Dear all lovely shiny Shugdenpas...
Stumble upon a friends picture of this beautiful coral Shugden carving in a beautiful Dorje Shugden mandala. Apparently it is in a Mongolian monastery, thought I'd share with all. If anyone knows of the name of the Monastery do share ;)

Well, I am not sure about which monastery this coral Dorje Shugden belongs to but I can see the workmanship is very refined. I like the fact that monasteries can practice Dorje Shugden in the open without the fear of persecution as in the Tibetan community of India. There, the Dorje Shugden means nothing and although they are very devoted to the Dalai Lama but they know where the lineage originates.

Wow, the coral Shugden is really nicely crafted. The detailing work is very well done. It is very sad that in our part of the world with advance technology and education, we are still living in uncivilization whereas country like Mongolia without much has preserved their culture and religion til today. Just like what Big Uncle said, they can practiced openly and not being watched by the Tibetan community in India. It is ironic that even practice Buddhism has to be in fear. It is illogical.

wow! the coral Dorje Shugden tsa tsa is amazing in terms of craftsmanship. You can tell that the person who carved this image really believed in Dorje Shugden from the craftsmanship alone. But what is better is the bigger picture: Dorje Shugden is big in Mongolia and nobody can really stop it as they are not ruled by the CTA but by the Jetsun Khalkas. CTA has been trying to dip their hands into the Mongolian Buddhist scene with a book that talks against Dorje Shugden but I dont think many people are paying attention to that one :)

I just got a reply from a friend that this beautifully carved coral image of Lord Dorje Shugden is one of his Shugdenpa family's home in Ulaanbaator. The friend is the disciple of illustrious illustrious Guru Deva Rinpoche!!!

Guru Deva Rinpoche, an incarnation of one of the 84 Siddhas, Bundasheri Tulku Guru Deva, was born in Mongolia for the sole purpose of creating “great benefits for the Dharma and all sentient beings”.
He was a highly qualified Lama, having traveled to Tibet at the age of 20 and studied in the great Monastic University of Drepung under great Masters like Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche, Kyabje Trijang Dorje Chang, Kyabje Ling Rinpoche and Kyabje Gonsar Rinpoche. He had mastered both Tantra and Sutra.
He is known for his significant contributions towards the building of the palace of the Dalai Lama in India as well as the establishing of the three great Monastic Universities – Ganden, Sera and Drepung – in India, after the Dalai lama, other high Lamas and many Tibetans escaped to India with the invasion of Tibet by the Chinese Communists. He also helped to establish many other monasteries and temples as well as accommodation for the refugees in India.
When Buddhism was revived in Mongolia in 1992, he also went there and helped in the restoration of temples, statues and scriptures. In addition, he saw to the restoration of accommodation and facilities for the monks and the people of Mongolia, and also played a role in reviving the education of the monastics. In all these efforts, he worked extensively, untiringly and in a complete manner to benefit sentient beings, right to his old age.
Sadly, this great holy being was forced to leave India and Nepal and retire to Mongolia after 1986, when he protested the ban on Dharmapala Dorje Shugden by the Dalai Lama. He remained, until his death in 2009, isolated from the Tibetan community amongst whom he had lived and shared and spread the Dharma for the benefit of all beings.

This is a very nice and unique piece of Dorje Shugden carved in coral. It is very detailed with good workmanship reflecting on the faith and devotion of the skilled craftsman. Wow and this beautifully carved coral Dorje Shugden is now in the home of the disciple of the illustrious Guru Deva Rinpoche!!! The Mongolians are very fortunate that they are not ruled by the CTA and they can practice Dorje Shugden openly.

This piece is definitely a beauty in its own right!
I've never seen such a beautiful piece of Coral Dorje Shugden before. It dawned upon me, how much devotion and love and care has been put into creating such a beautiful image of Dorje Shugden for worship and for making extensive offerings. Who in the right frame of mind would do so much for Dorje Shugden if the protector has not proven himself over time and again the great deeds of a Buddha which he has perform.
I rejoice in this offering to Dorje Shugden and sincerely pray that more of such shrines arise in this world to bless those who have made such offerings.

This is a very sad story for someone who has benefitted the monastic community so much. How can people even have the heart to kick him off after all that he has contributed? He helped to re-establish the great monasteries and even the Dalai Lama's residence! It should be Guru Dewa Rinpoche's statue that should be erected in Dharamsala instead of the self immolator. For helping the CTA unconditionally...all he got was betrayal and isolation from the very community that he has helped build....how can these people actually sleep well at night knowing that they have mistreated their own benefactor?

Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece of coral tsa tsa of Dorje Shugden. It is nicely craved and setup in a beautiful altar with offerings. Rejoice to the family of disciple of Guru Rinpoche. It is great to see that Dorje Shugden practice are blossoming in Mongolia and it can be practiced openly.
On the other hand, it is sad to hear about the biography of Guru Deva Rinpoche that despite his contributions towards Buddhism and benefiting others, he was forced to leave India just because his printing press published a letter questioning the Dalai Lama’s actions regarding the Dorje Shugden ban and had to be remained isolated from the Tibetan community until his death in 2009. This this piece of art is art,dharma and shows a path to enlightenment. Manjushri's practice is not just good for the scholars and masters it is also benefit for people who engage in the arts too as we can clearly see from this magnificent coral piece from Mongolia.
Despite many people saying Dorje Shugden is the nature of the unenlightened there is much evidence that points to the real nature of Dorje Shugden is Manjushri after all. Where Dorje Shugden is there is much growth, the promotion of learning etc etc.

I find this piece of coral carved image of Dorje Shugden was done with love by someone who really was a devout practitioner. He must have taken some time to look for such a big piece of coral for this offering, not to mention the cost of procuring it. Stunningly beautiful!

That is a very beautiful, detailed tsa tsa and quite unusual. I think small acts of wonder like this help to inspire faith in others. Because you must think what inspired the artist to carve it so nicely into a piece of coral? The quality of the work reflects the level of devotion and care of the artist.

The person who carved DS onto this precious coral must love DS very much. It can be considered an offering to DS to have his image on a very rare and valuable stone. A lot of love and care is put into carving it.

To add, i would think carving this tea tsa would liken to building/mounding/making a Buddha statue. Therefore, the person who carved it would have purified a lot of negative body karma and gained lots of merits to produce this beautiful piece.

Yeah you can actually feel the devotion of the artist to Dorje Shugden through this image judging from the handiwork and the fine details that are on that block of coral. There is no margin for error - one mistake and the big chunk of coral would be wasted and it would have to either be thrown away or something else be carved from it that would be smaller and probably not so detailed or fine as the artist has to find ways to cover his or her own mistakes when doing the tsatsa.

The image of Dorje Shugden is beautifully carved on a piece of coral. It is exquisite, wish that one day I will have the merits to see this image in person.

Really awesome piece of art. To be able to do it in a coral must have been done by someone with great love and devotion to Dorje Shugden.
Even in Mongolia the people can practice DS freely and lets hope the ban be lifted officially soon and the whole world can practice openly and without fear.
