Dear everyone,
This is a very clear and high resolution picture of Dorje Shugden.
It includes:
1. Clear names in Tibetan of each of the 32 entourage of King Shugden.
2. Dorje Shugden's previous lives above left and right sides.
3. In the centre, and above is the short form appearance of lineage lamas of Dorje Shugden's practice.
I have made the file large so that everyone may have a print if they wish. You can download.
Largest recommended size A3.
Good luck, May Dorje Shugden's sacred practice prevail.

Is that an eye on Dorje Shugden's right forearm?

Anyone ever think there was a parallel between how Dorje Shugden and Yamantaka came about? From The Celestial Gallery:
In the origin myths of Yamantaka, thieves came to a remote cave to slaughter a stolen bull. After decapitating the captured beast, one of the thieves noticed that their crime had been witnessed by a yogi meditating in the back of the cave. Although the yogi begged for his life, the thieves were merciless and cut off his head. With the power gained from his years of meditation, however, the yogi placed the freshly slaughtered bull’s head on his own shoulders and assumed the wrathful and incandescent form pictured in these thangkas.

That story is for Yamaraja, right? Yamaraja is essentially the protector of the Yamantaka cycle. Sure, the yogi was enraged which may have led him to take birth as a fierce protector, actually all protectors have some "birth" story like this. Some are actually make this story and Dorje Shugden's story look fairly mild. Read the story about Tsiu Marpo, it is too graphic to post here!
About the eyes on DS's body, if I remember Denma Gonsar Rinpoche (the last lineage lama in this painting) said that only the uncommon form of DS has this feature. When the Fifth DL's regent trying killing Tulku Dragpa Gyaltsen they first tried cutting him, and wherever the cut him an eye like this appeared. They weren't able to kill him, so he said get the scarf of Yamaraja from Ganden monastery and stuff down my throat that's the only way you can kill me.
P.S. "Images of Enlightenment" (Wisdom 1993) pages 124-125 has the complete story, after the enraged yogi with the bull head went hell bent, Manjushri manifested as Yamantaka to subdue him and made him a Dharma protector, Dharmaraja (Yamaraja = Dharmaraja).
Wow - this is the first i have heard about the appearance of eyes whenever Tulku Dragpa Gyeltsen was cut. Is there anywhere I can read more about it?
Many thanks,
Kate

Thank you, mountains, for the thangka and the explanations. Good to know who are in the thangka.

Thank you for sharing this. It is important to know who are in the thangka. I'm particularly interested in the entourage of Dorje Shugden, how they look like, that is, their iconography, and also their function. I wish someone could also give us their names in English.

Thank you for sharing this holy thangka of Dorje Shugden mandala. It is beautiful and with the details of all the 32 entourage of Dorje Shugden. Apart from that, it is showing the lineage lamas of Dorje Shugden from Lama Tsongkapa to Dulzin Trakpa Gyeltsen, to Dakpu Dorje Chang, HH Pabongka Rinpoche, HH Trijang Rinpoche and Denma Konsar Kangyur Rinpoche. For me, this gave me a lot of faith on the lineage of Dorje Shugden as it is passed down from Lama Tsongkhapa to all the great masters.
I found that this thangka is also can be downloaded from the gallery with many more photos of Dorje Shugden. http://www.dorjeshugden.com/buddhas/ (http://www.dorjeshugden.com/buddhas/)
In this folder, there is one more photo that I like very much, i.e. thangka of Tsongkhapa with disciples and Dorje Shugden.
