not meant as criticism but hopefully self reflection. If you are doing other things, we rejoice, but also rejoice for our effort. For NOW, we are one or should be one.

I totally agree with what you wrote here, Mana.

Tell me, how can I contribute in terms of monetary donations to this website or anything at all?

Because I have indeed received so much from this wonderful sacred space and I deeply value it.

I wish many more will come to learn about this website and especially, learn about how great our Protector is. There is absolutely nothing evil or malicious here.

Please let me or anyone else who is interested to contribute back to the expenses of this website in any way possible to show our heartfelt appreciation.

Again, thank you deeply.

I am a HUGE fan of this website. Some of the views on it does not match with mine. But so what? Where else better than here is there to go to? Why find differences in a few issues, why not find commonality with the huge similarities.

Anyway if I don't like it, I DON'T HAVE TO COME HERE, but where can I go? I am addicted to this site.

I sure can't set up something like this with the time, energy, money, knowledge, research, thousands of hours necessary.

So I am here to stay and my respect for this site grows all the time.

This unbelievable piece of work is going to be a spring in a dry desert. Water for the thirsty. Light for the confused. Refuge for the those lost. Logic in the storm of malicious confusions.

I cannot overstate how much this information on this site will move our Dorje Shugden cause ahead. No centre, no lama, no organization, not even the Dorje Shugden coalition groups has produced such an incredible piece of work made available for the whole world.

We can protest, write letters and beg for something to happen, but with such a definitive work such as this describing the intimate relationship Dorje Shugden has with the most influential Gelug Lama of recent times is beyond doubt or debate. If such a lama of this calibre can rely on Dorje Shugden, THEN HE IS NOT OF AN EVIL ORIGIN FULL STOP.

Even the Tibetan Govt in exile or Dalai Lama would not be able to say anything to His Holiness Trijang Rinpoche's own written autobiography.

It will have impact for many decades to come long after the dissolution of the Tibetan Govt.

We have to get this autobiography translated into many languages and posted. And because you have provided the English translation, it will be possible.

With great respect and folded hands to the team at www.dorjeshugden.com  I thank you tremendously.

May I know the reason behind placing the website address as a watermark on the pages of The Illusory Play?
The Eight Auspicious Objects would seems to be a better choice to me.

In all cases, I like this book and hopes that this website will continue to provide us with such great works.

Personally, I do look forward to seeing autobiographies of all the other Lamrim Lineage Guru here.

No other centre, organization, lama or group in the world has produced this autobio in English. It is just amazing just as TK has said.

All Gelug centres in the world has their roots in Trijang Rinpoche in one way or another, yet no one has studied the life of this great master that has the most singular influence in recent years and till now.

This is just incredible we have this autobiography of Trijang Rinpoche available now!!!

Thank you alot!

Thank you for posting this amazing autobiography! Although it's only part 1! (where's part 2? Pretty please with sugar and spice and all things nice! Talk about a cliff hanger!!!)

By the way, I was talking to a Buddhist group up north yesterday and we were talking about this website and forum and several of the group were talking about what was the agenda of this site. After all, everything in samsara has an agenda - but you know what, we just couldn't figure out an agenda for this site except for the sheer love of Dorje Shugden and that as many people as possible benefit.

There's no one putting their hand up saying they're looking for fame or money. All I know is the enigmatic Admin and that there are several moderators. And you don't charge for anything or ask for donations (which i think you should but anyway)!

This HH Trijang Rinpoche's autobiography was what started the conversation off, because most people would have just published it and it could be a best seller, but here is dorjeshugden.com making it available for FREE. I like what you say here "It is made all free of charge as this website wishes to promote Dorje Shugden’s practice according to the wishes of Kyabje Trijang Dorje Chang and as an offering to all practitioners."

Beautiful!

Just wanted to say I'm very grateful. That's all. May the Holy Lineage Masters and Dorje Shugden's blessings rain on you.

WB, well said! What a wonderful way to express appreciation and recognising the deeds of others.

There has been much speculation as you rightly said of what is the agenda of this website, including a host of many other "unsavoury" allegations.

I noticed that some people pick on the most petty of details and highlighting them like as if they are "mountains" of "assaults or faults". Yet in all this time, they have not once mentioned (let alone, thank or appreciate) the real contributions of this website.

If one is not biased at all, why pick on just the faults and completely neglect to mention the real benefits that one has enjoyed and reaped from this wesbite? Do they not realise how petty they look - especially as they call themselves, Dharma Practitioners?

This website has not asked for anything in return in all this time.

This current release of HH Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche's Bio in English must have taken a lot of time, effort and devotion. As I would imagine the same it took for the first ever illustrated graphic story of Dorje Shugden.

How many can actually say that they have contributed this much in promoting our Protector, and not asking for anything in return?

So, I truly appreciate what this website has done for all of us - especially for those who are really suffering because they choose to practise openly.

As we cannot speak of it or ask openly, real learning would be very challenging for an average person who is interested in Dorje Shugden. Unless one has the great fortune to have a Guru who also teaches and practices Dorje Shugden, of course.

In these times, such Gurus may be more difficult to get access to. If you are really lucky, then you live in the same countries or cities as they do. However, not everyone is that lucky.

Hence, websites such as these and many others which continue to spread and promote our Supreme Dharmapala Dorje Shugden should be applauded.

Here, we have the immense good fortune to even read about H.H Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche's life story, while in Gelug monasteries, they've even removed H.H's name from their prayers.

Here, we continue to learn and nurture the truth about Dorje Shugden so that many others' minds will also begin to see and understand.

So, if we are serious about doing something positive in the name of our Protector - we can share, contribute and put it all out there for all to see and learn. Stop picking on petty little details. Think of benefiting the masses instead.

Whatever TGIE wants to do in the physical world is "controlled" by a number of factors.

Thank goodness for the world wide web - Dorje Shugden truly LIVES ON, AND ON, AND ON and SPREAD like wildfire.

No one can remove Dorje Shugden in the world wide web.

This is something I truly rejoice for and celebrate.

Like WB, I await with much anticipation for the PART TWO of HH Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche's Bio.

May all of Dorje Shugden Lamas, monasteries and students live long and spread HIS practice for a very long time .

Agree with Thai monk. It is another great opportunity for us to check our minds again, are we rejoicing the hard work and dedication of the team who made possible this wonderful biography of Trijang Rinpoche in English so many can read and learn the great deeds of this illustrious master(including myself) or are we just looking for faults?

It is like the DS brochures when it was launched. Some criticised that it looked cheap and some said this or that, wouldn't it be better that  we rejoice the effort and thought of someone who came out with this idea to promote DS practise to benefit others?

We should ALL LEARN TO REJOICE!

Another great lesson here.

WB, very very good point! A well translated English biography of such a great Master is rare and will certainly be a best seller in the market. After investing so much material resources and effort, the team generously offered this precious document to everyone for free. No strings attached. Although this biography is the latest "goodie" from ds.com, we have been consistently receive priceless Dharma gifts on this website in the past year...including the animation story of our Great Protector. This backs up what you and Helena posted about the ds.com team: their sole "agenda" is to benefit others by spreading the Dharma.

As ds.com wants nothing back from us other than to benefit us...all we can do is contribute to this vision and introduce this wonderful website to as many people as possible and contribute as much Dharma value we can through our postings.

In relation to the reading of Trijang Rinpoche's biography, I have had the good fortune to flip through some pages and am astonished by the endless activity in which He engages in to spread the Dharma. Despite the challenges Trijang Rinpoche had to face, He is constantly teaching Dharma, giving initiations etc. There is not a moment in his life that is not dedicated to the Dharma and benefiting others. It is also awesome to learn about all the great Gurus who taught Trijang Rinpoche, which explains for the greatness of this immense Master who is the complete embodiment of so many teachings.

Trijang Rinpoche is an inspiration and His kindness shines through. May we have the merit to cause the manifestation of more biographies of historical Dharma Masters in the near future.

I really love this autobiography. HH Trijang Rinpoche is so attained yet he is so humble.  I'm so glad his Guru, HH Pabongkha Rinpoche and other Lamas told him to write this autobiography! There are so many different aspects to Trijang Rinpoche - I love the stories of him as a boy.

This story on page 31 is so cute : "Between terms and in Lhasa, after morning class, Gän Rinpoche would go for circumambulation on the ling kor.  When I was young it was a chance to play and draw pictures and such.  When Gän Rinpoche was nearly back from his circumambulation, from close by or the table in front of me there would always come a quite loud knocking sound so that if I quickly collected my toys and pretended to be studying my text, I could avoid being scolded by Gän Rinpoche when he returned.  Because this would happen, I could relax and play until the knocking sound occurred.  That one named Gyalchen Dorje has cared for me like a loving mother, countless times, even when I was a child at play. "

And further down the page,

"when I was thirteen and had just received transmission of the Kangyur, I began reading it, starting with the thirteen volumes of Vinaya transmission, and enjoyed this so immensely that I eventually read the entire Kangyur and over half of the Tängyur including sections such as the Collection of Praises and various subjects of Sutra and Tantra.  Apprehensive that I might be scolded by Gän Rinpoche, I would hide half of a volume of scripture in the altar by the head of my bed and when Gän Rinpoche had gone out as well as most every night, after I was finished doing recitation of the scriptures I had memorized and Gän Rinpoche had gone to bed, I would silently read forty or fifty pages of scriptures in bed by the light of a lamp."

I mean, what kid would do that? Most teenagers would be surreptitiously reading novels or playing games... this really shows proof of his Dharma imprints from a past life. For those who don't believe in Tulkus, this precious autobiography should provide evidence that these amazing beings do come back life after life.

I'm sure you're all slowly but surely and happily going through this wonderful tome!

May I please encourage everyone to post your thoughts are you go through the biography and/or come across interesting parts of the biography. It is a very wonderful text to use as a point of discussion: we can learn about a great master ad many aspects of Dorje Shugden as well as study various Dharma teachings all within one text and this is something very special. So let's share it!

A question to get you going: What stands out most for you as you read this biography?

Thanks, Beggar and WB to get things started with this precious Bio questions. I feel like I am in a book club. And that is very beneficial.

By discussing, we get to learn the different points of view and definitely our knowledge and understanding will be enriched when shared.

One of the things that left an impression within me is how much HH Trijang Rinpoche had to go through, even for such a highly attained being. He did not have it easy since day one he was recognised. There were even others who were contesting for his "position" - saying that he is not the real reincarnation.

Throughout the bio, HH Trijang Rinpoche had to struggle to raise funds, even for his Geshe examinations. But never once, did HH Trijang Rinpoche complained or give up. In fact, he always said that it was his karma from previous lives and endured through it all.

There is really a wealth of information and teaching in this priceless bio.

Perhaps this is why they say that the most important thing about a saint, mahashidda, etc - is that THEY LIVED!

Their life stories are not only inspiring but it is a reminder that greatness can be achieved when we follow the path well.

This is one Bio I have to read again and again to understand much deeper. It is such a joy and priviledge to be able to have this bio in the first place!

Hi Helena, you are right! The sharing of different points of view from reading this super piece of work is like a book club. Amazing what ds.com has become, can become and will keep on becoming :)

The deepest impression I have at the top of my head is the "politics" that went on in Chatreng. Trijang Rinpoche had to bear so much "nonsense" but His compassion for those who caused Him harm intentionally remained stable. Additionally, despite the continuous effort to defame Trijang Rinpoche, H.H's authenticity and His intention to constantly benefit all sentient beings proved the test of time. Lastly and frighteningly, all those who conspired to cause harm to Trijang Rinpoche suffered the consequence of their intention.

First lesson received from this part of H.H's biography is: the good will always prevail. Should we stay pure in our Dharma practice, we will always rise from our obstacles like the phoenix rises from its ash.

Second lesson learned is: our karma will always "get us" at the end of the day.

Lastly, this section of Trijang Rinpoche's biography reminds me of the story of Dorje Shugden during this degenerate age: The defamation that our powerful Protector is not enlightened, the conspiracy to ban His practice etc. is similar to the problems Trijang Rinpoche. I interpret this as how samsara is just a vicious cycle of repeated suffering caused by the same seeds of ignorance, self-cherishing and hatred (jealousy).

So, as Trijang Rinpoche's compassion, wisdom and intention shone through, may Dorje Shugden and all His practitioners withstand this period of trial and be ready to rise like the phoenix and spread the practice of our Protector in all ten directions when the time comes.

Personally, I very much appreciated that extra effort the admin put into posting the autobiography. I must admit that I scanned the document very eagerly - looking for mention of our great Protector, so the red highlighted text was very helpful! Not that the Protector was all that i was interested in because i loved the autobiography as a whole..

Thank you.

Even a high lama like Trijang Rinpoche has to endure so much nonsense and obstacles in his life, then what are we to complain about our little pathetic problems in our lives?

Every stage and aspect of his life is a true living example of the six parameters, like Helena said, high lamas like Trijang Rinpoche "LIVED" their lives, they are TRUE LIVING BUDDHAS who lived their lives to show us the right path, even on a microscopic level as to what are the right attitudes to have in order to deal with our own self created obstacles and problems.

I would read Trijang Rinpoche's biography a few pages everyday like a sadhana.

Like WB, I truly appreciate the RED highlights because I too am eager to be on the look out for our Protector's name to be mentioned - especially in the crucial events of history.

In Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche's Bio, it confirms a few things such as Rinpoche seeking the Protector for advice on whether His Holiness should Tibet or not, and how to go about the escape route.

Throughout the Bio, I found that the Protector has been watching all the high lamas since day one - just as Trijang Rinpoche himself had commented and observed.

I sincerely appreciate all the effort made into making this bio available - even to the point of highlighting certain paragraphs about the Protector in red. To me, that shows how much care and effort that the team responsible for this, took to deliver such an important and valuable piece of work to the rest of us.

Why can't people just appreciate and rejoice for a change?

Have put some links in to the bio at freesangha  :)

Zach - thanks man! Keep the good effort going.

Great to hear how much everyone is enjoying the biography - I have been too! It's fascinating to see just how much one teacher could accomplish. Imagine if he had just, like so many of us, said he wanted to go get a normal job (be a "career man"), get married, have a family....  the whole spiritual lineage that followed from him would be non-existent and we probably wouldn't even be here on this forum. Almost all our teachers, at one point or another, would be connected to his teachings and lineage.

Amazing to contemplate the profound impact that one person can have.... and what's more inspiring is that he shows us that if we put our sincerest effort in, we can accomplish just the same too. Might take a little longer perhaps (!) but it is definitely achievable.

Yes, all it takes is one great selfless highly accomplished Lama to make a lasting impact to an entire generation of Tibetan Buddhist and possibly, beyond.

One single person can make such a difference. This is what I love about reading HH Trijang Rinpcohe's bio - this great master inspires me with every page and gives me hope that every single human being can make a real contribution to tier people, community or an entire generation by just living his life authentically - never wavering from his highest purpose, always upholding Dharma by living it out for all to see.

How fortunate we are to even be touched/blessed by HH Trijang Rinpoche in one way or another.

I sure hope the rest of this sacred autobiography will be put up soon by dorjeshugden.com. I excitedly await. I appreciate the tremendous efforts and expenses footed by this website for all of our benefit. So incredibly generous and also it really shows the motivation of the webmaster and team. You guys are just out to bring Dorje Shugden to the world. No agendas, no fame wanted and no politics. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

It is such an enlightening read and it really counters so much that the Tibetan Govt has said.

After all, if Trijang Rinpoche is wrong or a liar, then the many lineages he passed to Dalai Lama are wrong. So Dalai Lama will have to stop teaching many of what he has been teaching. Of course Trijang Rinpoche is NOT WRONG IN ANY WAY.

I agree and echo your thoughts, Thai Monk!

We work hard to counter and prove how wrong "they" are without disparaging anyone or saying anything that will create any bad karma for ourselves.

The time of Dorje Shugden is upon us!

an idea to share:

What I've found quite useful among my own Dharma friends is to do mini book readings together of the biography. Have gatherings and discuss one or two chapters. It's useful because you discover a lot of stuff in between, as you're reading. And it is helpful for many people in the group who may not understand certain things. It's good chance to ask questions, clarify certain facts or get different perspectives. Usually, someone will notice something that others won't so it ends up being a good exchange of information and you pick up a lot more that way.

Good to make it fun. Mix it up, have some good coffee, chat about it - things settle and stay in the mind much more effective through the sharing vibe.

Have fun!

Special Note: I LOVE this new format! It is much easier to navigate. And I found it has now on the top left corner:

2. Show new replies to your posts

Which is great because very often postings get buried under new ones... Thank you again team on a fabulous job!!!!

Amazing, H.H Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche's autobiography is so long and detail. I have not done the reading. Even read on the very beginning chapter , i have learned a lot from H.H. Will continued to read. This illusory is really like reading and "watching" how a true Bodhisattva live in real live. I remember in one chapter, H.H say something like- he do not think he have 6th sense or clairvoyance when he can't even know what is going to serve on dinner. To me, he is so humble, he teaches us by his actions.   H.H wanted us to learned Dharma is true way not by the superstitious methods.

This appears to be the final draft of a translation that was completed in 2007.

You may also like to know that an amazing biography was also written that is being translated into English, but, it will not likely be available for free download, and unfortunately the portions about the Dharmapala have had to be omitted from the translation. Since we already know about Rinpoche's relationship with this heart protector, the biography will still be a wonderful window into this Mahasiddha's life.

You may here of its publication before me, but I will inform you here when it is finished nonetheless.

With great respect and folded hands to the team at www.dorjeshugden.com (http://www.dorjeshugden.com)  I thank you tremendously.

TK

indeed nothing can be done by anyone to alter or edit this piece of work which has inspired and will only continue to inspire many more people into the golden doors of Je Tsongkhapa's teachings.

I am thinking to myself that when the 14th HHDL was just a boy escaping from the grasp of the red guards to India, so much has been done by this loving compassionate mentor of HH who has done nothing but to care and provide for HHDL both spiritually and secularly in many many unbelievable ways. When we go through HH Trijang Dorje Chang's biography, a wealth of information found there which cannot in any means be faulted by anyone, yes! not even the current HHDL with due respect. HH Trijang Dorje Chang has lived, studied, attained, taught and nurtured half if not 2 thirds of the entire Gelug planet, how can he be wrong about Dorje Shugden?!

Putting the issue aside how can we wipe out the name of such a holy Lama (who is the Junior Tutor of HHDL by the way) in the mantras printed to be inserted into our holy statues which are objects worth of superior homage?

May HH Trijang Rinpoche's vast and powerful prayers come to fruition after this terronous storm soon!

thank you once again to the folks behind dorjeshugden.com for having this monumental work published for all!

All the time spent in studying Dharma or reciting or quoting Dharma texts did not teach these individuals how to appreciate and rejoice?

It is said that once you accept Dorje Shugden as your Dharma protector, he will take care of you life after life until you achieve Bodhicitta and Trijang Rinpoche's biography proves that. His biography is also a testament to the fact that Dorje Shugden is an enlightened Dharma protector. CTA cannot do anything against the biography, nor can they edit out Dorje Shugden (like they sometimes do) and now the whole world will know of Dorje Shugden's benefits.

I thought people here might like to know that a very accurate new translation of Trijang Rinpoche's autobiography is coming out soon in book format by Wisdom Publications. It will include an extra section on the remaining 6yrs of Lama Dorjechang's life compiled and written by the Venerable yogi Lotsawa David Gonsalez based on reliable sources such as the attendant and scribe to the late Trijang Dorjechang, the great Heruka yogi Gelong Lobsang Choepel.

Dear psylotripitaka

Thank you for the news about this new translation of the autobiography. While I am happy that a respected publishing house like Wisdom publications is producing this autobiography, my question is – can it be accurate if it omits the parts about HH Trijang Rinpoche’s Dharma Protector practice? Especially as Dorje Shugden is so central to HH Trijang Rinpoche’s life and his guidance so prominent in Tibetan history, such as confirmation that he was the one who helped the Dalai Lama to escape from Tibet safely!

However well this translation is done, it is not complete and will not do justice to the greatness of HH Trijang Dorje Chang. Purely from a literary and historical standpoint it is extreme prejudice.

I'd rather read this version on the website which IS complete anyday!

Dear Kate,

Thanks for writing. I do value and agree with your point, but it is not the autobiography that I was referring to in a previous post regarding information being omitted. It was in a biography that was going to be translated but this will no longer be translated anyhow. The new translation of the autobiography is complete and accurate. To make many mistakes in a translation without humbly having it checked over by other translators, or to exaggerate or completely change bits of of the Gurus' own words is indeed a disservice. But, it happens, and mostly none of us know about it especially if we aren't translators. Anyways, that's a whole other discussion.

Thank you for this awesome news that many have anxiously waited for.... it is truly a treasure! And thank you for all your hard work admin to care enough to highlight parts where Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche mentioned Dorje Shugden in red for easy reference. Your commitment and dedication to lifting the ban in these wonderful activities to bring awareness to everyone senior practitioners and newbies are inspiring.
May more people come in to help get this TRANSLATED in to as many languages as accurately as possible. And yes the part on Dorje Shugden should never be omitted for it plays such an important significant role for us now and in to the future. It explains and clears many doubts and creates deeper conviction on how big a role Dorje Shugden will play when the ban is lifted and how many people He would beneit for He is the protector of our times... the kaliyurga times.

Notice there is significant similarity in Dorje Shugden and Vajrayogini's practice.... both becomes more powerful, stronger and significant as the age of kaliyurga, degeneration of this planets society spins deeper in to the dark ages. I'm beginning to understand now why their practices are heavily promoted by our Lineage Father the great Heruka His Holiness Kyabje Pabongkha Dorje Chang. How fortunate we are to be able to receive this nectar... still.

This is very sad and a very stunted account of Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche's life. Like what Wisdom Being had said, Dorje Shugden features quite prominently in Trijang Rinpoche's life and on top of that, the account is from 3rd party and not directly from Trijang Rinpoche himself.

I have downloaded and gone through the autobiography myself and I am amazed at the detail in which he recalls everything. This is certainly a very powerful and inspirational read as we discover how a real Bodhisattva leads his life of service towards others. Its good that it is free and available for download by everyone but I think it would be great if it was made into a comprehensive printed autobiography. Besides Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche, it is also really nice to read about the account of Tagpu Pemavajra in it, this little known mahasiddha that seems to possess this amazing ability to eject his mind to pure realms. I have not heard about him from anywhere else and wonder if he has living incarnations right now.

Sigh, I really hate to read about something like this, when Dharma texts or biographies are edited so that they become 'politically correct'. Why not be brave and release an unabridged biography of Trijang Rinpoche?! Whatever happened to people who would stand up for the truth? Why cant they release 2 versions: one 'clean' version and one unabridged version for the more 'special' readers? In any case, Illusory play is already more than enough for me. I prefer the one that is not censored, thank you.

Big Uncle and Ensapa,

You are right. I would like to apologize to the admin in particular for arrogantly disrespecting their enormous efforts to provide this translation. My words were inappropriate.

Editing the hagiography of a great master is wrong. Period. They should never have done something like that at all. Dharma texts should never be edited or re-interpreted the way the translator wants it or else it would distort the real meaning and it will mislead people. That is why in the past, those who are great translators also happen to be great practitioners themselves unlike now, where anyone who is interested in Tibetan can learn it and start translating texts, and then miss out or skew the the whole Dharma text to a different direction. Ironically, Trijang Rinpoche himself advised against only reading portions of the Dharma text that we like.

Ensapa, indeed your points are sound and reflect what I have stated in my reply to Kate. However, if your comment about "anyone interested in learning Tibetan..." is referring to Sharpa Tulku or Lotsawa David Gonsalez, the comments do not apply to these great Yogis who have been translating for a long time and are recognized by many realized Lamas as qualified Lotsawa's (Eyes of the World) due to their very special understanding born from authentic realization.

Anyways, there's no point in continuing this particular conversation. I regret bringing up the conversation the way I did not just because it was disrespectful, but it is taking our attention away from drawing attention to the good qualities of Trijang Dorjechang. Big Uncle was right, hence my sincere apology. Let's change our attention to admiring faith and wishing faith with respect to the good qualities of the Lama.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Obviously, my comments do not refer to them, but just to my general dismay of some of the translators that you can see on the net during this time and age, especially some who have a Tibetan savior complex and who have obvious attitude problems to top that off and have strong anti Gelug sentiments while at that. I am very saddened by the omission of Dorje Shugden in Trijang Rinpoche's biography, but in no way do i think that Sharpa Tulku and David Gonzales are unqualified because i can see that many people have benefitted from their works and that tells me that they know what they are translating. I do hope they will produce an uncensored version when the ban is lifted though.

I agree and have the same hope. I must say though that compared  to 1996 era, the amount of information on Dorje Shugden available, especially through this site and the history site is astounding and very touching. It has brought a lot of insight to my relationship with the Protector. The Translation of Trijang Rinpoche's composition on Dorje Shugden was a very welcome addition to Geshe Kelsang Gyatso's commentary!!

With this, scholars have no way to argue that they cant find proof of Dorje Shugden's existence or acceptance of Dorje Shugden in the past, although some may still argue that those information were fabricated because they are too fanatical about the whole thing. You can get to meet them once in a while in Buddhist forums where any document supporting Dorje Shugden is rubbed off as lies or fabrications in the most fanatical way possible. That age is gone now, and fanatics are easily spotted these days and nobody just buys their information or authority anymore.
