DS.com have just received news from Domo Rinpoche's parents about an attack that took place in their Gaden Choling Monastery in Phedong, India.

The false Dalai Lama alone is to blame for this, and for all the other disharmony and division his false ban has caused, as well as the damage done to the Kagyu tradition over the Karmapa affair. He brings problems and division wherever he goes.

It is quite sad how the Tharpa Choling monks chose political gain over loyalty to their Guru, Protector and lineage. This is despite the 1999 consensus by all Domo Geshe Rinpoche's monasteries to continue to worship Dorje Shugden at the meeting of the Ghum Dun Gon Samten Choaling Association. At the time and with Domo Geshe as witness, they vowed to continue in upholding the Protector practice despite whatever difficulties they knew they were going to face with the ban in place.
The reason Tharpa Choling turned against their Guru was purely out of convenience and gain. In a June 2006 letter to Trijang Choktrul Rinpoche they slyly explained that since the Dalai Lama had already given his seal to the Dalai Lama's choice of [Domo Geshe] reincarnation, they were concerned that should they reject the Dalai Lama's choice, then eventually "all the related Monasteries coming under the affiliation of Domo Dungkar will have to be segregated from the Dalai Lama".
In other words, in not wanting to be segregated by the Tibetan establishment in exile, Tharpa Choling chose to ignore the fact that:
(i) They made a vow to remain loyal to their Guru and Protector which they have broken;
(ii) That in December 2005, the Oracle of Dorje Shugden had officially declared that Domo Geshe's reincarnation had been born in Sikkim, in other words, the candidate chosen by the Dalai Lama (a boy in the Tibetan Refugee Colony in Bylakuppe) was incorrect. Tharpa Choling knew that but was willing to ignore Dorje Shugden and Trjang Rinpoche’s firm advice and was willing to go with a false reincarnation of their Master;
(iii) That the search for the [wrong] candidate should not be under the purview of the Dalai Lama (through Sera Je Drati Khangtsen which initiated the search) as the Dalai Lama had refused to compose the Swift Return Prayer. Moreover the search for the wrong candidate was not done through proper channels but via the personal initiative of Geshe Lobsang Sherab of Sera Je, all too eager to the please the Dalai Lama.
Clearly it is much more than wanting to have a continuing association with the Dalai Lama. It is common knowledge that officials of Tharpa Choling have been promised various bounties from the Dalai Lama, should they succeed in wiping out the Shugden practice from all Domo Geshe's monasteries and deliver them under the Dalai Lama's control.
Therefore what we are seeing is a continuing process in that profane effort. This is not the first case and example of how corruptive the Dalai Lama’s actions have been and how much damage have been inflicted on the Dharma and Sangha by the ban. From these acts by Tharpa Choling monks, they have shown themselves to be no longer real monks but ordinary thugs. And this could very well be the legacy of the 14th Dalai Lama and his bandit government – not that of upholding and preserving the Buddhadharma, not that of returning the Tibetan people to their homeland as promised, but a legacy of destruction of the Tibetan people’s culture, ethics and religion.

Monks allege forcible occupation of monastery. It is also reported in the "Business Standard".
How appalling that monks have come to this stage of degeneration because of the ban. It is clearly they have broken samaya with their Lama for their behaviour and will not escape the inevitable retribution in time to come. My heart goes to these monks and I pray that they will quickly come to their senses and rectify their wrong doings. What a shame.

Authorities of the Ganden Choling Monastery in Kalimpong have alleged that a group of Tibetan monks from another monastery vandalised the premises and forcibly occupied it.
"The monks of Tharpacholing Monastery with the help of members of the Tibetan Women's Association and other Tibetan refugee organisations from Kalimpong broke into and forcibly took over the Gandencholing Monastery at Pedong in Kalimpong on May 18," Phurbu Tshering, general secretary of the monastery told PTI from Kalimpong.
A police complaint has been filed.
The row among the Buddhist monks was sparked over the worship of Dorjee Shugden, a Tibetan mythological figure.
Ganden Choling Monastery is the only one in Kalimpong area that has not given up its tradition of propitiating Dorje Shugden and houses a very ancient statue of the deity and other sacred images which were installed there by the 1st Domo Geshe Rinpoche Ngawang Kalsang more than 85 years ago.
Monks from the Tharpa Choling Monastery said they were opposed to the worship of Shugden because the Dalai Lama advised them against it.
A group of seven Lamas reside in the Ganden Choling Monastery, meant only for meditation.
The monastery belonged to and was loyal to the present Domo Geshe Rinpoche Lobsang Nga-Kyi Wangchuk, an ethnic Sikkimese, who is a minor and at present studying in Shar Gaden Monastery in south India.

This is a rude reminder that we are all living in Samsara and in a degenerate age.
Ultimately however, if one could measure the ratio of DS practitioners to non-practitioners and the direction it is taking, one could arguably be convinced that all this "shadow play" by the masters is actually benefiting the spread of dharma in general and the DS practice in particular.
Going forward I hope to see more dharma, less drama! :)

Once again, we see lawlessness and violence being used to force an issue and an outcome. This time it is the forced occupation of Gaden Choling by monks from Tharpa Choling, claiming that the Ladrang and Monastery belongs to them.
The history behind it says otherwise. This monastery and Tharpa Choling had both belonged to the 2nd Domo Geshe , who had altogether 7 monasteries or Ladrang in the Pedong region. When the 2nd Domo Geshe Rinpoche passed away, all representatives of the 7 monasteries agreed to request Trijang Choktrul Rinpoche to identify the reincarnation of Domo Geshe, after the Dalai Lama refused to write a prayer for the return of the reincarnation, on grounds that the 2nd Domo Geshe was a Shugden practitioner.Kyabje Trijang Choktrul Rinpoche identified the reincarnation as being born in Sikkim. However,the monks of Tharpa Choling reneged on the agreement. Instead they found their own candidate and presented him to HH Dalai Lama to be recognized as the reincarnation. In an uncharacteristic move, the Dalai Lama promptyly recognized this candidate as the reincarnation , as opposed to the candidate recognized by Trijang Choktrul Rinpoche!
At the same time, Tharpa Choling officially renounced Shugden practice, claiming loyalty to HH Dalai Lama, who had imposed the ban on Shugden practice. In one fell swoop they had renounced their devotion to their Guru which is at the heart of practice!
One week after the faithful and loyal attendant of the 2nd Domo Geshe Rinpoche, the caretaker of Gaden Choling ,Kusho Pasang-la passed away, the monks of Tharpa Choling swooped into Gaden Choling, even as monks from the Samten Choling monastery were there chanting prayers for the newly departed!
Such uncalled for lawlessness and violence has opened up a can of worms, that is the Tibetan leadership, for 'inspiring' such action. The monks from Tharpa Choling refuse to leave Gaden Choling , even though the police have requested that all vacate the premises until the true owner has been determined. So the monks of Tharpa Choling have, in an act of double jeopardy, refused to recognize their teacher's true incarnation, preferring to swear allegiance to a fake incarnation. They have done all this, including throwing away their devotion to their guru, in the name of loyalty to the Dalai Lama. We see how politics can intervene to put an ugly twist to facts and the true situation.

What a shameful and non-devoted act from the Tharpa Choling’s monks.
They not only harming their own fellow sangha but even show so much disrespect to their Guru. What are they trying to prove? Be a good side of the Dalai Lama? Domo Geshe is their Guru and has thought them directly! This is not to disrespect the Dalai Lama but it totally doesn’t make sense!
If Dalai Lama reluctant to enthrone the reincarnated Domo Geshe which recognized by Trijang Rinpoche where his previous life was the 14th Dalai Lama Junior teacher how can he recognize Tharpa Choling’s candidate? On what basis? It seems like telling Tharpa Choling’s monk has higher attainment than Trijang Rinpoche?
The act from Tharpa Choling is just like setting a war and conquers other country. So non-dharmic and how can they do that to their own Gurus students and property? What a betrayer and total have non guru devotion. Wonder how they do their prayer due to broken samaya?

Amazing the Indian polices not gone and done anything. Are they under the Tibetan governments thumb in that region? It wouldnt surprise me; Dharamsala has deep pockets thanks to the millions of gullible westerns (previously such as myself) who donate their spare change to the "cause". Little do they know what their donations are going towards. Religious oppression, suppression and religious genocide. Now we can add "breaking and entering" into the CTA rep sheet.

If people donate to the Dalai Lama ok fine at least he teaches the dharma, but to donate to the CTA to support them to waste more money and keep oppressing their own people no way.
What is the world coming to the monks at Tharpa Choling, they dare to take over another monastery's location and doing it in front of the world. The word shame does not even become to describe the monks of Tharpa Choling. I recall that when monks break their vows, and if the karma is unpurified they could end up being born as a Nagas, and lay people taking property from the Sangha it is not going to be a good next life.
Since Tharpa Choling is in this, they are definitely backed up the CTA and the Dalai Lama. If these monks can believe Dorje Shugden is a spirit why in seven hells do they find an incarnation of Domo Geshe. By finding an incarnation of Domo Geshe they are agreeing that you practice Dorje Shugden and not go to the lower realms. All the monks at Tharpa Choling have done is business there is no dharma in this at all.

Shameful..... acts of violence are against Buddhism. And these monks from Tharpa Choeling best demonstrates what a Buddhist should NOT do. violence, attacking other monks, taking over other people's property, unlawful attack, unlawful judgement...... the list goes on and on.....
Who are the violent people now? Shugdenpas who protest peacefully or monks who attacks? You be the judge.

Does anyone know the latest NEWS and outcome to this? Have the traitor monks left the Domo Geshe's property which they forcefully occupy??? What the latest news? Is everyone in the Labrang okay? Anyone know and can give us a follow up update please? I do hope those Tharpa Choling monks get arrested for their crimes... very SHAMEFUL for MONKS to do this!
Since you have went on your own separate ways from your Lama, and even recognise another Lama as your Lama, then why don't you start all over again with your "own" Domo Geshe Rinpoche... it would not be hard if it was genuine, no? :P

Two hundred Tibetans broke into Domo Rinpoche's Monastery in India, destroying property and dragging out monks. Corrupt police officers gave no support to the Monastery.
In a telephone interview Mr Phubu Tshering, General Secretary of Samten Choeling Association, describes this recent attack on the Ganden Choling Monastery in Darjeeling.

What everyone shared here is all very true... the ban has created so much trouble within the Gelug lineage. It not only cause a break in the lineage, but it has bread so much schism, and greed.
Look at how the Tharpa Choling monks behave. Their greed has lead them to forcibly claim the monastery. On top of that, I was told they were not cooperative with the police and refused to abide by the law while they occupied the monastery. What a shame...
I truly fear that if the ban is not lifted soon, this would be the age where Buddhism is destroyed from within... and the Gelugpa lineage would come to an end in our generation.

I can't believe i am reading this. it is really unbelievable for such things to happen. Why would they be doing this to fellow Sangha? why would they want to inflict harm to another fellow human being? Even police are not doing anything because of corruption? It is near unbelievable such things can happen in this age of information. Why would they not be afraid of and won't they worried about being exposed?

On May 18, 2014 at 3:30pm, a group of 40 monks and laypeople from Tharpa Choling in Kalimpong, forced their way into Gaden Choling in Phedong. They have continued to occupy the Gaden Choling premises and claim that the monastery belongs to them. Despite police attempts at mediation, they have refused to leave the premises.
This is the video of the actual break-in, shot by one of the monks who, during the commotion, had the presence of mind to start recording on his mobile phone. As you can see, the monks and laypeople from Tharpa Choling were not given access to Gaden Choling, and had to climb over the wall to gain entry. Those in Gaden Choling were overwhelmed by the number of people who forced their way in; there was no way they could have defended themselves against the number of people who broke in.

It is astonishing that such an illegal takeover by using muscle and money power should take place in a democratic country with total disregard of the law of the land and blatant breach of Article 15 of the Indian Constitution even as the matter is sub judice. This Monastery is the only one in the Kalimpong area that has not given up its tradition of propitiating Dorje Shugden and it houses a very ancient and holy statue of the deity and other sacred images which were installed there by the 1st Domo Geshe Rinpoche Ngawang Kalsang more than eighty-five years ago. This is so disgusting to watch! What on earth has Monks and Tibetans become? They are criminals and they are not even afraid of the laws of the land they are being given in kind by India to stay in! IS THIS HOW DALAI LAMA FOLLOWERS AND SUPPORTERS BEHAVE? What kind of representation are they giving? Really it is too much, this is a crime and they ought to be arrested if they haven't yet! India should not stand aside and tolerate these kind of disrespect and injustice! They are like hooligans and trouble makers... and it seems like this is the true colours of followers of Dalai Lama, and definitely not of a democratic society!
If not, then why doesn't the CTA or the Dalai Lama advice kindly to these people to stop causing trouble and harm to others? Their silence shows they definitely approve of it and also encourages it, that is why these people can be so brave!

It is incredible that this type of illegal action can happen in a democratic country. Other Shugden monasteries must rally around Gaden Choling now. I hope the matter can be resolved in a peaceful manner. Violence and monks fighting is the last thing we want. May the ban be lifted and Dorje Shugden's practice spread for the benefit of mankind.

It is very shocking to see how Buddhism has degenerated in the hands of a segment of people who claim to practice buddhism. How can people who call themselves Buddhist, forcibly enter other people’s premises and create problems.
The video is so very clear, lay people and monks from Tharpa Choling have invaded the premises of Gaden Choling how can they do that? What spirituality are they practicing to disturb monks who are doing puja for the previous care taker?
This is a very clear sign of degeneration plus a clear side effect of enforcing an archaic ban that no one wants and brings no benefit. Mother India the birthplace of Buddhism please take note of such thuggery that is happening to the 2nd largest democracy in the world. It is a tarnish to India as a country of tolerance and spirituality.
Please help us expose these non Buddhists who use Buddhism as a means to just find a living and to feed their self centredness.

Was worried for the monk in Gaden Choling, not sure what are the latest news.
To the monks of Tharpa Choling, i think they are very greedy. They took side to what they think is easy for them. 1st choose the false candidate , 2nd trying to stop 3rd the Domo Geshe's enthronement ceremony and now occupying the Gaden Choling by force.
If they are so devoted to Dalai Lama, they should not even come near to Gaden Choling not to say they are now occupying it forcefully. And, Domo Geshe is known to be practicing Dorje Shugden for his reincarnation, if they believed what the Dalai Lama said, that Dorje Shugden is a spirit , then based on this fact, there should not be reincarnation of Domo Geshe, so why they bother to search for the reincarnate.
Their actions are purely acting out of greedy, greedy to have occupy wealth of Domo Geshe Rinpoche.
Shame on them who involved in this acts.

This is the mentality of some Tibetans which made them so backward. No wonder they lost their country and are unable to regain their homeland. This is due to their collective karma ripening. The behavior and actions by the monks at Tharpa Choling are shameful. How can anyone attack Domo Geshe Rinpoche’s Monastery in Phedong unless they are “nuts”, stupid or funded by the CTA. Lately there is so much violence, attacks, harm, death threats by HHDL followers and supporters against DS practitioners. If the ban is not lifted soon and the truth revealed, more DS practitioners will be hurt and harm. I hope HHDL will advise his followers to stop causing so much harm to DS practitioners and prevent bloodshed before its too late!

Actions speak louder than words.
Actions of the followers affect the reputation of their leader.
What actions:
1. intolerance of other's spiritual beliefs
2. intolerance leading to the persecution of the followers
3. and to efforts made to annihilate their beliefs
2. in turn leading to acts of aggression and violence.
Is this one's spiritual practice?
This is not Buddhism anymore it is thugness, nothing to do AT ALL with a spiritual practice.

It is a dismal to see that the former student of previous incarnation of Domo Geshe Rinpoche attacked Gaden Choling, this is such a betrayal to their Guru, beside created such a heavy karma for themself by harming another Sangha.
Such actions shows their degenerated practice of Buddhism and Dharma, they are no different with thugs only in robe, what will the world see Monks and Buddhist? The Tharpa Choling Monks actions not only smear the status of Buddhist, but directly smearing the name of H.H Dalai Lama, and the CTA, because they support H.H, yet acted barbarically towards another monasteries and fellow Sangha.
I personally feel the Indian Government and the Police force around Gaden Choling should take serious action against those who trespass illegally.

CTA has created a lot of hatred among the Tibetan towards the Shugden practitioners. From the published of the hit list of 20 Shugden practitioners who participated in the protest, adding the additional of 14 names to the hit lists, then the letter from United Front of the Tibetan People threatening they will take further actions, we see more violence now.
CTA is a liar. They said they are treating all Tibetan equally, democratic and support religious freedom. However, look at what they have done!!! They are stirring up hatred among the people and fighting against they own Tibetan people just because they practice Dorje Shugden. In addition, they are creating disharmony in India that has kindly let them stayed there.
The ban must come down. For the peace of Tibetan and for world peace!

IT’s so sad to see that the anti Shugden monks together with the lay people invaded Gaden Choling Monastery AGAIN!. How can the monks treat their own Sangha members as such and not only the Sangha members but their own Gurus’s Monastery. Creating disharmony, threat and violent is what we cannot do especially for people holding vows. Where is their Guru devotion to protect their Guru’s belonging & properties? Whether they agree on the Sangha members practicing Lord Shugden doesn’t mean that they can harm them. The CTA involvement has created so much negative action and damages toward the Sangha community. We can see clearly the separation that the Dalai Lama enforced and with CTA carried out the action towards the Shugden practitioners it’s totally against human rights and freedom.

CTA has just kept damaging their own country people and keep weaken their community strength. They can stop saying to look for freedom as they don’t even give freedom for their own people for religions practice with what right they request/fight for? With the direction and action of the Tibetan leader will just make the country gone from the sight and what left will be just a history that being a laughing stock of how the Tibetan leader damage their own country.
The world should know the CTA dirty and cruel action and more people should fight for the ban to be lifted to prove that human right is exist and being practice by all the people in the world for harmony and happiness of all mankind.

Audacious and malicious is how I would describe the 2nd attack of Domo Geshe's monastery in Phedong. The first attack by the monks of Tharpa Choling Mnonastery took place on May 18, just 1 week after the passing of Kusho Pasang-la. This 2nd attack is on the 49th day , the last day in bardo for Kusho Pasang-la. How unfeeling and callous for monks to attack a monastery where other monks are in crucial and sacred prayers for their much loved monastery caretaker .Hooliganism of this nature is already bad, when practiced by lay people, but really this is too much when monks join laity in this attack.
So what if they are pro-Dalai Lama loyalists. They were students of the second Domo Geshe, and practiced Shugden ,like he did, until his death. Then overnight, they turned against their Lama and the Protector. They found a candidate for succession as the incarnate of the second Domo Geshe, and brought him to the Dalai Lama to be recognized as the incarnation! Now they attack a monastery of Domo Geshe, because he is a Shugden practitioner!
The CTA incited them, with acts such as the publication of the hit-list. Now the CTA and the Dalai Lama just keep quiet and do nothing. With such an attitude from the authorities, we can expect more bold attacks on monks and monasteries!

Is there nothing the CTA won't do?
It seems that there is no limit for CTA in what they are willing to do, there are not bound by ethics which one would not try to take away property's that is not theirs .
They have no shame or decency because before the caretaker finished his last pujas sending him off to his next life they come invading again. The positive thing about this is the Indian police especially are beginning to get to know about how the Tibetans are behaving.
Soon there will be a ruling about the monastery, may Dorje Shugden emerge the victor as it is mentioned in the Nyirtoe.

This shameful act of violence by attacking Gaden Choling Monastery for the second time, especially at this solemn and sacred ceremony revealed their aggressive behavior. It is pure logic of their intention to wipe out all Dorje Shugden practitioners.Who are the real spirit or demon worshippers after all?

Indian police is known for their corruption. While they should not be on either side (CTA or the people of Tibet), but on the law's side, they are often on the side of money. And dalaites have plenty of dirty money to bribe Indian police officials,whence their unlawful behavior.

The Anti Shugden people are really big trouble makers, they are not interested in doing practices or developing their minds or compassion. And now they have followed CTA to make a claim on property that is not theirs for the taking. The moment they have not even stepped into the court the Anti Shugden people start to quarrel with the Indian police.
We need to make this video well known to the world. I do hope the monks have adequate legal advice going into this case.

It is really sad to see sangha members in the video and all the videos I have watched where lay people verbally and physically abused innocent people. These people have not broken the law of the land yet those anti Dorje Shugden people take actions into their own hands. Surely the Dalai Lama would have heard of such violent actions, yet he remains oblivious and claims he did not receive such reports from his office. With this, the CTA is getting bolder and bolder, using its power and inciting the anti Dorje Shugden group to wreak more havoc on the innocent and peace loving people who just want to be left alone with their Dorje Shugden practice.
For those sponsors of the Dalai Lama and CTA: Why are you giving your hard earned money to them to continue with this atrocity? Did you sponsor for the growth of dharma or what?

It doesn't take a lot for the less Dharmic people who claims to be in Dharma to be provoked and to break their vows of non violence. Strange but true! This is a needless example and I shudder to think what else is going to happen. When will the Dalai Lama and the CTA stop? How much karma the Dalai Lama wants to purify? Stop this suffering please for both sides. Aren't there other methods?
I hope this is really worth it. That is when the ban is lifted, the practice of Lama Tsongkhapa and the Protector will spread to the ten directions for this to be worth it.

Kathmandu: Nepal reversed course and decided on Tuesday to allow the body of a revered Tibetan Buddhist monk to be brought into the country and cremated, a government minister said.
The decision to permit Shamar Rinpoche's body to be brought in from India and cremated at his monastery just outside Kathmandu, Nepal's capital, was made at a Cabinet meeting, Information Minister Minendra Risal said.
Nepal's government had previously stopped Rinpoche's followers from bringing the body into the country, saying the monk was a Bhutanese national. Some, however, accused the government of fearing anti-China protests by Tibetans during the funeral procession, which is expected to be attended by thousands of Rinpoche's followers.
Nepal does not allow Tibetan exiles to protest against China, and police are quick to break up any demonstrations. The occasional anti-China protests have been embarrassing for the Nepalese government, and Beijing has pressured Nepal to stop them.
After the 62-year-old Rinpoche died of a heart attack in Germany last month, his body was flown to India for his followers there to pay their last respects. Nepal's government initially gave permission for the body to then be taken to Nepal, but changed its mind and denied its entry.
The body, meanwhile, has remained in Kalimpong in northeast India.
Rinpoche's followers in Nepal had been pressuring the government to allow the body in, but a decision was delayed because Prime Minister Sushil Koirala was in the United States for cancer treatment and returned home only last week.
Risal, the information minister, said the government decided to let the body into the country because of Rinpoche's contribution to Buddhism in Nepal.
Rinpoche, who built his monastery in the northeastern hills of Kathmandu and preached there for several years, has followers in Nepal, India, Bhutan and European nations. His followers said it was his wish to be cremated at his monastery.
The cremation is expected to take place on Thursday.
The Nepalese are quite compassionate, despite Shamar Rinpoche choice of the Karmapa not being supported by Chinese, they allowed Shamar Rinpoche to be buried in Nepal. Nepal has close ties with China naturally. At least the Nepalis do not sacrifice their own people for property and gain. i don't know what kind of karma these people who are trying to get their hands on Domo Geshe property , om mani padme hum for them to be used by CTA.
