Dalai Lama says Dorje Shugden is not a Religion but Spirit practice. Yes dorje shugden practice is not a religion is true. Worship can be classified as two types. To me one as an enlightened being or spirit. The other as worldy Spirit. Nechung lies in Dalai Lama's Monastery as a worldy spirit. If Nechung is a good spirit he would have advised Dalai Lama against Dalai Lama making a devision of Dorje Shugden practitioners and non practitioners. Thus causing a controversy that creates the segregation of Tibetan people and causing sufferings to Tibetans by rules set out by Dalai Lama and his Government. So Nechung is a worldy spirit.

I was given to understand that Buddhism is not a religion or spirit worship. But a way of life to transform a person to lead a virtuous and peaceful life. But this issue about Dalai Lama banning the practice of Dorje Shugden and causing a serious issue among the people is not supposed to be like that. From what I see Buddhism is supposed to cause peace and harmony among practitioners. But it has turned into violence which is not what Dalai Lama should be teaching people. I only know that Christians only have Holy wars. But not Holy wars in Buddhism.
