Here is some information I found about a new project that is seeking to help find sponsors for the monks of our lineage:
The Sangha Jewels Project was created in the effort to support our Sangha and build lasting relationships with our friends from abroad.
We are seeking to find sponsors for our monks at Shar Gaden, Phelgye Ling, and Segyu Monasteries.
The monks who have the greatest need of sponsorship are both the very young and the very old.Sponsoring a monk is a very powerful way to express our gratitude to the monks of our precious lineage who are continuously working for our benefit. Through your kindness a monk is able to enter and stay in the monastery without worry. When you support a monk you not only create good karma for yourself but you now have made a life-long friend and a direct link with these important monasteries.
Many of the monks at these monasteries come from small villages where the families are very poor and uneducated. Coming to the monastery provides a unique opportunity for these monks to receive an education in modern subjects in addition to the traditional religious training. When the monks enter the monastery, we take the full responsibility for their welfare, their education, and their health. This enables them to focus completely on their studies and to practice the holy Buddha-Dharma.
To assist these monasteries in their mission to educate and train monks in the fundamentals of Dharma , we ask that you sponsor a monk here at the monastery. By pledging $25 a month (or any amount you can afford), you will help provide the monks with proper nutrition, medical care, and education. The money will go into a general fund to support all the monks, and you will be given a picture and information about your monk friend with whom you can correspond. If he is too young to write to you, the monastery will provide you with updates on his life and progress.
Please contact us at [email protected] if you are interested in this worthy project.
All funds for this sponsorship project go directly to the monasteries.
Thank you for your generous support.

This is wonderful indeed that there are now fundraising projects for the monks in Shar Ganden and that they are doing quite well. Is there any updates or progress about this and also on the hospital? It looks very good tho that it has opened and is running quite well without the support from the surrounding communities. It's great to know that there is a hospital in Dharamsala that does not discriminate against anyone and that anyone can go and seek treatment from it as opposed to the Drepung Loseling dispensary that does not welcome Dorje Shugden practitioners. I mean, all who practice medicine must adhere to the Hippocratic oath, where the life of a human is more important than anything else, even if that person is your enemy. If they dont adhere to it, then whats the use of practicing medicine?

Please consider sponsoring a monk or making a one-time donation. This is a great way to support these monasteries and create a lasting and meaningful connection with the holy sangha.

Rejoice for this project. I am vey happy that there are fund raising projects just like this that supports and helps the monks that practices Dorje Shugden. I am happy to know that people are helping these monks that are facing so much difficulties in back in India to improve their living quality.
I really hope that more people would know about this project and help these monks.

Thanks to many new friends, the Sangha Jewels Project had a very successful first year! Many people from all over the world are now connected with these monks and monasteries in a very meaningful way.
Throughout the first year, the project has been praised by many of the senior monks, geshes, and rinpoches of our tradition.
The abbots have also expressed their gratitude for the support that these monasteries are receiving through the Sangha Jewels Project. Endorsements from some of these abbots and rinpoches will be added to the website soon, as well as testimonials from sponsors and their monks friends.
The project has now expanded in scope and has many exciting plans for the coming year.
There have been meetings with the administrators of the monasteries and each monastery has pledged to do whatever it takes to make this a meaning experience for all involved.

This project is great, I'm glad that this project started up to provide for those monks who really need the support for the Shugden practitioners from all over the world. It's sad that a lot of people still think that we worship a worldly protector and that it is wrong. These monks should be supported because they are the future generations who will keep the dharma and practice of Dorje Shugden alive for the future.

Wow! Thank you so much for creating this project and link to make it easy and accessible for someone like me in Australia to be able to sponsor the livelihood of monks in India. $25 a month is so affordable. For me $25 is the cost of two packs of cigarettes. I guess it's about time to cut down on the nicotine and commit to sponsoring $25 a month towards a meritorious cause.

You can also make a one-time donation is you wish to support this project but are not able to make a commitment for monthly sponsorship. Please visit the 'Send Donation Online' link to make a donation of your choice.

Rejoice in the many dharma projects Shar Gaden is executing. Would be good to look at social entrepreneurship as a way to going forward https://www.ashoka.org/ (https://www.ashoka.org/)
The public is receptive to religious or spiritual organisations to find their own funds through entrepreneurship with a social context in mind. Crowdfunding seems to be something that many people are starting to engage in as well to kick start their projects and etc
http://crowdfunding.com/ (http://crowdfunding.com/)
These are just new ways of raising funds and not just the complete reliance on donors, relying on donors is good too but it would not hurt to have varying types of ways to fund raise.

I have heard that a couple of 'one-time' donations have been made to the Sangha Jewel Project by visitors of this forum. That is great news!
Such an easy way to show our support to their monasteries and monks of our precious tradition.

Bravo! The Sanghas are committed to development of spiritual progress in order to better serve everyone. This will create causes for the Lama Tsongkhapa teachings to teaching to spread and to remain here on this planet. We don't have a better than now to learn the teachings from Lama Tsongkhapa who is a fully enlightened being.

Latest undertaking by the Sangha Jewels Project:
This first project will focus on assisting Segyu and Phelgye Ling monasteries. We will do this by trying to raise funds to pay the salary for the next year of these monastery’s English and Nepali teachers. We will also provide new textbooks for all of the students at these monasteries.
On top of that, we also wish to sponsor the cost of the monastery websites to allow them to continue to have an active online presence.
The total projected cost for this first project is approximately $2200.
Phelgye Ling teacher’s salary: 57,000 Nepali Rupees
Segyu teacher’s salary: 60,000 Nepali Rupees
Phelgye Ling textbooks: 21,000 Nepali Rupees (2 sets a year)
Segyu textbooks: 35,000 Nepali Rupees
Total for books and teachers: 173,000 Nepali Rupees = $1820
Website fees= $300+
Please visit our ‘Make a Donation’ page to help us with this important project!
Thank you very much for your kindness and support.

Some very exciting news!! We are now ready to present our new interactive website, which we have been working very hard on for the past few months.
In addition to the new design, it now includes the ability for you to leave comments to share your thoughts. Our website also has a 'Testimonials' page with heartfelt quotes from the abbots of the monasteries, as well as other Rinpoches, Lamas, and monastery administrators. Another upgrade is our payment option. The new ‘Credit Card’ choice will now allow recurring payments for those countries that PayPal did not allow, and include the countries that PayPal did not accept, such as Brazil and The Netherlands. We appreciate the commitment of those of you who have been manually making their sponsorship payments each month, and those patiently waiting to set this up for the first time.
We are also very excited to present a new addition to the Sangha Jewels Project!
Over the past year many of you have communicated to us the wish to become more involved with the Sangha Jewels Project. Listening to your ideas, we have now added a new component, Sangha Jewels Action Teams.
Sangha Jewels Action Teams are individuals or groups that function as Sangha Jewels Project satellites in their local communities. They plan and host various fundraisers in their towns, centers, churches, clubs, etc. As we are expanding and adding additional projects to support the monasteries, these teams play a vital role in our abilities to offer assistance and in increasing financial support for these projects. They are also instrumental in introducing the Sangha Jewels Project to new audiences.
We have been asked for assistance with a few things this month. There are projects that we will be launching right away. One is to raise the funds to pay for the salary for a full time nurse at the Shar Gaden clinic. As you may know the new clinic opened last year and to date has been staffed by monastery monks under the supervision of a visiting doctor. Having a nurse on staff will not only improve the health and safety of the monks, but also be able to offer training to the monastery staff. We have also been asked for assistance in purchasing new textbooks, both English and Tibetan, for the upcoming term at Shar Gaden Monastery. We will assist with online fundraising for these projects as well, but the bulk of the fundraising will be done by our action teams.
Please visit the Action Team page on our new website for more information on these projects and the steps to come on board! Many hands together and all things are possible.
If you would like to request assistance for a need at your monastery please contact us at [email protected] with 'Fundraiser Request' in the subject line.

Losang Tenpa, thank you for keeping us abreast with the newest development in the website for the Sangha Jewels Project. The website is very user friendly and I would add that the layout and design is neat and the messages are crystal clear. I wish you and your hardworking team every success to raise the resources needed to fund the education and expenses of the young monks under the wings of your project.

This Sangha jewel Project is a fantastic undertaking. Looking at the list, a lot is happening from this fun. Well done.
A big thank you to Losang Tenpa for the updates.

Update on Losang Tenzin, the young Shar Gaden monk who broke his arm and needed surgery.
'WOW! Amazing! In 24 hours, not only have we met our goal, we have raised $1,320. Your kindness and generosity have not only enabled us to help with all current and expected future medical expenses, there is money to put aside as an 'emergency medical fund'. Losang Tenpa plans to go with Losang Tenzin when he goes back to the hospital for his next appointment and will keep us updated. Losang Tenzin's room teacher, Dakpa Lungtok, is overwhelmed by this. He is not really familiar with the internet and didn't quite understand how this could happen, and so grateful. People are still donating so we will let this run until tomorrow night. Thank you all for your support.'

Losang_Tenpa,
Why is it that you hardly comment on anything else about the ban or on any other thread? I only see you always trying to collect money for your cause but I am just wondering what happened. You used to care more.
-
Actually, I have realized that we all have different parts to play in this. Maybe my part is to work at building bridges with our sangha, and finding ways to support them.
Not sure how this can be interpreted as me not caring or caring less than I used to. Can you please explain how raising funds for our monks and helping with these projects shows that I care less than I used to?
Also, there is much that I do that is behind the scenes, that no one on the outside knows about, so not sure how you can judge how much or how little I care based on the posts I make here. This Sangha Jewels Project is only one of many projects that I have been blessed to participate in.
I have a unique opportunity. I am here at Shar Gaden Monastery. I help where needed and never refuse to assist the monastery when asked. This seems to be my part. My part may not be to join the internet debates, protests etc. This sits fine with me.
:)

One other thing. This is not 'MY' cause. This is the cause of our sangha. The abbots, geshes, lamas and rinpoches support this project.
So, my main point is that some of us can spend much time online debating, posting news reports on facebook and posting threads in this forum etc...while others have different ways to handle this issue. Your way may not fit me and my way not fit you, but as long as we all are doing what we can, why be critical?

I think supporting Shugden monastics is a very helpful cause; I am wondering if there are any nuns that need help/receive help as well, as I always remember we should not leave Tara emanations and future emanations out:).
